The GPS coordinates for the big entrance are N37 20.074 W84 14.481. This is correct.
The coordinates for the 2nd entrance(after doing some research) are N37 20.020 W84 14.011. I haven't personally tested this one, but I think it's pretty close.
Can you give any GPS data or map to the entrance you used in this video? It is very different than the entrance I regularly use yet we both start out walking down railroad tracks.
I'm so glad you put out this video. Now I will have to go there. I have some property in mt. vernon, and the neighbor has a cave which contains a very narrow ledge to walk across, and then on either side you can NOT see the bottom, even withsome extremely powerful lighting...scary thought. Ours contains an overhang similar to this one, but you can not enter, too small. It was used as a refridgerator in the 1800's.
I am a mamaber of the Dayton caving club, and enjoy shooting video of my trips. I am coming down Dec 15th to visit a cave in the Mt Vernon area. I have a portable light that could probably reach the bottom of your pit (8000 lumen, 75W HID). Maybe we could hook up and you could show me the caves.
I think this spelunking thing is something I might want to get into, I've always wanted to check these things out, but never thought there was an oppurtunity like this. thank you.
I had my 7 year old son with me, and the adults we hooked up with by coincidence at the cave entrance, were on their own schedule. My son could not maintain their pace, and obviously, I stayed back with my son while to others went on.
Spelunking is the word used to describe the sport of cave exploration.
I'll be visiting another cave in two weeks and will upload the new video sometime the first week of July.
i thought caves had stalactites/mites? i guess this fits the geologic definition?

Where is this entrance? I've been in the "main entrance" according to the Sinks map, but I need to know where this entrance is.

I would recommend checking with your local grotto. They can tell you where the 2nd entrance is.

I love these videos. They're relaxing and quiet. I play them late at night while I do my phsx/calculus homework.
