  • I earned, borrowed, or stole the money needed for a single in those days... and I never saw this amazing group live... soothing voice? Drink fukin coco... these guys rocked!!!

  • i was just old enough to remember the" bangin man" and all the rest of the hits..this is one of ma favs...love it

  • Butlins hotel Backpool 1973 Yeah

  • This was a throway song?

  • Love Slade. Saw them at Donnington years and years ago. Best band of the day. Good laugh. Bog rolls everywhere..............

  • number 1 when i was born, yeah baby

  • one of the best bands of all time

  • @Gusdocs1 You got that right, just superb even now. Many great memories of the band and the tank tops and hot pants, cant be repeated by any modern band .

  • What a voice...i cant imagine him singing lullabies to his kids,he'd scare them to death.

    Just kidding,love this.

  • In the 70s people buy records to get to number 1 thats why slade got 6.

  • Can you imagine anything this racous getting to number 1 these days?

  • @crowhillian58 They would probably ban it for incorrect spelling too..take Beanz meanz Heinz for example..blasted PC brigade!

  • @Swanagesunrise slade coodunt spel but they invented texting

  • @unclemort1960 Now That's funny......I don't care who you are. LOL Maybe they have a law suit???ROFL

  • there's more energy in this song than all the queen tracks put together... and just about everything else since the 1980s

  • you got rude talk... you got wild walk... all your jokes are blue...

    (Justin Bieber)

  • how anybody can say a bad word about slade. must be mad

  • Screw twisted sister....

  • Slade lyrics on all of there songs, just brilliant!!

  • Phalanx? Really? You should at least know the proper usage of the word you trying to insult someone with. Perhaps you meant "phallus"?

  • very good!!

  • heavy metal and punk...years in front,,,nearly in flame

  • I was born the week this tripe was no 1! I horrible!!

  • @73reider then you are the worst thing that happened that week

  • @Orange0Bananas0suck Stick to sucking Bananas or the other phalanx shaped objects you clearly suck judging by your stupid youtube name! Heaven forbid i was ever in your company. Slade were the ugliest, most pointless, talentless atrocity ever to emerge from england in the 1970`s and i include peter sutcliffe in that! Yet you probably make them look like angel faced cherubs, not that ill ever know, THANK GOD!

  • @73reider I'd give Slade 5 out of 10. They are visually interesting and Noddy does have an exceptional voice. None of the band were good looking and, (seeing as it was the Glam era ) they should have worn tonnes of make up to disguise their below average looks!

The best band of the era was The Sweet. I'd give them 10 out of 10.

  • @bossendenwoodconvict Exactly the opposite, I d give the Sweet 5 out of ten and Slade 10+ out of ten. Best and most versatlie rockband ever IMHO

  • @proslade Thanks for your opinion. If you haven't heard them, please listen to "Lost Angels" and "Stairway To The Stars", by The Sweet. I don't think Slade could equal these, but I'll keep an open mind as I haven't heard every Slade song.

  • @bossendenwoodconvict I know Lost Angels, not Stairway to the Stars. I like the last one better than Lost Angels. My point of view is, that the Sweet were one of the best Glam bands, but Slade much more, they played violin and piano ballads, country, blues, punk, funk later even jazz, gospel etc. etc. I think the Sweet did not equal that versatility. Plus, they took songs to a higher energy level I think. But it is nice to hear from someone with a different insight and taste.

  • @proslade Thanks for that. One thing we can probably agree on is that both Slade and The Sweet are ten times more interesting than anything around today.

  • @bossendenwoodconvict I see, but that is a very generic answer! Eeeh my favorite Sweet song is "Life s like oxygen". Brilliant. But there are more. I can recommend you channels here that have 50-100 Slade tracks, proving their versatility and evolving to other styles and genres, but if you prefer to stick with your genaral and generic opinion based on a few 70s hits, (like most other people) than that is pointless. But thanks anyway!

  • @proslade

    It's " Love is like oxygen". :)

  • @FFM0594 Ooooh. Whatever. Slade are superior to the Sweet, so I don t care.

  • @bossendenwoodconvict what a load of bull. Speak for yourself pls. Slade were mastercraftsmen live and in studio. How many Slade songs do you know honestly? You shoud listen to all their albums from 69 to 87 and their B sides before you make another ill informed comment. My guess is that Slade have more truly great tracks just as B sides than you will find in the entire discography of the Sweet. real tunes, not drivel

  • @carlphone I'm actually praising Slade as much as I can. Which are your Slade favourites then?

  • @bossendenwoodconvict No you are praising the Sweet as much as you can on a Slade vid, picuring them as double as superior to Slade. That is simply not real. Of course I don t mind your giving your opinion, don t get me wrong! Eeeeeh check my channel.

  • @bossendenwoodconvict The thing is, Slade wrote their hits, Sweet didn't, apart from a couple as they faded away. End of arguement.

  • @73reider clearly you were the shit for the week

  • @73reider Well while the good was at the top, some shit had to appear at the bottom, thats you, you arsehole.

  • @wisetrucker You must be a defender of hairy ugly people! sorry if i offended your birthright. Now fuck off back to the 1970`s you stain. I think you were in gary glitters gang aswell.

  • @73reider No I was doing a mans job in the army, while you were hanging around toilets.

  • Glam barulhento, baterista headbanger, vocal gritado. Usei muito este 45 rpm para animar a pista !
