Earth's main means of getting CO2 out of the air is plants. The concern is the plants the increased CO2 output coming from humans on top of Earth. Humans are also damaging the regulator thru deforestation.
They shouldn't have said that the scientists "said" that it was because of CO2; they should have said "scientists discovered" that it was because of CO2. Saying "said that" makes it sound like it's just an uninformed, unscientific opinion, or even some faith-based assertion. Global warming is a scientific fact- not an opinion.
This is just one typical example of climate scaremongering.

However this commercial was trying to get your attention and for you to follow it up to their website and actually present you with facts and what you can do to help mitigate the climate change that is happening now.

I'm just glad that things still shock people. We are a society too use to shock being used (see The Shock Doctrine). It's a shame another advert can even assume an incorrect identity and this gets slammed for trying to make people aware of how little they can do to make a difference. Mind I guess at least it's remembered. Shame that so many are too use to making excuses so they can ignore such problems. It's not correct enough? I'm not a climate scientist and therefore I'm open to persuasion from either side of the global warming argument. However, what i do know is propaganda when i see it and sadly I saw it in the form of this UK Government Act on CO2 advertisement.
For as long as guilt, shame and fear continue to be used as motivators for any campaign I suspect that like me, most people will end up being deeply sceptical and wonder what the real motives are behind the distorted facts.

The scariest thing about this is not the ad, its some of the comments of the users. Notice how they are reading? Relying on the media, hearsay, opinions of others who might have their own agenda seems to be what most people do in reality. Imagine climate change does turn out to be a real issue, we all know someone it could affect in the future. Surely then spending a few hours educating yourself has to be well spent? the other option is ignorance, and who fancies explaining that to their kids?

Climate change is happening. It always has happened. The problem is the speed at which it is changing.
BTW, plate tectonics is so slow its effects on climate are nil. (has degrees in geology, geography and archaeology).

If you stick to only scientific peer reviewed publications, man made climate change is an accepted fact. The ozone layer is depleted by chlorinated fluorocarbons used in refrigerants and aerosols, not by CO2 or other greenhouse gases. Since their production has been banned, the ozone layer is regenerating slowly, but since CFCs are highly stable compounds it will take a long time (over 100 years) for them to be broken down and cleared away permanently, allowing the natural ozone layer to re-form itself fully.

This is a very good video, not scary but serious, just what it needs to be.
I know a lot needs to be done by governments nationally and globally but its no use putting all of the pressure on them and thinking its nothing to do with us ordinary people because it is...the minor things we can do, DO make a difference, however big or small, it's a step in the right direction.
We need to step out of our own little selfish worlds and think about the bigger picture.

I'm surprised they forgot to mention about the amount of radiation we release into the air when Nuclear tests are carried out or the amount of Chemicals dispersed when space rockets are launched....
But hey thats not really important is it, It's the things that society can get taxed on...they are the things to cause the most damage ¬_¬.

However this commercial was trying to get your attention and for you to follow it up to their website and actually present you with facts and what you can do to help mitigate the climate change that is happening now.
