my 1991 cucv m1009 blazer has the same engine just no turbo that is a banks on that one right anyway my 6.2 in the blazer is at 500,000 miles and i put transmisson fluid in my diesel i do not think it would have gotten that high with the factory engine with no rebuilds if it was'nt for the trany fulid
Yes! I wouldn't think of selling the truck. I love that little 6-2. I'd like to do something with that ol' 4-speed tranny (install a gear vendors overdrive auxiliary), but I will keep her as she is for now. Dialed back a little on the pump, straight exhaust and turbocharged. Only real thing she needs now is some new rubber on the wheels.
Mine is turbo - and I am sure it is an aftermarket setup. The factory AC was upgraded by the previous owner. I am averaging 23 to 25 mpg if I keep it under 60mph.
that's odd my 6.2L is a old military engine converted to 12v with about 200K on it and the tranny is a th400 with a tow kit and geared in the rear to tow and it get between 22-26 all the time. i never have gotten less then 22 or more then 26mpg
So would I. I tried to get someone or somewhere to mount a camera while I do laps on this track, but alas, it turned out to be a one man show. I will try the next time I head out there.

I wasn't a Chevy fan before I found this truck ... now - I wouldn't be without it.
Gutless wonders, but still worth their weight.

Dialled back on the pump?
U mean u turned the fuelling down and reduced power? to save fuel?
Think urself lucky, diesel costs £4.80/$10 a gallon here!! arrrrrrggghhh.
Sometimes turning the pump down increases fuel consumption as less torque means u have to keep a lower gear in certain conditions.
I turned mine up, got better mpg, but not if driven hard.

even if i baby it i still get at the most 15 mpg. i think its because it has 225,000 on the original 6.2. i don't know could be wrong about that

@farmboy120
check injection timing and airfilter, also get injectors tested, they may be dripping.
Another obvious thing is tyre pressures, keep em pumped up they really sap the mpg.

I'd like to see this from out side, sounds good.
