@211Alucard This is the "parent" car to the Pontiac G8, the HSV VE COmmodore Club Sport. HSV are the performance wing of Holden and very much in business still. GM USA might be in debt, but GM Holden are still making a profit of close to $100 million a year at the moment
wtf's with the chevy badges, arnt the new holden ve engines aussie this time, not amerian, besides why put chevy badge on ther, its a commo, be proud its aussie
@TheFordy05 I wish they would. Wish they kept improving and developing the 5L would've been awesome machine if they had. And so cool in the VE. Especially when the VE's designed totally in australia.
@Holdmypole the best thing holden and HSV done was making the GTRS which was a 308 with a 355 stroker kit placed in the power plant which was AUSSIE made
@TheFordy05, nu ah, the V8's are all LS series and all 100% USA, the last Ozzy V8 Commodore where in 98, 99 VT series 1 and the last of the Utes in the VS
That motor should have gotten a positive displacement blower, instead of a shitty centrifugal. Nothing beast the whine of a +ve displacement blower :D
And to think, they were going to put cars like this in masses on US roads under the Pontiac name. Then Pontiac goes away. Then when the GM heads try to bring it over as a Chevy, the 'treehuggers' jumped in and shut that idea down. It is sickening to know we will never touch cars like that off of the showroom floors.

This car is the HSV Club Sport, from Holden's performance tuning division. Still locally designed and assembled here, exported to several countries
what is this car?...I have a 01' WS6 with lots of goodies and seen this video and friend said it was a ford product and I said damn that fast I still dont like it, but then I seen tha engine say chevrolet and all along I thought it looked like a GTO, but still never seen, heard of them and they look like an old person car no offense thats good in sum cases...tha GTO's with 350hp LS1's ran around 13.90-14.30 at best at gatewat in STL. that I've seen and I went 13.08 stock and 12.49 with LT headrs

they do offer a supercharged option now i think.. you can get the walkinshaw option and hsv sends it to them, puts a whipple on and some other stuff all before you get to pick it up.

Nah i done some racking in a warehouse in clayton business park.. and there was 1/4 of the warehouse on an upper level where walky and HSV stored there cars after they were done.. They had a VZ maloo 1 tonner which looked mint, and a VN 2 door convertable with the badge concept car.. wasnt in very good condition but.. Also they had all the mock up v8 supercars in there that you see around for promos.
If you need exhausts from the headers walkinshaw have a heap behind there body shop, straight off the R8s.. and they are 150$.. they have the springs from the R8's there too but not sure how much they sell them for

Its a surge tank. Makes sure there is enough fuel pressure in cases where the main tank might be nearly empty and you go around a corner, or up a hill, or stop suddenly. Just makes sure there is enough fuel :)
I am true blue "Ford" man and have a F6 Force 6 but I have to say that has got to be one of the hottest V8's and sweet sounding machines on the planet!!!
Awsome mate, this makes me keen to get into a V8 cheers and post more vids?

The 307 VE GTS engine is the LS2 they have a cast number on the drivers side, outside front corner on the top of the cyl head, the number should be 243.
Partly but No - dry sumped engines are used in racing to prevent foaming of the oil when used in high output motors. There is more oil than usuall (double) travelling from A to B in a dry sumped car thus the benefit is longer servicing intervals and coooler oil; plus a lower center of gravity. The other main reason for a dry sumped engine is that most big block engines don't leave any room for the oil pan thus relocating it elsewhere.
@newyorkqt1985 This is based on the parent car for the Pontiac G8. The Holden Special Vehicles VE Club Sport is essentially a tuned VE Holden Commodore. Australian designed and built, with tuned engine, suspension, brakes, steering and interior, and of course, more aggressive bodywork. The factory supercharged version puts out well over 420 horsepower Tweaked, the figure has been known to be as high as 600
Legothunder you've actually got your facts wrong. Until the crappy 5.4 modular V8 came into production every 302-351 ever made has produced a higher torque v revs ratio than any 308/304 has.!! A standard AU 5.0 outtorques the first gen3 5.7 (VT Commy) between idle and 4000.
rpm.
On the street torque wins races. Even the 6.2 LS3 lacks bottom end torque, using midrange and top end to make its power. The 5.4 is poxy but I've seen a stock FG XR8 with PD blower make 550rwhp and 1060 nm/tq - not bad
hmmm not a huge fan of either car over the other more of a skyline man myself. but yer how come the 168kw starndard faclon can keep up with the 185kw holden??? think about it the ef-(elstage 1) XR8 keeped up and was faster than the vr, vs hsv!
And the XR8 was a starndard 5.0L no diff than the run of the mill falcon. just a diff computer really
yes vl had a turbo.. but guess what so did the xe and xf falcon. they had to, as the had to have a race car able to keep up with the 8's in the then supercar races. and to be able to race them they had to sell them. 150+ of them i think
Falcon/FPV's will never have the same grunt and torque as a HSV. What you just said is exactly the same as saying that a Tata Nano wil get around the 35% of Autobahn in germany faster than a Thrust SSC. Obviously ain't gonna happen, so that means, that the HSV sounds way better. The whine and grunt of the HSV makes for a true Australian Muscle car. Ford on the other hand, has tried to turbocharge something, and supercharge another. Too many ricers working at Ford Australia.
new ford V8's are overcomplicated and suffer becuase of it, quad cam 5.4l just can't produce the power of the 6 litre push rod 8 that holden drop in their cars. F6's destroy HSV's though, theres nothing rice about being the fastest Australian production car with only a 4 litre engine. before you bother to say it, yes the W427 is slightly quicker, but it costs 155k and there aren't many of them, F6 will beat every other stock holden or HSV though, the tests don't lie
if you say so, I've seen 1200rwhp gt's running on methanol, but you're right, this gts would smoke any ford piece of shit........ typical response from an idiot, you're the reason people hate commodores and their drivers
mate how can u say that the holden whine and grunt makes for a true aussie car...the engine isnt even aussie...and im not a biased bloke...i like both holden and ford but i gta admit that having heard both the gts and the gt at full throttle, the ford sounds way tougher than the holden...holden only sounds good in the cabin but ones ur outside its very silent n lazy
My mate uncles got one with a walkinshaw kit and his spent about another 10 grand on proformance parts so far. Smokes everything. Beat a porsche g3 so easy it was shame full.
Awesome Jedisafari, my dad has a HSV GTS (317 one) and is looking at getting an exhaust, air filter and some other stuff from walkinshore (I think thats how you spell it) melbourne... Hopefully he will get it done soon.

There is more oil than usuall (double) travelling from A to B in a dry sumped car thus the benefit is longer servicing intervals and coooler oil; plus a lower center of gravity. The other main reason for a dry sumped engine is that most big block engines don't leave any room for the oil pan thus relocating it elsewhere.

its a surge tank to make sure engine has always got a constant fuel supply even if all your fuel in the tank is right at the back

this is a Holden VE 307 GTS,
no it dose not compare to the 09 Mitsubishi evo, and in a few ways yes, it does compare to the pontiac GTO
CodyLeeWatson 2 years ago
what kind of car is this and who makes it? and is it compared to our pontiac v8 or ours 09 evo?

ive seen this car in action.... and its performance is amazing
45Mang 2 years ago

The 5.4 is poxy but I've seen a stock FG XR8 with PD blower make 550rwhp and 1060 nm/tq - not bad
keithjackson302 2 years ago
you're seriously dumb if you think ford make faster 'stock' cars.
pewpewjinkz 2 years ago
hmmm not a huge fan of either car over the other more of a skyline man myself. but yer how come the 168kw starndard faclon can keep up with the 185kw holden??? think about it the ef-(elstage 1) XR8 keeped up and was faster than the vr, vs hsv!
And the XR8 was a starndard 5.0L no diff than the run of the mill falcon. just a diff computer really

This comment has received too many negative votes show
if holden so good then why has ford still got faster cars?
fusiT 2 years ago
lol, ford should forget theyre v8's like they did in the 80's n stick to the turboed 6's
sucksqueezebangblow 2 years ago
im a ford man and i think the same! have seen some tuff ford v8's on here still. but as new cars go the holden v8 is better for now!
moev250 2 years ago
lol thats was the holdens u idiot... that had the turbod 6 in the 80's.... not ford
JET87T 2 years ago
yes vl had a turbo.. but guess what so did the xe and xf falcon. they had to, as the had to have a race car able to keep up with the 8's in the then supercar races. and to be able to race them they had to sell them. 150+ of them i think
ikarn21 2 years ago
:o im jelaous... how much aus does it cost?
very nice! thanks

pffttt the 800kw falcon sounds way better harden up pussys
elhaych4019 2 years ago

F6's destroy HSV's though, theres nothing rice about being the fastest Australian production car with only a 4 litre engine. before you bother to say it, yes the W427 is slightly quicker, but it costs 155k and there aren't many of them, F6 will beat every other stock holden or HSV though, the tests don't lie
tapper88 2 years ago
oh btw, just so you know the FG F6 has more torque than ANY other Australian car, so stop talking bullshit
tapper88 2 years ago
yeah but this GTS would smoke any Ford piece of shit!!
mujn56 2 years ago
if you say so, I've seen 1200rwhp gt's running on methanol, but you're right, this gts would smoke any ford piece of shit........ typical response from an idiot, you're the reason people hate commodores and their drivers
tapper88 2 years ago
people dont hate commodores only dickheades that get blown off by them
racky427 2 years ago 2
haha dude pritty sure turo ford beats this LOL?
xkunax 2 years ago
mate how can u say that the holden whine and grunt makes for a true aussie car...the engine isnt even aussie...and im not a biased bloke...i like both holden and ford but i gta admit that having heard both the gts and the gt at full throttle, the ford sounds way tougher than the holden...holden only sounds good in the cabin but ones ur outside its very silent n lazy

NOTHING compares to the sound of a supercharged V8.
Nice smooth power too. Looks like it would be fairly easy to handle without ripping yer head off everytime it comes on boost.
