Were the wishes asked in the context of appearance only? Because my wish as a little kid was to have magic powers and lots of money. But then again I did have the advantage of average/skinny weight/beuty. :|
@TheLonelyImmortal Is there something wrong with a person wearing makeup? If a person looks good, then a person looks good. It's about being beautiful and not caring what other people think, because you're able to accept yourself because it's true, you are beautiful. And if she's doing a formal video, makeup is a part of dressing up like she is in it, and as of how our world is right now, makeup is a part of every day life and helps accentuate what's already beautiful.
@lizziepyper You use the word "beautiful" for women, the way I use it for paintings. People are beautiful for their actual bodies, actual faces, and actual hair. Let's say a woman always wore a very beautiful mask which covered her face. She would be beautiful to you, whereas I would point out that she's wearing a mask- the mask is beautiful, not the woman. You confuse the woman with her mask. And "It's tradition" is not an argument. And how is wearing makeup self-acceptance?
It isn't just women who are subject to media standards though, men are also forced to think they should be muscular, 6 foot and 180lbs. They have warped all of our minds.
This message is beautiful and I hope more than anything it does what it is intended to do <3
can I just say im a tall girl, a size 16 (australia) and I love my body and feel beautiful and sexy everyday! I am a musician and perform for people...and hope that i set an example to young girls! i eat very healthily and exercise, this is me and I am proud of it! embrace the health whether it be curves or not!
@idiosynkratic If the video is about bodily acceptance, it's rather out of place for her to be painting over her face and lips in order to look better, wouldn't you say?
I love the message in this campaign. It is a good thing for women & girls to have a realistic look on what's considered to be 'pretty' in our western view of things...
It doesn't mean that ladies have to be under 88lbs to be considerd beautiful in the eyes of 'beauty'magazines.
You CAN be beautiful & healthy at the same time...
And another fact..as a man I can tell you that I prefer looking at a healthy woman over a skinny model dubbed beautiful by 'beauty' magazines...
I agree, there are so many women and teenagers that are hurting their bodies just to obtain a unrealistic goal. I am curvy and have stated on a numerous times that I love my curves, its actually funny the mixed reactions I do get. I feel that we as women and girls are all built differently, so my message would be your beautiful the way you are, confident and strong.

I am proud of the man in this video but it was an interesting choice for the director to choose a man to be in his role, speaking for young women.

LOVE this message! IT is possible to PURSUE beauty, and NOT self-loathing. :) WE can't throw out the baby (beauty) w the bathwater (self-loathing)
