  • this is second only to Miss Gulf Coast CINDY ELIZONDO SHREDS

  • Omg this is so freaking cool!!!!!!

  • Chopin isn't Claude Debussy ??? :-0

  • Are you sure this isn't Schonberg?

  • @makerofjam I am 100% certain that this is Krystian Zimerman performing Chopin. ;)

  • @Kachukeland Listening again I see that you are correct

  • No laughing matter. This man needs a LOT more practice. Doesn't sound gremotely like what it should be.

  • @himitsunosallychan LOL, you know this is a parody, right? I replaced the audio. ;)

  • @Kachukeland

oops. just read the second part of the info. knew something wasn't right...

  • @himitsunosallychan XXXXXDDDDDDDD

  • It is hilarious :D I wish that the part until the mario theme was real Ballade 4 and when you think the coda would start it is THE MARIO THEME

  • I laugh hard everytime I see this.

  • i want to have sexual intercourse with the person who made this.

  • @Wowurgaylol ...

    o.O

  • Wow this locked me up then opened me. The power of the opening then the fluid release of the culmination was both organic and ironic.

  • Well, it's funny I should say. lol. The thing is I like this pianist so much that I can't make any jokes. Well, keep up the good work. Upload more stuff, not on pianists. lol

  • Dear Kashukeland, you shouldn't make fun of a great pianist like Zimerman. Classical music always has its respect. If zimerman sees this, he'll be mad.

  • @Mouhsin123 no no, my friend, I'm not making fun of anyone. I made this video as a joke, and out of respect for Zimerman (much like the "Steve Vai shreds" videos. No one is saying Steve Vai is a terrible guitarist, they're just making a joke out of respect for Steve Vai.) Zimerman is a great pianist, and his performance of the 4th Ballade is one of my favorites.

And, apparently, Zimerman enjoyed this video.

  • dude he sucks

  • so cool.....:))))

  • Holy shit whats funnier then the video is people thinking this is how the 4th ballade actually sounds.

  • wow... chopin is the best composer ive ever heard

  • I cracked up so much when I heard the Super Mario Theme. This made my day :)

  • is this real? :P

  • 51 personas no tienen sentido del humor

  • hahaha 1:05

  • K zimerman needs to see this. Maybe he will come back to america!

  • @korlock3000 someone once sent me a private message via youtube, telling me that Zimerman himself enjoyed this video (they claimed to be close friends with Zimerman.) I don't know if it's true, but I would be honored if Zimerman liked this! :D

  • Good Keith Emerson impersonation ;-)

  • Wow silly me i thought that was really him

  • i actually thought this was real until the mario theme. i thought 'wtf is he he doing?? is this that modern atonal shxt? omg'

  • @anonymousQ45 lol, then i've done my job well...

  • THIS SOUNDS EPICLY AWESOME!!

  • Don't ask me how and why, but I almost broke my jaw laughing so much here :D

  • sounds like modern music

  • @penguinshin LOL that atonal crap!

  • there really needs to be a fart noise at :23

  • One question, though: Where does the people talking/laughing/clapping come from? It sounds familiar to me for some reason...

  • @OrangeSodaKing it's in the sound effects library of iMovie HD6. I also added some of my own voices in the crowd for this video :)

  • why get dressed up for that?

  • love the super mario bros part!

  • omg i thought it was real till 0:58

because you played op 25 no 12 in some different way^^

  • In stark contrast to his perfect technique in real life. He would definitely get a heart attack if he saw this. The funniest thing was that he played the whole thing with a straight face.

And I wasn't expecting the Mario part. I cracked up so much when I heard it that I actually had to sit down on the floor to catch my breath.

    Make more!!

  • @LordCalvinHastings lol, I made another one. Search for it, it's called "Zimerman Shreds 2." I was thinking about making a third one, too.

  • The funniest part is how he gets the five quite chords correctly! And of course, Mario is awesome.

  • @OrangeSodaKing lol, i was working on this piece when i made this, so the chords kinda happened by accident, and i kind of liked it, lol. It set up the mario part well

  • hahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!really funny!!!!!

  • WOW.

  • hahahahahahahahahhahhahahaahahahhahhahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahhahahaha

    i can't stop laughinggggggggggg

    ahhhhaaahahahahhhahahahahahahhahahahahahahahah

  • hahahaha super mario bros

  • I can't get tired of watching this! LOL! Genius!

  • @copodauga lol, i made a second one, search "zimerman shreds 2"

  • Great video, please make another shred video of Zimerman, this one and nr. 2 is among most hilarious shreds I´ve seen, couldnt stop laughing.

  • Zimmerman is the only pianists who for me so far has ever reached the level of perfection.

  • Athletic overworld lol

  • great coda.

  • crazy, haha

  • Dude, you're a genius! LOL

  • LOOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • LOL............

  • jaaaaaaaaaajajajajaja no puedo con esto. que cómico!!!

  • hahaha i love how the quiet chords in the middle are the same as the real ballade. this is awesome! and zimmerman is deff overrated

  • @stupac700 LOL why do people keep saying that Zimerman sucks? I think he's awesome.

  • @stupac700 You are definitely overrated, even though you are probably too insignificant to rate.

  • Comment removed

  • @ostenrt u deffintiely got me there. but for zimmerman, a lot of people dont like his playing nearly as much as other pianists because he doesnt let loose enough during the big climactic parts. he holds back and plays them too obviously. argerich would be the other end of that spectrum, who just shits all over the piano as fast as she can without much restraint during the heavy parts. different strokes for different folks, overrated was the wrong word, hey its fun to be picky sometimes

  • Mr. Z. comes close to doing this entirely on his own, spontaneously. Without any external technical help, with a straight face, he, nevetheless, manages to sound ridiculous much of the time, especially in his Chopin, where he supposedly is some kind of a specialist.

  • @fredericfranc Are you saying you don't like Zimerman as a performer?

  • @fredericfranc Fat, jealous, and bitter is no way to go through life son.

  • Shit, that was awesome!! xD Do you have the sheets for the super mario theme?:)

  • @Zonataz No, i don't have any sheet music, i just arranged it myself. But you can find sheet music for video games online pretty easily

  • Amaaaaazing!!! More!!

  • fantastic! Please do some Argerich pleaseeeeee :)))

  • Seriously, I can't believe this doesn't have more views. This is pure genius, from the impeccable timing in your editing, the obnoxious background talking during the dramatic pianissimo set-up before the Coda, to the incredibly inappropriate cheerful clap-along as a bizarro 4th ballade ending juxtaposed with the real ending of the 4th ballade that is supposed to be uber-tragic. Brilliant!

    Submit more? Kissin, Gould, Argerich?

  • @howdilydoodily LOL i've thought about making a Horowitz one, but it seems a small target audience. If I make another one, I'll dedicate it to you.

  • @howdilydoodily BTW, great analyzation of the 4th Ballade, and my remix. It's like this video was exactly your taste in music and comedy. : )

  • He should play like that at the end of that last performance in LA

  • Hahahaha, xd

  • loool

  • Great post, well done, excellent!!

  • LOL!!!

  • perfect!

    ROFL

  • That was AMAZINGNGNGNGNGNGN

  • As a pianist, I gotta say that was hilarious.

  • as a pianist, i gotta say that I had fun making it, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! lol

  • Cadence ROX! XD

  • omg if only Zimerman would see it ;D

  • lol pure genius

  • Still sounds better than Bartok and atonality.

  • If you have the software, how great it would be to see all these kids and adults gathering around the piano clapping and smiling as he plays the mario part, and the chandelier swinging back and forth.

  • FUNNY !

  • this shred is just pawfect!! hahaha.

  • Awesome!

  • XD waaaaaaaaaaow

  • rofl. Excellent.

  • very well done, honestly. pretty good playing too, when the super mario world came around.

  • dude thats great :D:D

  • I love the talking track during the long chords and the laugh track, too! nice touches.

  • oh my god! that is astounding

  • haha, the first thing that threw me off actually was that the piano has less sustain than the piano in the picture.

  • Hilarious funny stuff ! :))

  • greeeeat!!!

  • BUENISIMO

  • ? haha!

  • OMG, too funny!

  • Прикольно!!))))) особенно продолжение!!!!

  • you are a genius

  • no he doesn't.

  • OMG that is awesome!

  • Hilarously, I can tell it's the f Minor ballade.

  • LOOLLLL

    well freaking done

  • Comment removed

  • ahuauhahahu awesome!!!!

  • Really funny, but you could lose the corny clapping and stuff. I think the piano dub could stand alone.

  • would Zimerman like this or would he take offence. I wonder.

  • Zimerman treats music seriously but he also like to make fun with music - see the opening of the Gershwin Prelude No.1 :)

I don't think he will take offence.

  • 0:33 looks like hes falling asleep and is going to smash his head off the keys haha

  • eyebrows 0:28 haha

  • he rulez!!!!!!111einself

  • super mario world looool

  • hahahahahahah genius

  • rofl, this made my day, well actually thats a lie, but it was pretty cool

  • mpahahahahahahahah!!!!! so funny!!! tha crowd goes wild!!

  • that's silly but SO WICKEDLY FUNNY, it really made my day! :-D

  • This is so funny! And actually quite well done!

  • Haha i love this kind of humor!

    Makes me happy.

  • haaha nice chords on the ballade.

    perfectly terrible

  • Past what?

  • Thats excellent, I love the way some pianists do that thing where they flap their arms right after a big chord as if it really makes a difference to the sound.

"Woah!! I'm so ungulfed by my own power i might just fall over!!!"

  • That is talent, wickedly done, it's not easy to shred the masters of music.

    Well Done:)

As for mr no life below, there's talk back radio for boring fuks like u, give them a call.

  • you low life..... learn to respect talent.

  • It's a joke. If he wasn't insanely talented it wouldn't be funny.

  • @filfanmarfot get a sense of humour.

  • go on kachu and play mario.I gues you do that in Afghanistan after shooting some defensless kids. What a trushy videoclip. US politics sacks.

  • Krystian Zimerman shocked the audience of LA Walt Disney Concert Hall on Sunday when he stopped mid-show saying that he would no longer perform in a country whose military wants to take over the world.

  • Okay, guys, enough politics. This is a silly video I made in honor of one of my favorite performers. I don't judge him by the country he's from or what that country may represent. Please, be respectable.

  • My teacher was there.

    : (

  • see ya if your unhappy with the us don't come and play Krystian Zimerman

  • he's not going to. he already made that clear.

  • polish wins

  • Hysterical, especially the opening section! Bravo!!!

  • BRAVO!!! Excellent work and great attention to detail. Keep it up, you're great!

  • i lol'd

  • I love Zimerman, but this vid is awesome;pp

  • Awesome playing!

  • great !!

  • QUE PENDEJO ESTA HUEVADA JAJAJA! NO PARE DE REIR EN LA PARTE DE LA BALLADE 4 De CHOPIN

  • Silly!

  • GREAT JOB dude!!! This is the best shred on yt :D

  • lol!

  • hahahahah, that is awesome.

  • pinche kabron xD

  • THIS IS WONDERFUL....!

  • This is so best dude :D.

    Gratz

  • it's a tribute, man, get over it.

    I love Zimerman

  • You posted the same comment on Oscar Peterson Shreds, and from the looks of it you just copy/pasted it here.. Quit wasting your time and deal with the problems in your life that make you think the way you do.

  • are you crazy?im a studied pianist and like zimmermann a lot,but i also love this vid.your report is laughable,no one cares about a blinkered person.

  • lol?

  • I haven't laughed that hard in a while. Thanks!

  • freaken genius! humour!

  • This video is laugh-out-loud FUNNY! Thanks for posting it! My burst of laughter brought the fam into "the book room," and all 4 of us here at RiceHouse ended up laughing together... probably loud enough that a couple neighbors will be knocking on the door momentarily... :-)

  • oops, the previous comment was supposed to be a reply to dalecampbl5 (see below) re his suggestion that classical musicians should do this every once in a while at concerts...

  • Hahaha this video has made my day!

    Thank you!

  • classical pianists should play something like that ever once in a while in concert

  • LOL! We do exactly what you're suggesting ... it's fun, audiences love it ... we probably do this because our earliest mentors were the 2 long-time "ragtime guys" at Disneyland (our classical-purist friends say that it's as though we were raised by wolves). One of my favorites: telling our audience that I'm going to play the piece which, as I understand it, the young Beethoven used to play when he wanted to irritate his parents ... and then I launch into the Boogie Woogie I arranged... :-)

  • haha very clever!

  • HAHAHAHA!!! i'm a pianist and know these works all of my life...but i have to say THANK YOU for the LAUGHS!!! it's just like the days i used to have fun with fellow pianists doing it exactly like that! just for the heck of it!

  • It would be nice if the "performer" (not Zimerman) would explain that he has replaced the

Zimerman performance with his own version. At first I though Z was playing this cute crap.

  • lol gotcha!

well, i did put it in the video description. I thought it would give it away if i announced that it was replaced audio.

  • I personally wish you had left 'parody' and 'shreds' OUT. The lack of humor from thosewhotakemusicwaytooserious crowd, demands you mess with them. Do another one that implicates a serious recording of him and watch the fun on text comments really begin! BTW you are a great player...

  • Yeah, really needs explaining....maybe every parody on YouTube should be diagrammed so those with no sense of humor can at least nod and follow along...good grief.

  • This is a serious matter indeed, and I will be contacting the appropriate authorities...

  • Your lack of any jocosity is indeed a serious matter. I will be contacting the appropriate authorities as well. Reporting you as a genuinely humorless smacktard will go down as my first major accomplishment of the new year.

  • Thank you for the lovely label - a wonderful way indeed to begin the New Year.:) I wish you many more major accomplishments!

  • I am a great fan of Krystian Zimerman and in fact consider him the greatest pianist I have ever heard.

and I think he will smile at this as did most of us! It is very obviously a joke.

  • "At first I though Z was playing this cute crap."

LoL! You have GOT to be kidding! It is made crystal clear in the video description that this is, in fact, NOT Mr. Zimerman playing.

Sigh. and this is why we can't have nice things...

  • No one is stopping you from having nice things. It's unfortunate, though, that people have to put up with morons like me.

  • It is incredibly unfortunate actually.

We can't have nice things if 0.1% of the people who are offended by a video that the other 99.9% find highly amusing go off whining to youtube.

Considering youtube's tendency to delete anything that even remotely hurts anyone's feelings, your obnoxious little stunt may very well succeed.

  • The coda is very difficult to play, but Mr Zimerman plays it with great ease, as we can see and hear in this performance.

  • Hahaha...that was good. :P
