My father owns a fine pair of Binoculars and I often used to go out on a clear, dark night and look up at the stars. With the naked eye, one can only see about 2-4,000 stars but with a pair of binoculars that is increased by many fold. It is quite amazing what one would never know of, or see, without such a simple tool.
Here in the rolling hill woodlands of east Texas you can't see but a stone's throw in any direction. In the sand ocean of south Iraq optical technology was invaluable to me. I imagine it's the same in the grass oceans of the prairies.
I like the thought provoking videos you put out..
I also remember raking leaves, don't remember getting paid though, we were expected to pitch in, our pay was supper on the table. We can't burn here, unless its over charcoal, or a fireplace. Too dry and dangerous. Besides.. ya can't have a bonfire with cactus needles :) thanks for sharing!
You might be able to stick your camera right up to that scope and video record far distances clearly. I attach my digital camera to my rifles all the time.
i agree with you ... altho i would not call them a weapon b/c the meaning of weapon is "instrument used with the aim of causing damage or harm" i would rather call them a tool
Your blowgun is a very impressive instrument Mr Bill. I'll have to find one myself somewhere.
That burning barrel brought back memories of Fall, back in the days of my youth. We can't burn leaves here in the big city these days - just firewood in the fireplace and charcoal in the grill.
so true mr bill. i had a pair but they broke when we moved a few weeks ago. they would also help in a survival situation when you need to see if there are bears or and cliff or something.
hey could you review your blowgun

ya might have to do that sometime, I do like the 50 cal. much better than my 40 cal.
and I like 4 footer over 3, except getting in and out of car. but once on a walk it is
so light wieght in the pastures that it is a blessing.
if it is legal where you are, and some room to rome, it is quite, and dealy on small critters,
thanks for contact

yep binoculars can be a tool, toy and even a weapon.
I know some that pay hundreds for a pair, but I
spend around $20 and the 30 power cost me $30.
not great quality but good enough for this ol boy.
thanks for contact.

I have over the years had kids worried about bullies and seeing kids a few block away
ask for my scope to see if it was or not,
sad they seem to have money for video games but not for something that might
be useful.
thanks for contact

Great video and kudos for staying on your toes when Nebraska state police tried setting you up, what a darn shame that is

Foresight makes for a pretty good weapon also. It'has saved me in some cases and the lack of it at times has just about done me in.

I was paid by some of the older women & men at a town near us to rake and burn leaves. 50 cents a hour.
so after work day on the farm, I headed to town to makes a bit of money that way.

better sight keeps the predators from killing you, that makes it one of the best weapons you carry. for without
sighting him first, your mama will get a very sad letter.

you can get a 50 cal on internet, think I paid $20, more power than the 40
and yet does not need conan lungs that the 62 cal requires.
burn barrel is for sure forbidden, I use one now and then in McCook, but
cover the fire with screen, when doing mad Scientist experiments in the back yard.
Burning leaves in my youth was one way I made money, raking then burning, got 50 cents an hour.
