What kind of ignorant, servile bigots dare to tell us that we have to submit to their "allah"? How dare they presume to be able to tell us how to live! How dare they presume to "punish" us for not being the subserviant, mindless morons that they tell us to be! Free your mind - NO RESPECT FOR ISLAM!
Case in point, terrorism works and damn is it working. As for Obama, he's one of those dirty evil closet Atheists *sarcasm* who converted to Christianity merely to get vote (he even says so in one of his books). Although he was born Muslim, there's a reason why he resigned from it. So I don't worry too much about Obama signing the Anti-Blasphemy Resolution.
He resigned from it to infiltrate the American Government.....and the rights of the American people. Don't think for one damn second that he does not have an agenda.
If the UN passes this as binding, what will the US do? (assuming the US will be agains it) I mean will the US be required to make a law that protects anything that threatens a religion? Or will the US withdraw from UN? ( I like this idea :P)
It's a non-binding resolution. We didn't sign it, but it did pass.
Basically, the Muslim countries cannot enforce it on us.
However, Britain and Canada already have limits on free speech. Be glad you are an American. I mean, we have a lot of fat retards here, but we are still free to speak our minds.
"And contrary to U.N. wisdom, the exercise of constitutionally protected free speech is not a license to threaten or incite personal violence." (from the article in the 2nd link on this video).
Which is exactly what the Muslims tend to do. This resolution is the pinnacle of hypocrisy. We can't criticize their religion, but they still scream for the death of the infidel.
I must admit, this resolution have me worried, but I still have 'faith' that reason and freedom will win through in the end.
The Muslims in the UN are trying to get condemnation of Israel and silence Western criticism of Islam. Only Muslims signed the resolution. If it passed, it is only a paper tiger.
I didn't read the comments on this vid. Hopefully someone else already made this observation. The resolution against criticizing religion is about preventing westerners from trashing islam. Pure and simple. Ever since 911, westerners have decided islam is not compatible with western civilization...at least not the brand of islam practiced by the middle east fanatics. There should be no doubt in our minds what this is really about. And yes, I believe obama would whole heartedly support it.
We've tamed MOST of the Christians and Jews to the point where they can be reasoned with since the Enlightenment. The same cannot be said about the MAJORITY of Muslims and A NUMBER OF their governments. I don't like it, but sometimes you have to pick distasteful allies.
Yeah, Christians are being held back by modernity, most Christians I'd say are rather liberal, but that allows certain radical fringe movements within Christianity to get more slack since they see modernity as detemental to their faith.
Take creationists for example probably the most dangerous fringe movement in U.S today, they're atrocious when it comes to censorship, same kind of censorship Muslims use, this could throw use back into another Dark age allowing Muslim Radicals to take over.
Oops sorry, meant to comment to you on my user name I use to talk about religion and politics, I usaully just use my LordMalice account to browse. lol
I think the Creationists are a problem because they dupe others quite knowingly with faulty reasoning designed to hustle a very unrealistic agenda. They seem to want to return to some 1950s era of moral perfection that never actually existed. They watched too many of Leave It To Beaver episodes and mistook it for their childhood. The 1950s were a time of racial segregation and McCarthy's witch hunts.
There is supposed to be a follow up treaty to make this international law in the countries that sign the treaty.
However, it will also vilify the Israelis, which is why most of the West boycotted the UN council on racism the first time the Muslims tried this in 2001.
The whole thing is really about Israel and the Muslim world. You know, the Muslims can't produce as many Nobel Prizes or win a war against the Israelis, but they outnumber them.
During the campaign Obama gave a speech where he quite boldly supported complete separation of church and state, which I thought was quite inspiring, I'm hoping he is going to keep his word about that. Fingers crossed.
It turns out this whole thing is really just a Muslim tactic to denigrate Israel. They can't win a war against 7 million Israelis, but since they are a billion in number, they can conjure some global "legislation."
Obama is surrounding himself with intelligent people who are at the top of their game *the best and the brightest*.He'll get sound advice on this, and nothing will *get past* him. He isn't george bush who would sign anything his buddies insisted they needed.
Do check out the Huffington Post..the best free online newspaper ever. Cutting edge political content, imported from all the major papers plus editorial material. THE BEST. Couldn't get through the day without my huffpost.
Even Bush refused to send anyone to the last UN council on racism in 2001. It quickly became apparent that it was just an excuse for the Muslims to bitch about Israel and justify their own persecution of liberal Muslims that are trying to pull the Islamic world out of the seventh century.
Turns out the thing is sort of a global joke. Even France boycotted the first one.
Holy shit! Has the UN become so friggin backwards-assed that it's resorted to outlawing saying things against religion? Did I seriously read that article properly?!
I've doubted humanity for awhile now because of religions going to war. To outlaw saying "Hey you fucktards, stop fighting over your invisible friend" is ridiculous.
Please tell me I read that wrong. please please please....
In France they already have this law. Brigitte Bardot has already been fined a couple of times on this account i.e. defamating Islam (or was it incitement to hatred against Muslims?)
Canada has laws limiting free speech too. They tried prosecuting a Jewish lawyer, and he taped it and put it here on YouTube. His outrage is extremely hilarious.
CAIR has tried to go after various groups for libel and slander here in the U.S., but since all the allegations are true, they have always failed to produce the documentation that would have gotten their propaganda front in real legal trouble. Muslims hate the First Amendment.
obama wont sign it, he has been critized about religion all thru the campaign and now that hes in he wont do something that makes it look like hes siding with muslims because he knows the rednecks will go berserk on his ass
Seriously, I find Christians deplorable and backward, but the Muslims are an even more insidious threat to Enlightenment principles.
With Christians, you can at least stir their blind nationalism as a means towards an end to get them to embrace freedom, but the Muslims WANT to be subjugated by a repressive theocracy. Muslim means, "one who submits to god." They are willing slaves to the jabbering of a 7th century lunatic.
It had more to do with the later portion of your rambling. A poetic warning of blind faith & denial. Most of us mess with Xians because they are the easiest to laugh at while other theists have compelling arguments & more style.

I guess I'll be thrown in prison.
Don't worry, I'm scrappy. If someone tries to rape me, I'll pummel their testicles and then tear their throat out with my teeth.
I imagine that I'll spend a lot of time in solitary.

So technically Cadicus would you support Judeo-Christian values if in the end it meant helping to steming the tide of Radical Islam?

Good.
I wasn't happy about my tax dollars going to faith based charities, even if they wouldn't be allowed to discriminate against non-believers.
