  • I think i just came watching this. The guitar behind his head makes him look tied up mmm...its a good look.. ;)

  • oh my mr johns.

  • that was a pretty bad ass concert silverchair my fav band of all time good seeing them i hope they come back silverchair owned the concert shins modest mouse sucked

  • I fell asleep during The Shins...I only liked Silversun cause they made a shout out to MJQ my fav club in Atlanta..Silverchair owned the show. Daniel was the only frontman that night.

  • I love this song, freak. I was there at that concert.

  • where was this?

  • Atlanta at the Gwinnett Arena

  • Just had to let the other chair fans here know that they were NOT alone. Without a doubt silverchair was the BEST band at Mistletoe Jam! NO COMPARISON! Modest Mouse? Don't make me laugh, we were beating a path out of there as fast as we could so we wouldn't have to hear it! The Shins? Too twangy-sounding & no personality. Silversun Pickups were pretty good tho.

  • i agree chair took the show, but the shins were awesome too, i didnt hear the pickups i was getting chair autographs

  • Silversun were good, shins meh.. left after Silverchair.. ONLY REASON I WENT WAS FOR THE CHAIR!!!

I even had a guy at my college say he hated chair, then right after this song "Freak" He was texting me asking the titles of the songs.. =D

    I LOVE THE CHAIR!!!

  • silverchair=best performance hands down. true, they may have a smaller fanbase in the US than MM... but the fans they have here are extremely dedicated and passionate about their music!

it was kinda frustrating to not see more SC fans there, but their fanbase in the states will get bigger no doubt! =]

plus, from what i could see the crowd was pretty unreceptive for every band, not just SC... they were being so lame. i was glad when daniel told everyone to "stand the fck up!"

  • mdlovell82...If you think Silverchair sux so bad...then why are you bothering to view them on Youtube? If you're going to be a negative prick then go do it somewhere else. You'll be out-voted here. You don't see us going onto clips of Modest Mouse at Mistletoe commenting about how we think they are talent-less, frat-boy punks do you?

  • hey there jessieface, all i was doin was backing my favorite band after i read the disagreements already on the page. i was wathcing the clip b/c i wanted to get another good laugh at the worst concert ive ever seen in my life; yeah given it wasnt their crowd... blah blah, it was still an aweful gig.

  • Yeah... I'm sure that's why you checked out the clip. What are you...12? We've already determined you have no musical taste, if Modest Mouse is your 'favorite band'. Let it go, and happy holidays to ya!

  • "a good laugh at the worst concert you've every seen in your life"... are you kidding me? were you even there during the silverchair performance?? it was amazing. did you stay 'till the end of your precious modest mouse? i was so bored i was falling asleep, and on top of the boredom during mm's performance they gave the weakest ending to a concert ever. basically just Merry Christmas... see ya!!!

  • the lead singer to silverchair was the most arrogant prick ever. modest mouse killed them made silverchair's music eat their shit with a side of more shit.

BUT, i do agree that mm's ending was not satisfactory, although The View isnt such a bad way to go out

  • they were the best at the concert

  • they kicked ass. SOOO much better than modest mouse. ive heard all of their stuff, and i just can't get into it. silverchair (regardless of who you like more musically) was hands-down the best performance.

  • silverchair are by far THE best live performers of my generation. To say that silverchair don't have fans in Atlanta is crap. Their show at the Roxy in July was sold out, and people were paying big bucks for tickets. I don't think silverchair fit with the line-up at MTJ, which is part of the reason why the crowd wasn't as receptive.

  • silverchair blows goats. modest mouse was the headliner for that reason. no where near as many people know daniel johns compared to isaac brock or johnny marr. i do admit frogstomp was a bad ass album, but thats the only one

  • you should get your facts straight before you say that no one knows who silverchair is. modest mouse may be more popular in the states, but silverchair has been around for more than a decade are very widely known internationally. just because people in atlanta didn't seem to have a clue that they existed doesn't mean that they didn't. daniel johns is a musical genius. the music has grown and elaborated with the band. they didn't try to keep the same sound as frogstomp just to keep fans.

  • facts huh... modest mouse has been playing since 1993. yeah im sure silverchair is more popular with the aussies, but not in the USA

  • just look how many views each band has gotten on myspace; last time i checked it was worlwide

  • as i said before, modest mouse may be more popular in the states, but silverchair is more widely known internationally. they obviously appeal to different audiences. i have no problem agreeing to disagree. i'd take silverchair over modest mouse any day, and i'm sure you'd take modest mouse. the end.

  • isaac brock would kick danny boy's ass. the official end.

  • Awesome show, but I wish there were more Silverchair fans there...Although they dominated the arena, Dan REALLY had to work the crowd. He is used to a much stronger vibe. It was watered down with people who were there for The Shins, Modest Mouse and Silver Sun Pickups.

  • Watered down?

Modest Mouse was HEADLINING. If anything, the Silverchair fans watered the show down.

  • Ha ha ha. You're a riot. I had never even HEARD of modest mouse before this concert was announced. Silverchair is ten times bigger and has been around for over a decade. They added this show to their 8 month tour as one last gig before taking a flight back to Australia from Hartsfield. I'm shocked they were willing to share the stage and NOT headline, but it shows how much they just love performing. Daniel Johns is iconic. Modest Mouse?? Are you joking??

  • I had never even heard of Silverchair before the show. I guess they just appeal to two different groups of people.

It's no doubt that Silverchair was good, but Modest Mouse brought the house down, and that was DAMN obvious =]

  • We left right after Silverchair. We listened to Modest Mouse on 99x on the way home. You're right they were good, and I wasn't trying to say they weren't. Just that silverchair is a more widely known band internationally. I have a big head about them right now because I got to meet them before the show last night and, to me, there is no one better. Sorry if I came off like a jerk. I'll listen to more Modest Mouse, if you'll listen to more Silverchair. I promise you won't be disappointed!

  • i COMPLETELY agree with you. silverchair was awesome. the best band there, and they definitely gave the best performance. daniel is an amazing musician. i wish there had been more silverchair fans there as well. hardly anyone was even standing for them. i stood up during the performance, and the people behind me got pissed off!! i couldn't believe it.

  • that concert was sick
