@evelsteev Ok, on that idea that it's either an afterlife or not, it comes down to what you want to believe. Forget religion for a moment. What would you rather be true. You have no evidence of either being right or wrong. So what would you look more forward to being right?
@evelsteev It's not about evidence. There is no concrete evidence for either side. It's all about what you want to believe. Is there something after this life? Or just plain death?
@thatjimguy Either side? There's only one "side" and that's the side that claims there's a god, Jesus, as well as Krishna, Zoroaster, etc. There's just plain death. If people are afraid of that, it's time to grow up. I mean, even though we know a movie is eventually going to end, it doesn't meant we can't certainly enjoy the hour and a half, no?
The true question would be... why did you join the church (and essentially lied) if you didn't believe in Joseph Smith? And if you once believed, but no longer do, then why remain in the church? One is responsible for their own choices and one may choose to leave the church. The church wouldn't kick you out for denying Smith. They'd assume that they would leave upon denial of Smith.
If you don't believe in joseph smith you get kicked out? I don't know about that, but we do sustain him or recognize him as a prophet if not why join it as christ's church? That is the basis. If we don't belive he is what he said he was and that is a prophet of god then we just join another church to where we will think whatever is right! I personally know joseph smith is a prophet! His major focal point is to bring those faithful to him closer to him and that is my goal as well!
Nonsense. How could you not believe Joseph Smith existed? No one ever got "kicked-out" for that, nor would anyone be excommunicated for not accepting him as a prophet. . Perhaps it was a little unbelief and alot of adultry.
@awolLDSasap What are you trying to imply and ah why do believe anything Todd Freil says you can say a bird said this to you and it would be more believable than what Todd Freil says.
I don't believe that we are saved by grace through faith and not of works according to paul. But I believe in Jesus Christ, why can't I go to heaven? The question is a little double standard, I do this all the time.
@jwnaugle Christ taught us how we are to love him. One form of worship towards Christ that is not readily recognized is following the commandments and following the example of Christ (John 14:15). Many people believe that worship is just praying to God and going to church sure these are all good things. But what does worship mean? To render religious reverence and homage (respect) to (dictionary com). So anything that brings respect, honor, or reverence towards Christ is worship. Otherwise
@BOON70 Your message inspires me man. Its a bit of a wake up call how much a waist of time it is to argue and contend about doctrine. Thanks for the message my friend, I respect you.
as leeuniverse stated. part of our religion is believing that God has a living prophet on the earth. to not belive in JS. would be the same as saying the BoM is not the word of God. I've never heard of anyone getting excommunicated for that. maybe they were preaching against our doctrine, then was asked to stop and if they did not stop then they would be kicked out of the congregation. only the first presidency (prophet and 2 counselors) and the 12 apostles can excommunicate members.
Well.... Maybe kinda for the same reason YOU would get kicked out of your religion if you didn't believe in Paul, or didn't believe in the Bible, and THEN was publicly promoting it in Church or to the world.
Your arguments are "dumb" in every case buddy.... Double standards, hypocrisy, etc.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, does not kick people out. I thought you said you were a missionary? I find that very very hard to believe you were ,and don't know this simple truth. In fact, I will stop here and say you never have served point blank.
@jamescgale You are right if anything people kick themselves out by getting excommunicated. Any person who gets excommunicated knows what they did and why their out of the church.
What did God give his Son. Question why doesn't this scripture say himself. Why do the scriptures when the prophecy of what would Christ would do why do they say God would sacrifice his Son? Why doesn't it just say himself? Again it doesn't take rocket science to figure this out.
@awolLDSasap The only begotten means "the only One" but then he go to quote this scripture Gal 3:20 Now a mediator is not [a mediator] of one, but God is one. They work together as one to fulfill a purpose. What is that purpose? So do you believe that the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost are three different beings?
wouldn't that mean we are brothers? This doesn't take rocket science to figure out. I don't know what your trying to point out when you quote Phil 2:5, Mark 12:29, and Gal 3:20. We have already discussed along time ago that can't be true that Jesus is the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost. John 17 I think explains that enough that is not what is meant by it. Even the scripture so commonly people put on their shirt John 3:16 shows that For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son
For according to the words of the prophets, the Messiah cometh in six hundred years from the time that my father left Jerusalem; and according to the words of the prophets, and also the word of the angel of God, his name shall be Jesus Christ, the Son of God. 2 Ne 25:19
@BOON70 that's hilarious! Did you know that was stolen from the New Testament? This is Christ....Jhn 1: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word WAS GOD. 4 IN HIM WAS LIFE; and the LIFE was the LIGHT of men. 5 And the LIGHT shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Christ was never a spirit brother to anyone..
This is Christ.... Phil. 2: 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in CHRIST JESUS...being in the FORM OF GOD, thought it not robbery to be EQUAL WITH GOD: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: Mar 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments [is], Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: Gal 3:20 Now a mediator is not [a mediator] of one, but God is one.
boon... 1 God has not changed and sin is still sin. 2 He is the destroyer of the Old Testament. 3 His wrath will be upon anyone that changes his Word or identity. 4 The only begotten means "the only One".
Obedience to law will never make a person worthy to God. Think about it.
@awolLDSasap No where does it say that nor does it say that their. Where did Christ come from? He is called the "Son" of God and what does he call God? "Father". Christ gives us the example of prayer. What does he tell us to call God? Matt 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: "Our Father" which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. We don't say His Father or Christ Father we say "Our Father". Even on the cross he calls God "Father". So I ask again If Christ and all of us have the same Father
@BOON70 I have repeated this many times before. The Father is NOT the Son, but God is (1). God is spirit and a consuming fire. No one has seen the Father, but the Son. Is it beyond your comprehension to understand the Almighty is capable of multitasking?
@awolLDSasap What did Stephen see Acts 7:55-56? The right hand of God the Father but lets be real he actually saw God? Question if it is life eternal that we know the Father and his Son how is it we are going to know him if we can never get to see him? We even read in the scriptures that Enoch walked with God Gen 6:22. So this whole time Enoch is walking with God he never saw him? Moses saw his face Gen 32:30
@awolLDSasap You mean the identity that is from the scriptures. That for some reason takes rocket science to understand even though its written plainly in the scriptures.
@BOON70 Yes, more to come. History shows that Joseph Smith was a malignant narcisist. He was caught in a lie, commited adultery multiple times and stole money. He gave many false prophecies and blackmailed people for their salvation.
There is only 1 good person, and that person is Jesus. There is only (1) that is good, and that is God. Jesus has said, if you do not believe that [ I Am ] you will die in your sins. Who is Jesus according to your church?
@awolLDSasap Well I can't speak on behalf of the whole church but I am sure if you look it up at lds org you will find your answer. But who do I say Christ is? Many years ago some one was asked the same question and he said Thou art the Christ, the Son of the Living God (John 16:16). But what does the Book of Mormon say of Christ from its stand point.
I got a great idea for you why don't you get a black permanent marker. What you actually mean is what I try to support is not confide with your doctrine of the scriptures or your gospel. It is biblical and can be found in the scriptures. I have even showed you. Question where does it say in the Bible we can not become like God? Question why in the Lords prayer it says "thy kingdom come" the people had already received it through baptism. Why does it say "thy kingdom come"?
@BOON70 NO. Josephs new religious texts do not agree with the original. Why are you trying to squirm away from something Gordon B. Hinkley admitted in conference, that you have another god.
@awolLDSasap Yeah another God that comes from the Bible all other religions believe you can not understand God that he is uncomprehendable. If that is true non of us our going to make it. John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
various other places in the Bible. So question should we rip the Bible in half after Duet 4:2 and call it good? Or what is actually meant? Where does it say in the scriptures word for word that God will no longer bring forth any more scripture. Let me guess where it says he hath fulfilled. Problem You have alot of books after John. Maybe we should rip up the Bible after John and call it good or do you want to Duet. Oh wait you just want to cherry pick.
Please watch this video. it is called ARE MORMONS CHRISTIAN? 7 points to ponder , please listen to these words. A lot of your questions should be answered.
will be also noted that Christ says nothing to dispel or correct the presupposition. Here is incontrovertible support for a doctrine of human preexistence. It is perfectly reasonable to surmise on the basis of this episode that Jesus and his followers accepted preexistence and thought so little of it that the question of prenatal sin did not even call for an answer.
Teacher had a perfect opportunity to correct His students. His answer is recorded in John 9:3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. Jesus then proceeded to heal the man, foregoing any opportunity to correct the concept of the man having lived before birth. Instead, He acknowledged the concept by saying that the man had not sinned. The question posed by the disciples explicitly presupposed prenatal existence. It
@awolLDSasap Show me one place where the Mormon Doctrine says to glorify men? Don't ignore the question like you usually do either and go on babbling about something else either.
@BOON70 The main doctrine and pupose of the church is to exalt and praise men. Through the power of men, "the priesthood" men think they can give people the Holy Ghost and secure salvation. Omiolo, "in his distorted mind" believes he represents the church. He must spend 16 hours a day on ytube telling stories about might of the church and the achievements of men. Who do you really worship?
@BOON70 LOOK CLOSELY! He didn't say Gods, he said gods, "small g". There are "gods" and even elohim throughout the Bible. All of them have lower case letters meaning rulers, judges, man made gods and idols.
@awolLDSasap Also read John 17 Christ prays we become like Him and the Father. Why did Christ pray for such a thing? Christ never denied either that him and the Father were equal. Is you son your equal? Does your some have the potentiality to become as you are?
@BOON70 you said. ( the problem is every religion out there says that process is different from other religion) Christians believe there is 1 way to salvation, and that way is Jesus. To believe there is another way, "law, ordinance, ceremony" you are a thief and a robber.
@awolLDSasap Nope thats not what I said. You can find ones that baptism is necessary some not, some believe Christ had a resurrected body some not, every religion is different.
@BOON70 I can't think of any Christian churches that teach the grace of God is not sufficient. Mormon doctrine leads a person to believe that grace must be purchased.
@awolLDSasap How do you believe its purchased? Question don't other religions have you do something to be saved? Go to church, read the Bible, be baptized, receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, keep the commandments, pray, and so on. I thought you said you didn't have to do anything to be saved? So which is it you have to do these things to be saved or nothing? Where do we teach that is not suffcient? What does the Book of Mormon say?
@awolLDSasap Question where does the Bible say it will be the only book? Where does it say in the Bible directly word for word that God will no longer call prophets? I know that your probably gonna so will God hath fulfilled. Then why in Acts 29:10 their appears a prophet? Then your probably gonna bring up the scripture in Rev about adding says the same thing in Duet 4:2. Oh my their is a problem here. Their were books after Duet :o. Take note it says that 6x in Duet 4 in Isa, 1 in Phillip, and
@BOON70 There is NO Act chapter 29. The prophet in Acts is talking about Jesus.
I never said that scripture couldn't be added to the Bible. Any discovery of new scripture must agree with the original. Joseph Smith didn't add more to the book of Revelation. He removed and inserted words in Revelation.
@awolLDSasap Question do you think should be corrected Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord hath not done it? So if the correction Joseph but to this is supposedly false and the Bible is infallible God is a evil man. Question how can the Bible be infallible if the writers (prophets) and scribes were imperfect people?
@awolLDSasap Oh and I like how you avoid my questions. I find it rude Antis ask me questions all the time. Shouldn't they have the same curtsy and do they same?
@BOON70 Men do not become Gods. That is the answer. Again, you have taken your eye off the ball. As a Mormon, you can't firmly say that you have done enough work to been saved, and you go on about becoming a God. Rediculous.
@awolLDSasap John 17 why does Christ pray for us to become one with the Father as he is? Take note in John 10:30-34 saying your one with the Father means you are his equal. The Jews thought this was blasphemy then Jesus quoted Psalms 82:6. Question what did Jesus become after he was resurrected? What does a person seek of a person when they truly love them? To be their servant for eternity or to be their equal? A person that truly loves another does not put them under their boot as a ruling
@BOON70 What you are trying to defend is not Biblical. Jesus was the almighty God before he became human. Try this...... Pro 3:5,6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean NOT on your OWN UNDERSTANDING. In ALL your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths"
@awolLDSasap tyrant. When a person truly loves another they seek to have them as high or higher than themselves rather than abase them under them. This is what it means when in John that those who shall see him as he is. Paul even talks us being heirs to God even as Christ Rom 8:17, Gal 4:7. God even says to those who will overcome will sit with me in my throne Rev 3:21.
@BOON70 "Heirs" does not mean we will become Gods. We become immortal, infinite, like God. 1Cr 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality. You're beating this thing to death and getting no where. You have ANOTHER gospel and a different god.
But you missed a part in what Isaiah says there is none like me Isa 46:9. Why do you suppose he says this? Question what is Isa 44 - 46 about? Isn't about worshiping other Gods? So wouldn't that mean to worship one God that is Christ and none other and there is none like me? Why does he say like me? Might have to do with he is the only one who can offer salvation?
@BOON70 I haven't counted but there must be at least a dozen verse saying this same kind of thing. I [am] the first, and I [am] the last; and beside me [there is] no God. (I am) from everlasting to everlasting. And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments [is], Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: Now a mediator is not [a mediator] of one, but God is one.
AGAIN! How do you get many Gods out of these verse?
@awolLDSasap In answering my questions of course. I always answer you but you seem to either partly, avoid, or change the subject. People talking to you in real life find that rude. Don't you think it would be rude here as well?
@awolLDSasap You mean when I ask questions you don't answer. I think it rude to not answer when I answer yours. But what about Isa 46:9 oh wait I forgot usually Antis cherry pick the scriptures. Otherwise they pick out what scriptures they like and forget the rest. You mention 1 Cor 15:53 that is just talking about the resurrection. I notice you use Pro. 3:5,6 question when another religion differs from you do they ever say the same thing to you? I beat they do.
@BOON70 That question contradicts your own doctrine about the deity of Christ. You don't believe that Jesus is equal to the Father. Let me tell you what the Bible says. There is 1 God and He knows of no others.
disciples thought one possible answer to the blindness of the man was that he had sinned. Since he was born blind a fact the record indicates that both Jesus and His disciples knew then the wording of the question indicates that the sinning must have taken place before the birth of the man, by the man himself. How could the man have sinned, resulting in a punishment of being blind at birth, unless he had lived before he was born? If the concept of a premortal life was in error, then the Master
@BOON70 And what did Jesus say? He didn't go on about a premortal existance. He said it was Gods will. This is the problem with Mormonism. You insert things into Biblical verse that are false.
uncreated condition, meaning without life as well. Thus, the problem is that the scripture could just as easily be used to justify a doctrine of there being no life after death. Did Jesus talk of this too? John 9:1-2 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Was this a rhetorical question on the part of the disciples? No, the question indicated that the
@BOON70 The apostles were asking if this man had been cursed by his own mortal sin or his parents. It had nothing to do with a pre existance. There was never any premortal sin for humans.
@awolLDSasap Look again the question was who did sin the blind man or his parents for him to born blind at birth. How could of he sinned before he was born? Do take note there were those who followed Lucifer in the before life.
@awolLDSasap Return to the God that gave them life Eccl 12:7 Return means they were their before. Hmm what did Jesus do during his premortal life? Who is Jehovah? The God of the Old Testament. Who is Jehovah in the New Testament? Jesus Christ. Ex 3:14 John 8:56-59
@BOON70 That's correct. Return to the God that gave them life from his breath. That doesn't mean there was a premortal life. Jehovah is Yĕhōwāh = God.
believe that God created the spirit of man—just that it was done long before the mortal birth. Either way, the spirit still returns home to God. By rejecting the concept of premortal existence, the authors swallow the concept that the spirit of man springs into existence at some time between conception and birth. If the scripture is to be interpreted literally, and as a parallel linguistic construction, then dust returns to dust, as it was without life, and spirit returns to its former
@BOON70 Before Christ came, spirits did not enter heaven after death. They slept in the bosom of Abraham. The human spirit did not exist in a premortal heaven.
@awolLDSasap Your mixing the spirit world with the place we lived before. Where did we live before? With God. Sooner or later we will return to that God to be judged then we will live with in eternity or not live with him for eternity.
strong case for the concept of a premortal life. Eccl 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. The simple question remains as to how something could return to a point it had not been to before. If the scripture is best translated, as the authors assert, as only having reference to returning to a God who created the spirit, then the only difference between their understanding and that of the LDS is a matter of timing. We
@BOON70 That's right. Our bodies will return to the dust of the earth and our spirits will return to God who gave us our spirit from (his breath). In the beginning God never placed a spirit body into Adam. There was no premortal spiritual life for humans. God and his angels preceed our existance.
long. In further questioning Job, he asks (in essence) where Job was "when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy." Here, again, is the assertion that Job had to be somewhere. Not just Job, however, but the morning stars and the sons of God. And these were not silent participants in the framing of the world, but singers and shouters, indicating they were possessed of independent capabilities of thought and action. Taken together, these two verses provide a
supporting preexistence) presupposes that preexistence is a fact. Such circular reasoning can be just as easily applied to the position taken by McKeever and Johnson: one can only interpret the verse as saying that Job was not present when God laid the foundations of the earth if one presupposes that the spirits of men had no premortal life. Thus, both interpretations can be seen to be on an equal footing when the singular verse is examined. The Lord, however, does not leave the matter alone for
In the course of reproving Job, the Lord indicates several key pieces of knowledge. First of all, in verse four the Lord asks "Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth?" Such a question, by its very nature, implies that Job was somewhere. Why would God ask Job a question which was not instructive, and why would the ancient scribes include the discourse if something could not be learned? McKeever and Johnson indicate that the assertion that Job had to be somewhere (thereby
Job 38:1-7 Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me. Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; When
foreknowledge but of an actual event with participants present. The process of sanctification, or setting something apart as holy, by definition requires that something (such as Jeremiah himself) be present to be set apart. Likewise, the act of ordaining a person—in this case a prophet—requires that the individual be present. These acts—sanctification and ordination—are not mental exercises, but actual events.
You know I sometimes wish people would read the Bible in the Greek and understand that there is lots of mistranslations into English. Rev 22:31 What do you think is meant by this scripture? Maybe it means that I am the beginning and end of the salvation of man? 1 John 1:3 Who is the creator of our spirits Christ or the Father? Yes Christ did create the Earth, everything on it, and the universe. But it still begs the first question who created our spirits?
@BOON70 Premortal existance is only found in Mormonism. That is not Biblical. Christ is from above, we are from below. All of this is explained in Genisis. Our mortal bodies are from the dust of the earth and our spirits came from the breath of God. From lds doctrine, can you explain how a physical God could produce spirit children instead of physical children?
@awolLDSasap Which came first our spirits or our bodies? Jer 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. How did he know him? Notice three key words here: knew, sanctified, and ordained. The wording itself indicates that God literally knew Jeremiah and was familiar with his spiritual attitudes and abilities. In addition, God sanctified Jeremiah, a description not of
u dont get kicked out for believing or not Joseph Smith. Thats a personal decision but one has to beleive in Joseph Smith inorder to belevie in God. Its like saying I beleive in Jesus Christ but I dont beleive in His servants...
You are a pro-gun advocate. Notice the state of utah has alot of similarities in your point of view. Alot of mormons are pro 2nd amendment also. What is it thats making you mad about mormons? PM me
Mormons do not worship Joseph Smith. He brought forth the restoration. The completed teachings of Jesus Christ. Your question should not be about whether or not you get kicked out for believing Joseph Smith, but rather, "Would you get kicked out for not believing that Joseph Smith brought back the original teachings of Jesus Christ."
What another Christian said to another Christian, mormons and scientologists will not be permitted to exist much longer. eventually enough people will know you and hate you and seek to destroy you, quoting nicerebound. Christ taught to love are enemies and pray for those who will despitifully use us. Any person who agrees or says this I don't care what they say there not Christian. I do believe in defending ourselves but not maliciously killing people. What I found good about Keith even
If you can't accept that Joseph Smith was visited by the God the Father and Jesus Christ and that he is a true prophet then how can you accept the rest of the gospel? The first vision is the most basic thing a mormon can teach and testify to be true. It's just the way it is.
If Joseph didn't teach of Christ then why does he teach so much about Christ? You know nothing of the prophet Joseph Smith. If any man preached of Christ it was Joseph Smith. He has done more done more for the salvation of man than any man has lived except it be Christ himself. If you ever read the Book of Mormon and studied you would know this.
Because Joseph is single-handedly the greatest advocate of Christ in this dispensation of time. He taught the teachings of Christ (among other things), to not believe in him (in mormon theology), is to not believe in Christ. Simple
Lets start here and call the Bible what you believe it to be. Distortions and God lied. quoting awol where and when did I say that only you have what you have said and you have no evidence of that either or anything to back up what you have said.
Look. Joseph Smiths invented doctrine has called the eternal God of Israel a liar. Don't bother asking your bishop about the truth. He will never give it to you. Go to Gods word and read it for yourself. quoting awol Joseph Smith invented no such doctrine nor do have anything to back it up your just making stuff up. LIke the other guy did. Again your like monkeys that throw bananas to get attention.
@BOON70 Infinite = no beginning, no end, immeasureable, inconceivable. Psa 90:2 God is from everlasting to everlasting, thou [art] God. 1Ti 6:16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom [be] honour and power everlasting. Psa 147:5 Great [is] our Lord, and of great power: his understanding [is] infinite.
@BOON Nothing existed before God. He created all physical and spiritual. Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Rev 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Jhn 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
@awolLDSasap If the Bible is such an infallible book then why does it say that people saw God? But you say no one has? If God can not be understood then how is Christ and his followers understood the will of the Father? Why does it say in the scriptures that God had a nose, a hand, a image, a face, and so on? Question 1Timothy 6:16 what do you suppose they mean by the word man?
@BOON70 All of these human looking traits came from the Old Testament. Have you never discussed the idea that theses appearances could have been the "word" "the mediator" "the Christ"? Christ has infinite presence with the Father. When the Bible tells us that no one has seen the Father, "only his glory" you should take notice.
CHRIST JESUS...being in the FORM OF GOD, thought it not robbery to be EQUAL WITH GOD: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."
Fruit of Smith? Christ said to judge them by the fruits of Christ. How would you know that Joseph Smith produced the fruits of Christ? You have never read the Book of Mormon and never read anything substantial about Joseph Smith. How can you judge wither it be of Christ or not? Its a simple concept. Which one do you think God will answer. If 2 farmers pray to have good crops one goes home does nothing and the other works hard in the field. Which one do you think he will answer?
Do you believe the spirit tells your bishop through revelation whom to select for the sunday school presidency? You can go straight to the presidency of the church to get the same answer.
I know first hand where all of the decisions come from, "MEN".
It is very foolish to rest your eternal salvation in the hands of men.
These men never had any power!
There is only 1 name that we can put our full faith and trust in, "Jesus".
Maybe you should of told Moses this or Christ apostles, or wait what about Buddia or any other religion. If God really does love us he would set out a way for us to return to him. Since you feel you know the way tell us. Oh wait you can't do that. Why does God choose prophets to set out the truth for others? If you get truth from more than one source. The information gets distorted. Thats also why we have lesson manuals and books. So the information isn't distorted.
I showed you in the Bible that the trinity doesn't exist. I have also told you that it shows that in the Book of Mormon. Again you repeat yourself even after the question has been answered. Again your like a monkey who throws bananas. I don't get mad I get tired almost to following asleep like right now because your questions our the same as others and you repeat yourself.
People smarter than Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon said the trinity exists. quoting awol. The Pharisees what do you think they though of Christ when he spake to the people having never seen him in any of classes Jews took then to learn of Jewish law? We all know that doctors have been wrong about things they have said in the past too and scientist as well. Just because there smart on paper doesn't mean they always speak the truth either.
Anyone else reading this in the right mind would tell you I have answered your questions. Tell me why does it mention in the Bible book that are not there?
This is from 1 Kings 11:41-43, but with additional reference to Ahijah the shilonite and Iddo the seer. the Chronicler omits the accounts of Solomon's apostasy and the rebellions he faced in his declining years 1 kings 11, the allusion to the words of these prophets directs you to Kings.
how does this have anything to do with what your talking about?
Why does it say book and there is many references. But if you want to go that way. Jude 1:14 were is the book that speaks of this other than right here? Matt 2:23 were does it say before this scripture that Christ would be a Nazarene. There are other scriptures like this too.
I just told you it was just a record of prophets that was given at the time... what does this have anything to do with anything?: that is my question.
Your going to have to be more specific about record of the prophets because the reply button is broken it doesn't put your response underneath what I said.
Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: Isa 29:13.
Threw them he restored the true Church of Jesus Christ to the Earth again. You come up with this so called false prophets. Deut 13:3, Duet 18:20, Isa 9:15 these scriptures speak of false prophets. Then what do they mean by false prophets because if what you say is true every prophet after Moses is false and there should of not been anymore. So what does it mean by false prophets?
If you mean by new gospel. Some religions say you have to baptized to be saved. Some say you don't need to baptized. Some teach Christ was resurrect some don't is that what you mean by new gospel? I already know what scripture your pointing at. If you look it up at the time Paul was having to deal with people saying whatever they wanted to the people. Might also have to with he said no private interpretation. Paul gave his interpretations of the scriptures.
But then you have this people that were not prophets or given authority to be leaders to the people giving there interpretations of the scriptures. Sometimes with some of the things you say I am shocked even say you have read the Bible because its hard for me to believe.
Actually I am defending the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am using the Bible and the Book of Mormon to defend that. In court isn't it better to have two witnesses rather than one? You would have ever read the Book of Mormon you would know that it is that second witness of Christ and he is who he says he is.
Antis will always beat the same dead horse and try to get it to move. Your fine example of that. I have answered your questions. Just like I have said you guys just throw bananas trying to get attention. I have spoken plainly to you and I have open the scriptures to you and made them plain to the understanding. Oh and Hebrews 1 look up the word sundry God didn't quit calling prophets. He called a prophet in our day and time his Joseph Smith and he did see God the Father and Jesus Christ.
wow, I love how you guys always tend to show how you fall short in an actual intelligent conversation... you haven't answered ANY question yet... you've only twisted the question back at me which doesn't work, I'm sorry. Its common for you anti Christs to pour out spin through your mormonized mouthes but its ok because the scriptures clearly define between Christianity and mormonism.... God don't need prophets to be sent anymore because (read hebrews 1 again) the Son sent the Holy Spirit.
Another question. Does God only love the Jews? Doesn't he love all people? Wouldn't that mean he would try to establish his gospel to all people rather than those who are in Jerusalem? If he did he would have had to call prophets just as he did in Jerusalem. God didn't speak only to the Jews but to all people because he loves all his children.
why does God love the Gentiles? Jesus Came to establish His body of believers in HIM and that the GATES OF HELL shall not prevail against it. God speaks through the HOly spirit because He is one with the Father and the Son... Joseph Smith establish his own gospel... which is spoken by paul saying that there would be other gospels and other christs that would arise.
I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet I have read the from journals of those who knew him. They also knew this and they also knew the Book of Mormon was the word of God.
For many years I have answered the questions of Antis there like a bunch of monkeys on a stage jumping around doing the same play over and over. Throwing bananas trying to get every ones attention.
How is it racist? Because its not 2 Ne 26:33 For none of these iniquities come of the Lord; for he doeth that which is good among the children of men; and he doeth nothing save it be plain unto the children of men; and he inviteth them all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile.
mr young said that the only reason God made black people is that EVIL would be represented on the earth... ya your founders and the book of mormon are extremely racist... and No man should be a part of that cult.
@evelsteev Ok, on that idea that it's either an afterlife or not, it comes down to what you want to believe. Forget religion for a moment. What would you rather be true. You have no evidence of either being right or wrong. So what would you look more forward to being right?

Quick question for Christians: Why do you believe in something that has no evidence for it?
evelsteev 4 months ago in playlist QQFM (Quick Questions For Mormons)
@evelsteev It's not about evidence. There is no concrete evidence for either side. It's all about what you want to believe. Is there something after this life? Or just plain death?
thatjimguy 2 weeks ago
@thatjimguy Either side? There's only one "side" and that's the side that claims there's a god, Jesus, as well as Krishna, Zoroaster, etc. There's just plain death. If people are afraid of that, it's time to grow up. I mean, even though we know a movie is eventually going to end, it doesn't meant we can't certainly enjoy the hour and a half, no?
evelsteev 2 weeks ago
The true question would be... why did you join the church (and essentially lied) if you didn't believe in Joseph Smith? And if you once believed, but no longer do, then why remain in the church? One is responsible for their own choices and one may choose to leave the church. The church wouldn't kick you out for denying Smith. They'd assume that they would leave upon denial of Smith.
AdolfoBlogs 9 months ago
If you don't believe in joseph smith you get kicked out? I don't know about that, but we do sustain him or recognize him as a prophet if not why join it as christ's church? That is the basis. If we don't belive he is what he said he was and that is a prophet of god then we just join another church to where we will think whatever is right! I personally know joseph smith is a prophet! His major focal point is to bring those faithful to him closer to him and that is my goal as well!
09futbol 10 months ago
Nonsense. How could you not believe Joseph Smith existed? No one ever got "kicked-out" for that, nor would anyone be excommunicated for not accepting him as a prophet. . Perhaps it was a little unbelief and alot of adultry.

Todd Freil from Wretched made a few good points.
Christianity
Jesus is worshipped
Jesus is God
Jesus is the way
Mormonism, "Jesusanity"
Jesus is respected
Jesus points to God
Jesus shows the way
The church of Joseph Smith has nothing to do with the body of Christ.

I don't believe that we are saved by grace through faith and not of works according to paul. But I believe in Jesus Christ, why can't I go to heaven? The question is a little double standard, I do this all the time.
jwnaugle 1 year ago
@jwnaugle Christ taught us how we are to love him. One form of worship towards Christ that is not readily recognized is following the commandments and following the example of Christ (John 14:15). Many people believe that worship is just praying to God and going to church sure these are all good things. But what does worship mean? To render religious reverence and homage (respect) to (dictionary com). So anything that brings respect, honor, or reverence towards Christ is worship. Otherwise

as leeuniverse stated. part of our religion is believing that God has a living prophet on the earth. to not belive in JS. would be the same as saying the BoM is not the word of God. I've never heard of anyone getting excommunicated for that. maybe they were preaching against our doctrine, then was asked to stop and if they did not stop then they would be kicked out of the congregation. only the first presidency (prophet and 2 counselors) and the 12 apostles can excommunicate members.
edgar21974 1 year ago

BOON70 1 year ago
wouldn't that mean we are brothers? This doesn't take rocket science to figure out. I don't know what your trying to point out when you quote Phil 2:5, Mark 12:29, and Gal 3:20. We have already discussed along time ago that can't be true that Jesus is the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost. John 17 I think explains that enough that is not what is meant by it. Even the scripture so commonly people put on their shirt John 3:16 shows that For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son

Obedience to law will never make a person worthy to God. Think about it.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awolLDSasap No where does it say that nor does it say that their. Where did Christ come from? He is called the "Son" of God and what does he call God? "Father". Christ gives us the example of prayer. What does he tell us to call God? Matt 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: "Our Father" which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. We don't say His Father or Christ Father we say "Our Father". Even on the cross he calls God "Father". So I ask again If Christ and all of us have the same Father
BOON70 1 year ago

@BOON70 You're right about that. Mormon doctrine changes the identity of God.

I got a great idea for you why don't you get a black permanent marker. What you actually mean is what I try to support is not confide with your doctrine of the scriptures or your gospel. various other places in the Bible. So question should we rip the Bible in half after Duet 4:2 and call it good? Or what is actually meant? will be also noted that Christ says nothing to dispel or correct the presupposition. Here is incontrovertible support for a doctrine of human preexistence. It is perfectly reasonable to surmise on the basis of this episode that Jesus and his followers accepted preexistence and thought so little of it that the question of prenatal sin did not even call for an answer.

Instead, He acknowledged the concept by saying that the man had not sinned. The question posed by the disciples explicitly presupposed prenatal existence. It

@BOON70 I can't think of any Christian churches that teach the grace of God is not sufficient. Mormon doctrine leads a person to believe that grace must be purchased.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awolLDSasap How do you believe its purchased? Question don't other religions have you do something to be saved? Go to church, read the Bible, be baptized, receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, keep the commandments, pray, and so on. I thought you said you didn't have to do anything to be saved? So which is it you have to do these things to be saved or nothing? Where do we teach that is not suffcient? What does the Book of Mormon say?

@awolLDSasap John 17 why does Christ pray for us to become one with the Father as he is? Take note in John 10:30-34 saying your one with the Father means you are his equal. The Jews thought this was blasphemy then Jesus quoted Psalms 82:6. Question what did Jesus become after he was resurrected? What does a person seek of a person when they truly love them? BOON70 1 year ago
@BOON70 What you are trying to defend is not Biblical. Jesus was the almighty God before he became human. Try this...... Pro 3:5,6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean NOT on your OWN UNDERSTANDING. In ALL your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths"
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awolLDSasap tyrant. When a person truly loves another they seek to have them as high or higher than themselves rather than abase them under them. This is what it means when in John that those who shall see him as he is. Paul even talks us being heirs to God even as Christ Rom 8:17, Gal 4:7. God even says to those who will overcome will sit with me in my throne Rev 3:21.
BOON70 1 year ago
@BOON70 "Heirs" does not mean we will become Gods. We become immortal, infinite, like God. 1Cr 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality. You're beating this thing to death and getting no where. You have ANOTHER gospel and a different god.

disciples thought one possible answer to the blindness of the man was that he had sinned. Since he was born blind a fact the record indicates that both Jesus and His disciples knew then the wording of the question indicates that the sinning must have taken place before the birth of the man, by the man himself. How could the man have sinned, resulting in a punishment of being blind at birth, unless he had lived before he was born? If the concept of a premortal life was in error, then the Master

uncreated condition, meaning without life as well. Thus, the problem is that the scripture could just as easily be used to justify a doctrine of there being no life after death. believe that God created the spirit of man—just that it was done long before the mortal birth.
BOON70 1 year ago
@BOON70 Before Christ came, spirits did not enter heaven after death. They slept in the bosom of Abraham. The human spirit did not exist in a premortal heaven.

strong case for the concept of a premortal life.

@BOON70 You don't need to be set apart by anyone through the laying on of hands to be sanctified. That is a blatant lie.

BOON70 1 year ago

If you can't accept that Joseph Smith was visited by the God the Father and Jesus Christ and that he is a true prophet then how can you accept the rest of the gospel? The first vision is the most basic thing a mormon can teach and testify to be true. It's just the way it is.
mastad23 1 year ago
If Joseph didn't teach of Christ then why does he teach so much about Christ? You know nothing of the prophet Joseph Smith. If any man preached of Christ it was Joseph Smith. He has done more done more for the salvation of man than any man has lived except it be Christ himself. If you ever read the Book of Mormon and studied you would know this.

BOON70 1 year ago
@BOON70 All of these human looking traits came from the Old Testament. Have you never discussed the idea that theses appearances could have been the "word" "the mediator" "the Christ"? Do you believe the spirit tells your bishop through revelation whom to select for the sunday school presidency? You can go straight to the presidency of the church to get the same answer.
I know first hand where all of the decisions come from, "MEN".
It is very foolish to rest your eternal salvation in the hands of men.

The Pharisees what do you think they though of Christ when he spake to the people having never seen him in any of classes Jews took then to learn of Jewish law? We all know that doctors have been wrong about things they have said in the past too and scientist as well. Just because there smart on paper doesn't mean they always speak the truth either.

theembracedofgod 2 years ago
I ask you over and over again this question. Why does it mention in the Bible book that are not listed in the Bible? 2 Chr 9:29 is just one of many.
BOON70 2 years ago
This is from 1 Kings 11:41-43, but with additional reference to Ahijah the shilonite and Iddo the seer. the Chronicler omits the accounts of Solomon's apostasy and the rebellions he faced in his declining years 1 kings 11, the allusion to the words of these prophets directs you to Kings.
how does this have anything to do with what your talking about?
theembracedofgod 2 years ago
Why does it say book and there is many references. But if you want to go that way. Jude 1:14 were is the book that speaks of this other than right here? Matt 2:23 were does it say before this scripture that Christ would be a Nazarene. There are other scriptures like this too.
BOON70 2 years ago
I just told you it was just a record of prophets that was given at the time... what does this have anything to do with anything?: that is my question.
theembracedofgod 2 years ago
Your going to have to be more specific about record of the prophets because the reply button is broken it doesn't put your response underneath what I said.

BOON70 2 years ago
Threw them he restored the true Church of Jesus Christ to the Earth again. You come up with this so called false prophets. Deut 13:3, Duet 18:20, Isa 9:15 these scriptures speak of false prophets. Then what do they mean by false prophets because if what you say is true every prophet after Moses is false and there should of not been anymore. So what does it mean by false prophets?
BOON70 2 years ago
lol, they are false if they bring another gospel haha... in which mr SMith clearly did.
theembracedofgod 2 years ago
If you mean by new gospel. Some religions say you have to baptized to be saved. Some say you don't need to baptized. Some teach Christ was resurrect some don't is that what you mean by new gospel? I already know what scripture your pointing at. If you look it up at the time Paul was having to deal with people saying whatever they wanted to the people. Might also have to with he said no private interpretation. Paul gave his interpretations of the scriptures.
BOON70 2 years ago
But then you have this people that were not prophets or given authority to be leaders to the people giving there interpretations of the scriptures. Sometimes with some of the things you say I am shocked even say you have read the Bible because its hard for me to believe.
BOON70 2 years ago
please spare me the dumbed talk, read matt 5:17 Jesus is the fulfillment of the prophets and the law.

BOON70 2 years ago
he fulfilled the prophets because its recorded through scripture he did.... now you are just fighting the bible not me.
theembracedofgod 2 years ago
Actually I am defending the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am using the Bible and the Book of Mormon to defend that. In court isn't it better to have two witnesses rather than one? Just like I have said you guys just throw bananas trying to get attention. I have spoken plainly to you and I have open the scriptures to you and made them plain to the understanding. Oh and Hebrews 1 look up the word sundry God didn't quit calling prophets. He called a prophet in our day and time his Joseph Smith and he did see God the Father and Jesus Christ.
BOON70 2 years ago
wow, I love how you guys always tend to show how you fall short in an actual intelligent conversation... you haven't answered ANY question yet... you've only twisted the question back at me which doesn't work, I'm sorry. Its common for you anti Christs to pour out spin through your mormonized mouthes but its ok because the scriptures clearly define between Christianity and mormonism.... God don't need prophets to be sent anymore because (read hebrews 1 again) the Son sent the Holy Spirit.
theembracedofgod 2 years ago
Another question. Does God only love the Jews? Doesn't he love all people? Wouldn't that mean he would try to establish his gospel to all people rather than those who are in Jerusalem? If he did he would have had to call prophets just as he did in Jerusalem. God didn't speak only to the Jews but to all people because he loves all his children.
BOON70 2 years ago
why does God love the Gentiles? Jesus Came to establish His body of believers in HIM and that the GATES OF HELL shall not prevail against it. God speaks through the HOly spirit because He is one with the Father and the Son... Joseph Smith establish his own gospel... which is spoken by paul saying that there would be other gospels and other christs that would arise.
