I cry silently whenever I think of how great a town Nelson was and what it has now become .... A place where you could go out weekends without fear of being mugged or beaten up .... Who would now even think of even having a night out there now !!!
The locals know why and only the councillors and politicians scratch their heads trying to think whats wrong ..
Many thanks for the nice video of Nelson, My first visit was in 1967 at 10 years old to stay with an Uncle at Railway Terrace, for two weeks, the terraced houses long replaced by concrete by ugly housing as I saw in 2000we also visited inlaws at Ringstone Cresent near Marsden Park, I plan soon to cycle from London via canals to Nelson and beyond to take another look, of course it won't look or feel the same, I recall the unconditional friendliness of the local children of my age_1967. Reg, Tom.
Wow i was 15 then and lived in Preston .....and did lots of cycling around Pendle hill (Nick o Pendle)with my local cycling club ......yeah i go back to the times when they held the national cycling hill climbing championships there ....cheers
