I live about fifteen minutes from here. The town actually has (or used to, not sure if they do anymore) people dress up and you can walk through it and they jump out at you on Halloween. I've never been, sadly.
Not to burst anyone's bubble, but I have seen flourescent lights with battery backups in them. They automatically take over when main power is lost. Having the electricity back on to the building before shutting off the panel may have recharged it enough to work.
As for the reason it is closed, a new hospital was opened in the county about 10-15 years ago that was more up to date and they moved everyone from this hospital to that one.
I'm calling BS on this video and the others on youtube about this hospital being haunted. It seems that most churches and EVERY abandoned hospital has some sort of ghost or paranormal activity. But this one doesn't. I live in the area and the only time i've seen or heard of this place being haunted has been when they set up the haunted hospital at Halloween.
I use to live behind the hospital in sp.still live n sp but moved because that area is haunted,,,the hospital is around 40 years old...its been closed for years,,,a boy who lived in the area well him and his friends decided 2 go in there and lock boy in the room to be mean but came back in and he was in the corner naked and had cuts down his back...so yah,,,very haunted.
Good luck guys, I was one of the last babies born in that hospital and I had a family member die in that hospital, for all we know it could have been him that turned on that light. I remember everything about that hospital, some doctors, some personnel, and some nurses. There have been a lot of things to happen in that hospital.

this looks new . not an old state hosp. why is it closed. and was it an acute care hosp. or a specialty type. it looks too new.
