  • This was the first time I've ever watched a Hoopers class! It was really interesting!

  • Happy Anniversary!! You guys rock! Oh yeah, and congrats for the win on Dogster! I love watching your videos. Your videographer is great! :-)

  • Thanks! and Thanks! The videographers (read "parents") appreciate it!

  • I love Dazzle! :P you do great with her. When did you start doing agility?

  • Thanks. :)

I started agility about 3 years ago.

  • Was your other dog, Peanut, your first dog that you trained and/or handled?? When did you start training Dazzle ? and how long before you started trailing with him... sorry Im just very curious because your dogs are so awesome :P

  • Peanut was first - I just did a little stuff with her though at a training center - nothing very serious. After about a year of that I got Dazzle as a pup and started training her. Technically I started training Dazzle from the day I brought her home, but for a long time it was just foundation stuff and obedience. She started trialing when she was about 20 months old. After Dazzle was going strong I went back and started re-training Peanut (that was about a year ago).

  • What's your prefence on weaves, aka, how'd you teach them?? Bailey, my aussie, does them, but she isnt very fast, and doesn't really have a one step or hop. She's about 16 months old. She isn't my first dog, but I don't go to a very good training club so I basically learned how to train/handle agility from my friend, who learned from the internet or forums and youtube. So any help would be appreciated.

  • I messaged you the full process of how I like to teach weaves, but basically it is a combination of first using Channels to get a good foundation, and then switching to angled poles right near the end of the training to help the dog with footwork - WITHOUT having them learn to just plow through (which is hard on their shoulders) like using just angled poles often does.

  • Thanks so much :)
