  • i saw liberty city in houston tx at the 104 KRBE Labor Day Block Party in 1994 when I was 16...damn i miss this time period

  • I was a reporter for billboard magazine back then. I got a copy of this when I was in NY and brought it back to New Orleans to play. One of the deepest sickest underground records EVER! The kids today need to pay their respect to the groups like Liberty City!!

  • This was so large. Wish I could turn the clock back.

  • I was there when the jungle sounds came alive late in the night! This was the seductress! This was Mother Nature!

  • after this there's nothing

  • I just had some one ID this track on tuneid.com. Great house track.

  • wow 20 years old!!!! this defines house!!!! sick just fucking sick!!!! if you ever spent any time in the early 90's in the NYC gay and underground clubs you fucked to this !!!! it was the shit to shake your booty too!!! LOVIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The 1990's was the last era for good partying!!!! The new millenium SUCKS!!!!

  • Say any groovy person here remember the song "Unique" it was another old great jam from the early 90's. Thanks anyone! forgot who sang it.

  • i need some loving

  • Thank God religion was introduced in Hong Kong, SAR, China & Philippines as Christian values, means unless you make it right as I know for Catholicism (and Judaism in USA as just because you atone one day, one must use direct action to help the person you harmed as there is worse things that could happen, as I will get Blair up here from her job at Gitmo to deal with some people covertly). Remember how I said some people are "apple chewers," Garden of Eden was what I meant, a concept. J. Lowen

  • Excellent House.

  • True House. Diffidate dalle imitazioni. Discone!!

  • This song is Damn HOT!!!! Everybody has their opinion and its cool if you don't like this cut.. but man when this beat came out I was making hot dance love on the dance floor...The Frat house in Washington DC...this song mix with Brighter Days is HOT.....or Been a Long Time by The Fog OMG flash back!!!!

  • @jdisaiah Yeeeessss,I agree.....This song is SICKENING!!! Who would dare disagree?

  • @jdisaiah fuck yeah man the fog!!!!! just getting deeper and deeper!!

  • my 12 had a pretty shit pressing - like the guy who mastered the plate fell asleep or something, the dub was fine tho, the vocal mix, the high hats distorted about halfway through... anyway this still banged the party even when played with the burning high hats lol i also heard the same issue on a tony humphries mix, so it was most likely a pressing issue...

  • 10/10 CONVERT GARDNS gardening club

  • what a shit song. is this why we flooded our continents with niggers?

  • For some of the cats looking for old steve loria, chris flores and doc martin sets check out simfonik.com

  • That Bassline.... Wow!

  • Just goes to show you that a brilliant song needs no chord changes and very little melody. Peace.

  • I remember this from the beginning of my NYC clubbing days. I would go ballistic on the dancefloor to this.

  • @CosmicTDI We all did!! cant believe some of the rude comments above.. They must be some "non-rhythmed" people, that's all I no... THIS JAM IS LEGENDARY WORLD WIDE!

  • wow, forgot all about this.... good ol x and miami beach at it's best!

  • CLASSIC!!! Love this song, one of the all time best, great times, good memories!

  • CLASSIC!!! Love this song, great times, great memories!

  • CLASSIC!!! Love this song, great times, great memories!

  • awesome!! An absolute classic.

  • .dam thats the shit back in san jo house party

  • @RICHARD1444able *snorts e off toilet tank on 4th st, breaks through bathroom door, dances frenetically, clutches chest, keels over*

  • @btwentwo hehe... lovin that !! same experience - but at Trade in London early 90's

Those murk boys were kickin it in those days...

  • love the 250 likes compared to the 4 dislikes

  • I heard this song at a club in NY early 90's. The next day I went to a record store managed by DJ's and pretty much hummed what i remembered. They found and played it and I bought it. No regrets. I love it still.

  • can't stop playing this tuuuune! : )

  • I like some of the new stuff, but from 1990-1994 are the years when the music and the love was to real for this fragmented Matrix we live in now. Cheers

  • @sandiegorandolph Most of the new stuff cant compare to the emotional and spiritual feelings you get from the time period you stated. Granted, a couple labels have elements of the old school vibe (the Aus Music label is doing wonders) but as a WHOLE (the music, the mindset of ppl, the afterhour parties where ppl went not just for the drugs but for the music), i dont think you can ever get that back.

  • fact is.. if you don't like this jam then you weren't there and i feel for ya and hope that you turn out ok someday

  • Bigup Photek for introducing this track to me with his FACT mix!

  • colossal tune............

  • Haha heard this on Photeks FACT mix (226) and can't stop playing it now - superb track, comedy played loud.

  • Wow! It's one of my favourite tracks ever....

  • Lovely classic :-)

  • ("-") what can i say that has'nt been said 141 times, this is some track.

  • Phat piece of funky house, chunky slo plodding groove!! Funking love it!! Massive in it's day & still rocks a floor now!!, has more funk soul & groove in it than anything that's been made in the last 10 years....Fact!!

  • @synapticrelease thta was th elittle fellows and the scene!

  • @synapticrelease thtat was th elittle fellows and the scene!

  • Lol i m just having fun reading some comments. I didn t even know that Kristine W did a remix of one of the remix of this song lol.

I listened to it and honestly............... it sucks. It's so bad.

  • Hey guys, Lars Beherenroth i his Deeper Shades of House recorded a 2 hours mix of old house, deep house music, it's amazing, I found this tune there, is pretty good, cheers...love this song by the way

  • Kristine's version definitely rocks anyday compared to this music, which simply wants to send me off to "The Land of Nod!" There is just no emotion, no impact to this particular version of this song, when Kristine Murk did it at least she was generating some feeling into the song, this one however there is just nothing, just totally bland and empty. Not only that when she did the official video clip using the Queer as Folk theme that definitely made it more interesting! She has a great voice!

  • omg dam good CLUB DANCE FELL GOOD MUZE OLD SCHOOL

  • just to say cali splits , in the club by midnight no entry after that everybody in the same time , The beginning of what no one else will ever understand if you werent there , no disrespect This and many other tunes cant be described anthing less than futureristic

  • @sawwas7435 Oh what I am meant to agree with your comment because you thought it was better? No I don't. Kristine W did a more up beat version of that song. This particular version makes me want to fall asleep on by george I did listen to it and I did not like it at all. Disagree with me all you want but hey we all have different tastes I like some old stuff but the remakes of many of the old things are definitely much better than the original anyday!

  • @EnforcedWarwick im sorry in 1991 when the tune in question was released you were ten years old you havent a clue what im talking about so regardless of your opinion ,some what be it stubborn and delusional . without originals you couldnt have a remix , of which you think serves every tune id assume . Come and look at my 25,000 vinyls their priceless a copy is a copy not original all copies are fake catch my drift !!! Oh and well done in the cricket !!

  • Wow

  • Epic.... !!!

  • I'm 44 and believe me on 1992 people danced to that.. A LOOOOOOOOOOOT ;-) After hours or not. This is one the best House Tracks ever made as far as I'm concerned. Love the dub too... !!!

  • @synapticrelease

in 1992 sorry lol Tune in drop out.

  • @synapticrelease Yeah.... I remember one time I was on stage with 3 super hot chicks... and when this song came on... they danced like it was DISCO-House... damn from 1990-1993 was insanely the best times to be out at a party or Afterhours. Not to rank todays scene, but its different. Attitude, personality.... but it seems different.

  • @JuergenGDB : i absolutely agree. This song tore up San Francisco Clubs, Raves, and etc.!! a CLASSIC.

  • @synapticrelease ...you right one of the most powerfull at all!!..after hours or not ...it was rollin everywhere...but the afterhours version played in italy at "nove nove" by RALF is not even on the other side of the record!!

  • Murk ha s always put some of the best trax!!

  • best mix, just needs to be a tad faster!

  • Need to move the pitch slider to speed this up,sounds to slow.

  • @spinx420

No it doesnt, this is the perfect speed and the way its suppose to sound. I hate it when music is to fast, great house music is 128 bpm and below for my tastes. Sometimes 130 nothing faster though.

  • @silverbullnyc

Sounds like a 45 on 33 to me,maybe I'm just not use to tunes this slow.

  • @spinx420

Can i ask your age? And how long you have been listening to House Music?

  • @silverbullnyc

I'm 33,and I started listening to all kinds of edm around 92.

House music is not my favorite genre.

Some of the older stuff is ok but I can not stand new house house tbh.

    When I first started I was into stuff like altern8,the prodigy,frankie bones,Acen,2 bad mice,sonz of a loop da loop era,awesome 3,rhythm section,just to name a few.

Mainly something with a fast bpm to get you pumped up and dancing.

Then around 95 or so I got into fl breaks since I live in florida.

  • @silverbullnyc

So true! Real, soulful house back in the early 90's was slow and funky, just like this. This track still gets me in my gut. I could almost cry. It's that good. This kind of groove is what got us all on the dance floor back then! It's been damn near 15 years and this track (and others classics like it) still makes me crazy!

  • @spinx420 no, this is the right speed.

  • Club USA sliding down the slide, wut!

  • @JQ619

Amen to that, and hearing this at Twilo.

  • The Murk boys...

    DEEEEEEEEEEEEEP

  • TRACKS!

  • @Frizinho Yaaaaaaaaas!!!! I have memories of Traxx(Atl) and Tracks(DC)..kids today DO NOT KNOW CLUB MUSIC!!!!

  • EnforcedWarwick is an idiot.. This is the original , what a moron

  • This is def the best mix of this song!! def MURK at there best!!!!

  • How can you say that the Kristine W version is better! that shit was terrible....

this original version brings back some memories.

  • The one, the only, the original. Accept no imitations.

  • I absolutely live for this song...You want to see bitches Vogue, put on this song...Turn it!!!

  • This is fucking lethal.

  • DA DA DA 1992!DJ Ralph!!!!

  • @EnforcedWarwick With all due respects but that's a horrible cover. Mind you this is the 1991 original..not some remix!

  • @statenhal Well said Warwick. Kristine W is ok, but its she is more of a pop artist than a true house vocalist. Remember, you hear Kristine W on the radio sometimes. Classic deep house anthems like this were NEVER played to the main stream audience on radio. You had to go to a club to hear this stuff back in early 90's.

  • @statenhal ... 1991 ... offa I don't like feeelin' old )= ... but I remember this one very fondly ... actually have it on a very virgin LP ... (=

  • @statenhal Preach it brother... Does not get much better than this.. I cant remember how many times I saw Party-goers running to the dance floor with this groove came on! KICK IT!

  • @JuergenGDB LOL i was one of those ppl runnin

  • @MOllySixxxCA Sweet.... Me too... LOL

  • @statenhal EnforcedWarwick must be a madonna fan- this vers. is undoubtably THE BEST!!!

  • @statenhal Yeah.. Tellem Statenhal.. This track is the Shizt! this song brings out crazy memories.... KICK IT!!!! lol No cover will ever compete with this original!

  • @statenhal Jesus christ I just looked that cover up... Terrible terrible experience.

  • @DannyKing3000

totally agree, made me want to puke. that kristine w cover is total shite, proper commercial droos

  • @EnforcedWarwick look for Danny Tenaglia's New Hook Mix, imo the best remix of the song.

  • @EnforcedWarwick PLEASE!! You MUST be crazy- this vers is IT!!!!!!!!

  • @EnforcedWarwick Nope you are dead wrong... This was the original and the best... We played in the clubs and on the radio in 91-92

  • @EnforcedWarwick why do you give a shit what anyone else thinks? the kristine w version you speak of...ive just had the misfourtune of finding it on here and its fucking awful pins in yours eyes shit if you really wanted to know. It boils my shit when some muppets decide to cover a classic house track and fail miserably. leave it alone.

  • @EnforcedWarwick Kid, you weren't even a fetus when this ORIGINAL track filled dance floors in warehouses and underground clubs all over the world! I was spinning this track on vinyl and still to this day is a guaranteed floor-filler. Get back in your crib with your Kristine W mp3 cover...You wish this ORIGINAL was a remix!

  • can anyone link me the lyrics> muchas gracias

  • back then you could have faith MURK would deliver bass lines with funk and INTENT.

So, does anyone remember a dark techno song from this time that started out with a guy saying... "this is your wake up call..." and then the music just kinda looped over... classic!!!... 1991-'92??!!

  • searching for: "this is your wake up call"---but not the shitty super fast, trance version using the same line. this is from '91. also: lookin' for track I heard at 808 State event in '91 where the guy is talking about the "bones being connected to the .. thigh bone... the thigh bone connected to the... bone, bone..., etc" really trippy sounding but great!! ANYONE??!!

Now about the tape... the only tape I remember was one that OM Labs put out... also one with Jon Williams & Chris Flores. I used to promote & also work with OM Labs back in '92. It's an awesome piece of work. That tape had a red/orange design to it. As far as the "blue" tape...not sure. Sorry! You can find him on Facebook- there you can ask him.

  • OMG flammable liquid, thank you!

  • Agreed, this brings back great memories and is still so solid. MurK recorded this out of Miami btw. 1st heard this at NODOZ in Hollywood (when late night wasnt right).
