We are going to have to agree to disagree, Its the fact that I play, and can play this solo that brought me to my conclusion that they are separate. She hardly hits the strings on the video and is too fluid and slow in places to match up 100% with the recording. A video will not go out of sync in certain places it will either be perfect or not. She looks far too relaxed during the playing and I am glad that you put 'proof' in your response, as there is none. That said I respect your opinion.

@MyIcarusRich Hi, I know you weren't saying that it wasn't her playing :-) But you thought it was recorded, then mimed. Because you can obviously play well, I'm surprised that you thought she was miming, as there are bits of 'proof'. She explains the syncness in the video notes: they are recorded separately but simultaneously. Makes sense, to get the sound clean. She also says in the notes that it isn't prerecorded. It would be harder to mime it that well than to keep playing it till happy.

@supermoserre play with the fleshy part of your thumb ,they are specific mathematically determined points of the fretboard . fret at the say fifth fret and put your plectrum almost inside your thumb , strike the string with more thumb than plectrum almost muting it .If you under have a strat there is a sweet spot just beside the pole on the mid pickup.

Hey Kelly, thanks for taking the time to make this video. It really helped me put it all together and make it sound right. I was learning the solo from the 2/09 issue of GW but the tabs can be difficult. You helped me get the flow..

You also use an alternate fingering during the one part that is easier for people who can't do the 12 - 19 fret 'stretched pentatonic' thing. I do it the stretched way. Anyway, thanks again for all of the help. -- Rob, PA
