And yet pot helps but benzos attack the nervous system you can't self medicate with pot for long. Benzos destroy the neural pathways they're meant as a vet low dose VERY temporary solution but when you're stuck in the system waiting for care it's easy for a doctor to write a script they know will work seldom do they realize withdrawl is worse than any opiate. I'm also on opiates for a severe condition so I do know that and I graduated pre-med

I'm a benzodiazepine addict I'm up to 12mg a day but have taken over 50mg the withdrawals leave me seizing unable to speak my nose runs and I hear that fucking hissing sound all the time. I truly think I'll never get off. My GP at the time just wrote me a script and kept renewing it. Klonopin is a hellish addiction so easy to take but the effects are forever. Just don't do it. Not even once.

I have suffered from anxiety disorder since a teen-tried every med in book-including antidepressants and antipsychotics-Doctor put me on xanax extended release ,only 2 mil. a day and it has changed my life.Such a low dose and after a year still works fantastic with no side effects.

I live in France and we're the biggest consumers of anti-depressants and benzos, I can get a prescription in five minutes when ever I want, the nightmare and the time it took me to get off those fucking things is just incredible, I stopped the hard way and three days later I passed out in the street. It took me about a year to kick it out of my system.

@usarmy86 You're right, Heroine's no joke, and shouldn't be dismissed as an easy deal to kick! Mine was about a week of hell, gettin' off three years of Morphine & Methadone (spinal injury), but was a hell of a lot better two weeks after. But I just kicked this stuff four months ago (Ativan for 7 years, high dose), and am almost as screwed up as the second week. You feel like a feral cat on crack. Brain's supposed to be back to normal somewhere between 6 to 18 months...and Dr.'s prescribe it!?!?

@crazy7house well...this is true if you used benzos for a lot of years...in those years an heroin addict maybe is already dead, or in cure with methadone, that have heavy and long lasting withdrawal, if you stop suddently...the fact is that a lot of people use benzos without informing themselves of the nature of this drug, and with the collusion with many doctors (almost psychiatrist) use this drug for years! Don't trust blindly what your doctor says,,,maybe is in his intrest to push you benzos,

withdrawal is like a very bad trip on shrooms or acid.... which eventually gives u seizures or death. its not laced, hes in detox and withdrawal.

@DritonGusia unfortunately, I'm not kidding. I am still in withdrawal and its been just under one year. If you have ever done too many shrooms or had a terrible nightmare trip on acid, this is like that but much worse and much much longer lasting. The benzo's do not cause a trip, coming off them causes the bad trip type feeling. You will have no idea you are addicted and you will nver ever be abl to imagine how bad withdrawal is until it kicks in. I can't stress this enough: Avoid all benzos.

And he wanted to kill himself started screaming and crying and kicking stuff in the middle of street lying down, I was holding him trying to stop, and all the shitty behaviors he did all the way through the hospital... I've seen a lot of shit today, I'm fucking exhausted :-s

@DritonGusia mixing benzos and alcohol is often fatal. CNSs depressants, when combined, potentiate one another. Also there is a strong emetic reaction in many people to the presence of alcohol and sedatives in large quantities. That is extremely dangerous, as when you OD and lose consciousness you risk aspirating your own vomit. Death tends to occur due to asphyxia in such cases. However, sufficient stimulants can often mitigate such problems but its best to secure the airway, always.

He was obsessed in a girl and had problems,he was desperate

@DritonGusia just out of curiosity, if what you are saying did take place do you happen to know which benzos were used? Superoxidating newer benzos like clonazepam, alprazolam and nitrazepam have a far lower LD50 than the older Librium and Valium/Diazepam classes. The latter also tend not to cause behavioural problems to the same extent as the former.

He said he took the whole box of benzos but he once even said he took 10 methadones but that was a lie,but enough to make me sure hes gonna fucking die

Now he's ok,after hospitalization... he said he doesnt remember anything he said, almost nothing what have hapened

It only gives you Seizure if you cold turkey, otherwise the chance of a seizure is 5% out of 100% if you taper.

its much worse than that. if you are lucky you may only get this far. after 3 or 4 cycles (cycle = elimination period / time course till next dose) i am about there, double to 6-8 cycles and i need an ER. Benzos are ruining, if not ending, my life.
