Guru is a tutor, mentor, guide, a sage person and a lot more than that. (ji is the respected addressing suffix). In Indian philosophy guru is the visual god to a disciple. Through him all those ancient knowledge is passed to his disciple.

I repeat this is written by Jayanta Bose and it is his voice you are listening. Nitin Sawhney doesn't speaks Bengali.
