  • Narrator absolutely lies. It is NOT steel that is being melted. It is either Aluminum, Zinc, or some other pot metal.

  • wut da fuck is petrol?

  • @phantom1000A you know that stuff you put in your gas tank in america we call it gasoline they call it petrol because its short for petroleum

  • Melt the enemy tanks? Melt the fucking enemy!

  • Where was this in World War 2?

  • JAMES MAY!

  • The kid with the magnifying lass grew up fast.

  • oh no it's James may!

  • Seems like a perfect weapon for terminators. xD

  • Where did 0:33 go ? :o

  • i could have done this shit with a fart.

  • HOLY FUCKKKKKKK! a rednecks dream come true... Burn shit without gasoline.

  • @NitroDog19 lmao!

  • OMG U dont wanna stand before that deathray!

  • Holy Shit. I never have to melt things in the forge again!

  • now that is power of the sun. epic. every evil genius needs one.

  • Isn't that the slowest man on earth?

  • sooooooooooooo are you jesus?

  • Where's your God now? Muhahahahahaha!!!!11

  • From melting steel to Top Gear?

  • @cedry2ks kinda. more like from Top Gear to melting steel; he did this in between series.

Still, doesn't really make any more sense this way round...

  • Problem, aircraft carriers?

  • @roflschofel

good luck getting at focal point distance.

  • @rogerpenna just look at the focal point of a satellite dish and align it to the sun. it wouldn't be that hard with the right tool. My only guess is aligning the mirrors on the satellite. Guess that's the big secret.

  • WOW. That must be some serious light intensity. The self-incandescence of the metal can't even get over it and you can actually see the REAL color of liquid iron! It really looks like liquid IRON, not lava! :)

  • james may<3

  • i dont get it if its 5000 time the power of the sun why hasnt the steel just vanished and melted in an instand and disappeared

  • @Fatalsh0ts He is saying the focal point is 5000 times stronger than that of just the sun hitting it normally. You also have to wait for it to "absorb" the heat.

  • The invention was patented by Priest Himalaya and was on display in st. louis in 1904.

You can see in wikipedia on Padre Himalaya.

This unit was the great attraction of the Universal Exposition in St. Louis in 1904, winning two gold medals and one silver.

  • It's Stain. no steel.

  • @armanduzzolo81 it is steel. I have just seen this show now (episode 3) and those ppl are making fuel from "air" using 2500+ C temperature to break hydrogen from water (from what i've understood)

  • how come no one has watched this example of the power we are not using from the sun??

  • @anyname666 because:

-the sun is never around when u need it

-mirrors have to constantly track the sun

-mirrors will be facing up and collecting dirt and be to hard to clean

-expensive as hell coz of the complexity and high maintenance

There are projects that collect sun this way and make electricity via steam engine or stirling engine but they are far from an economic reality sadly
