Just a little side point. You do know that the spelling Jehovah comes from the early Dutch bibles? In Dutch this is pronounced Yehowah. I asked A Hebrew language expert about the pronunciation of the word & he said 'until we find a 3500 year old tape recording of how it was said - NOBODY CAN KNOW HOW IT WAS ORIGINALLY SAID, so it's not a problem as long as people know who you are talking about.'
I know about the translation of Jehovah, I also know it's a complete mistranslation. I don't know how you can't see the irony of a group saying how important it is to refer to God by name, then when it's pointed out how it isn't God's name they start on points saying it's not important as long as he knows who you're talking about. If I say Lord or God or Bob and I'm thinking about the God of the bible, he knows I'm referring to him, that must be equally fine.
Not true - to many people God = Jesus or God = Trinity. See 1 Corinthians 8:5,6 - it's the same today. THE LABELS YHWH- YHVH - YIHUWEH - YAHWEH - JEHOVAH - IHOVAH all stand for the one true god (eloheem) & people recognise them as such. Since biblically just using 'eloheem' actually only means 'mighty one' and is applied to people also.
And to just as many Jesus doesn't equal God nor is he a trinity. There are thousands of religions that are unitarian. For them LORD and GOD stand for the one true god of the bible. If it's so incredibly important for God to be known by his name, one would think he would make the name and pronunciation readily available. Add to that he probably wouldn't give his people the wrong name to call him, especially since the literal name Jehovah is the name of an anicent pagan God.

Hi Tim, Good video's by the way. Nothing wrong with questioning. You must have a big lawn, if mowing leads to such thought.
The Gospel message is a simple message, it's God way of offering a free gift of redeeming you back to himself, but the gift is not yours till you take it. It's simple enough for a child to understand.
God does reveal himself in so many ways, look around you, look at your daughter and see her design.
A person must seek God, and step out in faith, then God reveals himself.
Not too big, an acre and a half. My daughter's birth is actually what convinced me of evolution conclusively, the hospital was short nurses so I actually had to actively help in the delivery. When seeing it, I saw it was just like animal births that I had witnessed. There was no difference at all. Nothing miraculous about it, another part of nature.
It offers me a realistic existence, it doesn't mean I treat her any worse than anyone who finds birth miraculous. What of the consequences if Islam is right and you're wrong, or Hinduism, or Taoism. That would be the worst, we'd both be getting beaten by a kanabo for eternity. We have the same chance of being right with all the religions in the world which is slim to none.
Evidence that God is real.. all you have to do is study Israel and that they even exist is a miracle. Knowing and hearing from God is all the evidence I need to know that religion is not the answer. I am never out to sell religion, you need to separate the two, no religion is right. Knowing God is the only way to know truth. If evolution were true then the WT is a good thing, men who made themselves God's and enslave millions, pedophiles acting out the animal behavior... No wrong or right, cont.
continued.. I personally believe that cult groups that manipulate people deserve God's judgment. If some pedophile were to rape you daughter and say well we are all just animals so who cares... Really you should study the agenda behind the teaching of evolution... do you want to live in a society that does not value individuals? That is where this leads, Hitler used is to say Jews were apes, so why not kill them all, they are just animals right??
This is very much a straw man argument that has nothing to do with evolution, you're arguing the conscience thing without saying it. I accept evolution and I still value human life, atheistic cultures still have prisons, your argument here doesn't have any merit.
This is both a straw man and an arguement from emotion. If humans are just animals than life is meaningless, whether or not this feels emotionally fulfilling has nothing to do what is true. Cancer can strike anyone anytime and is often fatal. Depressing isn''t it? Doesn't mean it can't be true.
Call it what you want. If you choose to believe in a Theory that is your decision. I'd rather choose truth. It takes a lot more faith to believe in the evolution theory then to believe in God creating all things. In the end you will still stand before him, no matter what fairy tale this world offers up to keep you from truth. We all know within us wrong and right, good and evil, unlike an animal. We will also be held accountable for how we live as well.
You mean choose to accept overwhelming evidence vs. no evidence whatseover. We all don't know right and wrong it's subject to the time and culture in which we live. I'm cool with being held accountable, now if you've picked the wrong religion, will you be?
I didn't pick a religion, I chose God . Until you see the difference you wont get it. God is not based on religion. ( man's interpretation of God) and you can not understand God without God.
Evolution is based on theory not fact, a lot of circular reasoning ect ... I do understand where you are coming from though. Until God makes himself real to you, but you have to come to a place where you seek something more.
So you believe Allah, Zeus, Yahwey, Jehovah, Krishna, etc are all God? Evolution is absolutely based in fact, God is base din circular reasoning. God created the Earth because he said he created the earth. Evolution has actual verifiable data like the fossil record or the Miller-Urey expiriment, or the Italian Wall Lizard.
Actually they base the fossil age on three components, you're forgetting carbon dating along with the layers of dirt, they also can test this with the ice cores from the elements found in the air surrounding the fossils.
You're thinking of the 1st law of themodynamics which it does not defy.
Actually your probability is a bit off, since there is 1 case of life that you're basing this on the actual probability is 1 in 1.
God hasn't commissioned anyone to convert people to a "religion". He has commissioned people to spread the gospel, and to put faith in Jesus. Christianians are not called to be know-it-alls. As I said scientific facts are only facts until the next scientist proves them wrong, if thats what you put your faith in then that's why you have a problem believing things. The bible however has a 0% prophecy fail rate: just coincidence...?
I can point to androgenous retro-viruses, the fossil record, and observed evidence for evolution. I accept the evidence presented to me, I understand it therefore I accept it. I'm pretty sure you're talking about abiogenesis not evolution though. For Jesus to have fufilled prophesies you would have to prove that the prophesies were written before he existed, then prove he existed, then prove outside of someone simply saying so that he did fufill them.
Abiogenesis or evolution, there are is no proof undeniable proof between species and science cannot get a living organism from nonliving matter. OT Hebrew and Aramaic manuscripts date back several hundred years BC. Jesus did exist, there's far too much proof to say otherwise. How exactly do you expect me to prove the latter?
Sure there are, the Red Wolf is one that was a hybrid that is now a reproducing species. It was interspecies. Miller-Urey expiriment made organic compounds from non-organic ones, they have made RNA from those organic compounds and just recently discovered how RNA self replicates. You need to read up more. What proof are you speaking of that Jesus existed? External of the bible?
For proving that Jesus fufilled a prophesy, that's easy show the prophesy in the dead sea scrolls or something older than Jesus, then find an external of the bible eye-witness account of it. Or archeological evidence of the event occuring. They kept records of lineage you could prove that, there's lots of ways you could, it's just that you can't.
It is a cross between a fox and a wolf which was a hybrid much like the Mule, but it now reproduces. You're kidding about the hominid evidence right, there's hundreds of fossils that are transitions. Josephus was an admitted forgery and the only references to Jesus in Roman writings were from decades after his existence and either tell the story of what Christians believe or are just about Christians theselves. So yeah, try again.
In 1990 an ossuary was discovered in Jerusalem dated back around A.D. 62 the inscription on the side identifies it as having belonged to "James, son of Joseph, brother of Jesus." A.D. 62 was the year James, brother of Jesus, was martyred.
"There's hundreds of fossils that are transitions" - that's debatable there's many scientist that would disagree.
I can understand where you're coming from. Human nature is to generally believe whatever appeals to you. Old science truths are proven wrong all the time by new research. There are scientist who do not believe the planet or universe is as old as others make it out to be, but yes they are a minority. Besides "new truths" (sound familiar?) science is still full of gaps.
With regards to your illustration God hasn't asked Christians to fix the problem.
I'm not saying he did, however he is sending people with limited knowledge out to convert people to the "right" religion. If they don't accept the story, even if it's based things they know aren't true then they're damned to hell or death. That's what the illustration is.
Ah Baptists, when I had to go door to door they were the easiests of all treligions to confound with my knowledge of the scriptures.
There's a light on my left side that when I held up my hands you can see shadow on. I do find it quite funny that Christians and JWs alike never address the issues in the video they pick some trivial thing to comment on to shift the conversation away from the issue.
Good video. The traditional teaching of God and mankind does not work when held up to scrutiny. An atheist is much closer to God than a Christian. Really, does the Witness teaching hold out that much hope to begin with? The chances are very high that God is going to kill you for misconduct.
Even if it were true, why bother. It's like a kid who has an abusive father, it's just this Father can read your fucking mind. Nobody loves the JW God, not even one JW? It's impossible.

There are Limitations to variations within a species.
How does the theory account for this?
sgentlemanjack112 2 years ago
i read up on the lizard, and as i suspected, there is no new genetic information added...
.therefore it is a variation within the existing code..
this does not explain macro evolution.
This was an example of natural selection...which also does not explain macro-evolution.. which is the crux of the matter
sgentlemanjack112 2 years ago
It was not a throw-back though, it gained a huge valve for digesting vegitation. Macro-evolution is pretty easy to explain when you take into account genetic drift and time. What about merged Chromosome 2 in the human genome, it was a mutation of primate DNA. There's a speech by Ken Miller regarding this.

Using a "religion" as your justification for being atheist, is silly.
If there is a god, any religion created and perpetuated by man, will ultimately be corrupted.

I think something can be said for the circular reasoning of the "evolution" theory they force us to defend.
They base the age of fossils, on the layer of strata in which it is found.
Yet they base the age of the layer, on the types of fossils that are present..That indeed is circular reasoning.
Not to mention the 2nd law of thermodynamics, which the current theory defies.
The probability of 2,000 amino acids combining perfectly to create life is 1 x 10 to the 40,000 power.
sgentlemanjack112 2 years ago

Can you name a prophesy that has been fufilled, that there's undeniable proof that it has been fufilled?
TimKilgore 2 years ago
I could point to the many many prophecies about Jesus, but you could simply put a spin on these like the Jew do.
Why do you ask for undeniable proof when you cannot give any for what you believe, let's take evolution. Your approach seems a bit hypocritical.
lchiddle 2 years ago
I can point to androgenous retro-viruses, the fossil record, and observed evidence for evolution. I accept the evidence presented to me, I understand it therefore I accept it. I'm pretty sure you're talking about abiogenesis not evolution though. For Jesus to have fufilled prophesies you would have to prove that the prophesies were written before he existed, then prove he existed, then prove outside of someone simply saying so that he did fufill them.
TimKilgore 2 years ago
Abiogenesis or evolution, there are is no proof undeniable proof between species and science cannot get a living organism from nonliving matter. OT Hebrew and Aramaic manuscripts date back several hundred years BC. Jesus did exist, there's far too much proof to say otherwise. How exactly do you expect me to prove the latter?
lchiddle 2 years ago
Sure there are, the Red Wolf is one that was a hybrid that is now a reproducing species. It was interspecies. Miller-Urey expiriment made organic compounds from non-organic ones, they have made RNA from those organic compounds and just recently discovered how RNA self replicates. You need to read up more. What proof are you speaking of that Jesus existed? External of the bible?
TimKilgore 2 years ago
For proving that Jesus fufilled a prophesy, that's easy show the prophesy in the dead sea scrolls or something older than Jesus, then find an external of the bible eye-witness account of it. Or archeological evidence of the event occuring. They kept records of lineage you could prove that, there's lots of ways you could, it's just that you can't.
TimKilgore 2 years ago
The red wolf is a modern day cross breed this is completely different from getting a human from an ape with no fossil evidence.
There are both Jewish and Roman writings that prove Jesus' existence.
Read the lost books of the bible that were rejected in the 4th Century - there are many in them. Josephus wrote things about Jesus.
lchiddle 2 years ago

"There's hundreds of fossils that are transitions" - that's debatable there's many scientist that would disagree.
lchiddle 2 years ago
Except for the fact the artifact was not found in it's original environment it was found through the market, so it could've been from anywhere.
Could you name the scientists and their credentials that actually disagree with hundreds of transitional fossils?

Props kilgore. No sound quite as sweet as unrelenting common sense.

With regards to your illustration God hasn't asked Christians to fix the problem.
lchiddle 2 years ago
I'm not saying he did, however he is sending people with limited knowledge out to convert people to the "right" religion. If they don't accept the story, even if it's based things they know aren't true then they're damned to hell or death. That's what the illustration is.

No, I was not speaking metaphorically. When you held your hands up at the beginning on the video, they were obviously dirty.
Also you mumble.
I'm a pastor at Landover Baptist Church. Come visit us if you want to avoid spending an eternity in a lake of fire being sodomized by satan.

You need to wash your hands, heathen.

I have to wash my hands constantly Madeline isn't potty trained quite yet. Oh wait you were speaking metaphorically right LOL.
