We had way worse than that in Rantoul on Chanute AFB in the late 80's. It's still sucks when ice hits. I can't remember the year it happened when we were there but it had to be between 85 and 90, likely 87, 88 or 89.

Looks bad, but this is nothing compared to the ice storm we just had in New England (Dec 2008).

my town collinsville illinois worst hit with 90% of our town had no power for 10 days. the ice was over 2 1/2 inches thick with 3 inches of snow(i am 5 minutes st. louis)

Was stationed in Rantoul on Chanute AFB in the late 80's/early 90's and we had an ice storm way worse than the one pictured. Power in base housing areas was out 7 days even with the civil engineers and the power companies working on it. Either way those ice storms suck, which is why I retired well south of the snow and ice belt.

I live in a town in central illinois called ogden we had one of the worst tornados in central illinois. We get one every 20 years its wierd.

yes...i remember that ice storm now...decatur was w/o power for many days...whole area was brought to a standstill it seemed...excellent footage!
