Canada's owning everyone only in WJC, the U20 championship, if you look at either the "real" WC and the U18 championship it's not sticking out in any way. It has just as many gold medals in WC as Czechs since 1991, and before that you know who was the leader. Canada was owning everyone in WC before the Soviets, but that was like 100 years ago. Sure NHL has many Canadians, but there are many Americans too, and U.S. sucks in hockey.

Well when the Soviets played the NHL from 1976 to 1991 the winner was usually USSR and besides, even when the NHLers won on the rare ocasions, it doesn't mean they were all Canadians. Montreal was one of the best, no surprise there, but still they won only half of the games played. In ALL of WC's Canada has 6 more medals than USSR/Russia, thats total, not gold, they're tied at 24 by gold actually. Since 1991 it has really been Czech-Finnish-Swedish show. As of 2008 we're bach to Canada-Russia :)
