Ok, I never said I was a major in music - in fact, the only music class I ever had was in third or fourth grade. Let me say it again; if you combine a minor and a seventh, you get a modal chord; if you combine a seventh and a sixth, you get the major chord. What confuses me, is the sixths are also minor sevenths, but I never figured which is which. I wish I never started talking about this technical stuff! I just plays the autoharp!
Excellent rendition! Was pleasantly surprised by the song. Question - are there chord structures on a chromatic 15 bar OS that can make different chords? That might be stupid question, but I thought I saw once where you can puch two chords to make a differnt one? Or does oneneed to get a completely different bar? I'm looking to play a A but only have Am and A7.
If you press any minor and seventh, you should get what's known as a modal chord, which is the major missing one note, and that would be acceptable, especially if others are playing the major chord at the same time. If you had a seventh and a sixth (or minor seventh), you could get the complete major. Example: Am+A7=Amodal; Am7+A7=A. I have a three row harp that has sevenths (top row), sixths(middle row) and major sevenths (bottom row). Sixths and major sevenths pressed will give you minors.
Thank you SO much! I can't wait to go home and give it a try! I might have to move my bars around to make it comfortable but this opens many doors for me!
Thanks for your beautiful rendition of of this profound song. It contains a wonderful message for us all. I recall Red Fowly singing this many years ago.

@gfharper Dear gfharper, I´m a little confused now. Is it possible that Am7 + A7 = Amodal7 ??? Am7 = C6. Next: C6 + C7 = C Kind regards from Thomas
