  • British commentators are the best...they draw u into the race with such poetic lyrics that contributes to the andrenalin rush a true T&F fan gets at the start of a race...love them

  • If you watch from 6:05 to the end of the race on the replay; You will see that Powell had some technical problems. He was running along the line on the left and then he suddenly started to move to his right, thus slowing him down. They are both sick frast though.

  • dang that girl at 5:13 is pretty tall she's almost asafa's height

  • @buffblaze, I would agree cause Ato Boldon is not American.

  • Usain in the MEMBRAIN!......Usain in the BRAIN!

  • We always have brilliant commentators in every sport... for some reason

  • its because british people train commentators and americans train athletes

  • asafa wanted some fame so he kept proping usain lol

  • if usain bolt gets good starts i wonder what time he would get

  • @McBeatboxStatik He gets good starts... Asafa just gets the best starts.

  • me too i prefer british commentators as opposed to american.

  • uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuusssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooolllllllllllllllllllllllllllltttttttttttttttttttttttt iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiissssssssssssssssssssss bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbeeeeeeeeeeaassssssstttttttttttt

  • I still don't understand how slow 03 was....kim collins was the world champ!!

  • im a big fan of asafa powell, i think he should watch these vids and see how he used to be when he actually dived to try to win races

  • I love ur track and field announcers- who are they ? lol anyways, greetings from overseas- the Czech Republic Bolt fan :P

  • Lols the first to fourth placing. The entire Jamaican 4x100m Olympic team.

  • Bolt is the best athlete ever. He does not use drugs. He will be falsely accused 2 weeks after he breaks the 100 m record for ever and ever at Berlin, by the same illuminati that will shortly after vassassinate the swine.

    Why?

In a collapsing economy in overtime, the BIG PHARMA industry, despite being NO MORE able to escape declining revenues, accounted for more than 60 pct of total illuminati profits.

Ben Johnson 1988 was the first victim of ...

    *** Google ***

    doping-conspiracy.blogspot

  • @Truth666 so u predicted Bolt breaking the 100m record in Berlin...excellent

  • the reporters are sooooooo cruel in a funny way, he was like look at his nervous face lmao

  • Lol i laughed at that remark. "Nervous look on that face." HAHA

  • did anyone see powell start that shit was crazy

  • asafa powell's 9.83, the fastest 2nd place of all time

  • so it was, until Tyson Gay achieved his spectacular 9.71 seconds in Berlin.

  • Now 9.71 Tyson Gay

  • @topdogcoolcat its 9.69

  • Methinks if all Americans were modest like Padgett (at least he seems so here), people wouldn't despise them so much...

  • **JAMAICA** TO THE WORLD!

  • From the top view 6:06 ...powell didn't run in a straight line... if he had he might have won

  • was the headwind - 0.9 or -1.3

  • copy and past if u think ANZO89 is a fucking rasict!!..

  • Imagine that Ben Johnson did those times 20 years ago...Da ya think they re not on dope of some kind or another? We shouldnt dupe ourselves...Respect to the great Big Ben

  • jim hines ran 9.95 20 years before that..and Cal Smith 9.93 7 years before ben johnson. The days when drugs were core to an athlete's training were the 60s and late 50s, then we had the 70s, then there was some level of crack down in the late 80s, then it was pretty tough in the 90s so they went for "the clear" designer gear..now they have retrospective testing...its darn hard to cheat now. even if you do cheat, you cant be on anything that effective..not compared to yesteryear..

  • Why do you think your opinion is right? Where the hell did you get this info from?

    You are incorrect.

  • We all know how great Bolt's 100m performance at the Olympics was...9.69...and slowing down; but think about this...in the race above, Bolt ran 9.77 running into a headwind of 0.9metres per second, after having an awful start, and in cool conditions and on a wet track...he really had to run to the line as Powell was for once giving him a run for hos money. Now imagine what he could have done on that night if the wind was in his favour and he'd had a good start...this guys something else!!!

  • your thought is really stupid. you are saying: "Now imagine what he could have done on that night if the wind was in his favour and he'd had a good start...this guys something else!!! "... bolt cant have a good start ever, he´s 2.96cm so he wont come out from the blocks as quick as a shorter runner. but ok, i´ll think in the same way as you do. what would happen if asafa would have a better resistence to speed and he could hold on his max speed from 60 to 100m? WOW! this guys something else!

  • The start he had in this race was particularly bad! Worse than even normal...so when I say 'Imagine if he had a good start...' I mean, imagine if he had a start that was good for him...it wouldn't need to be better than Powell's, just a start that wasn;t as bad as the one that he had at the event we see in this video. At the Olympic final, his start was good and helped him run a super fast time while still relaxing at the end.

Not saying that he should have the best start - just a good one

  • i agree with you , but if you watch carefully not even his olympic start was good, he tends to have a little stumble comming out the blocks most time, you'll even hear the commentators say it, but that stride and turn over counts in the end

  • loads of people think that bolt could beat michael johnsons 400m world record but i dont think he can....dont get me wrong...he is fast but he hasnt got the right type of speed :P i think he could get under 45 but not under 44

  • Thats what you think.I dont think the world has seen what he can do;if he remain injury free and hot in 2010 he can burn it up ..my opinion..bless

  • anz089...what the fuck is wrong with you? are you from one of the redneck states like texas or alabama. jesus christ go to hell you racist bastard

  • luckily i dont believe in god nor devil, so i wont go to hell :) oh and im not a redneck, actually im not from the U.S

  • ok ....still doesnt explain why your so racist....and dont go on about how black people cant be racist to white people. im white but i dont use the n-word. k so if you wont go to hell at least jump off a building

  • no thanks, i dont have the need, you jump off a building if you want.

and ill tell you something, if i said nigger it was because im not from the U.S and really i dont know how to say in a good way the word nigger, about a month ago i said to a person on youtube the word "black people" and then he told the same as you when i said nigger, sooo i dont know how to say that word??? coloured people??? i dont know?

  • God made Man, then he made the Superior Black Man!

  • racist

  • What's wrong with that? Nothing!

  • Well my statement isn't based on the degradation of other people, when white people make comments pertaining to race it usually contains demeaning and vulgar words.

Lastly, I don't think theres anything wrong with white people thinking their great, but I do think there's a problem when they act on that delusion and start treating people they deem as none white badly.

  • P.S. You came out with the racial insults first, which goes back to what I was saying, can't you guys just love yourselves and leave it at that, why must you downplay others in order to feel better about yourselves.

  • if you watcg the race fro bird's eye view you will see asafa all over the place & nearly stepped out his lane.this wabbly movement cost him in the end gotta hold that form right through the race

  • british commentators are so much better at track and field than american commentators.

  • @buffblaze every commentator has their own style. Sounds like you are not an American because our commentators brings the excitement!!!!!

  • @justlovesong2u Sorry to break it to you mate, but british commentators are definately better than the americans at track and field.

youtube.com/watch?v=0Xj76R710uM&feature=channel - between 2 commentators, neither manages to mention ANY other sprinters in the race - Bailey & Blake set PR's. Blake was 20 and ran 9.93! But no, they said the same thing about Bolt's top speed in 3 different ways to try and highlight its significance. British commentators deliver facts through knowledge

  • @buffblaze Maybe, but the italians are the best.

  • by the end year 2017 100m world record will lowered to 9.48sc and 200m 18.90sc by usain bolt. asafa powell will set personal best with time 9.64sc before london olympic. tyson guy never set world recond either 100m or 200m.

  • Why is it always drugs with u ppl...he has always had the potentail..ex running 10 at the age of 15...for 5 years after a shaving some tenths is so hard to do?

Btw..on the race..asafa sucks at challenges..bolt had a horrible srt and still won the only way powell can beat bolt is to be more conservite in the srt because no one can finish as good as bolt, even with his bad srts..

It seems as if only powell and thompsan have a petty chance at beating this may and maybe gay in his prime.

  • asafa always starts off really fast.look at him at the beginning but he does not have speed endurance if you ask me.

  • The richness of Jamaica continues to bring joy to the world!!!!We eat hate and spit out LOVE!!!!!!

  • 1st 2nd 3rd 4th = jamaican relay team

  • Usain Bolt rulezzz

  • I believe that usain bolt against powell and gay during summertime and a headwind of only .05 m.p. s. and a million dollar bonus can go under 19 second's in the 200m, also lower to 9.45 second's in the 100meter race.

  • One day I'll beat Bolt.

  • lol... one day

  • 9.77 im not impressed anymore lol

  • lol. even asafa's 9.72 didnt headline!...great time to be a sprint fan.

  • Jamaica to the world!

  • Black People are GODS!!! woooow

  • Asafa always gets so tense before starting. He should get exited. He should have more fath in himself!

  • bolt has the potential to demolish his own record. God knows what time he would of got if he pushed hard and didnt celebrate during the race, frightening really

  • that was close man and that was a good 100 m sprint but i think if Asafa trins much harder he might just get there but i dont think Usain will late him lol

  • who is faster? walcott or Bolt.? I am sure Bolt is faster but by how much compare to Walcott..?

  • Walcott is nowhere near a pro sprinter - he just looks faster compared to other football players.

  • yayay... i agree with you on that..

  • Do you know Bolt and Walcott are of the same origin? Walcott`s grandparents are from Trelawny in Jamaica which is Bolt`s home town.

WAlcott is the Usain Bolt of football.

  • bolt is better only if he got a better start. oh wait, even with a bad start he still is better than asafa "choker" powell

  • haha true, terrible start from bolt compared to the other sprinters, but he's the man!

  • Do say that about Asafa.

He is a legend, one of the best sprinters ever..maybe only Bolt could ever beat him in a one off race.

  • shut up faggits-call him a choker-what have you done with your life that you can talk down on him?

    fuckin loser...

  • wow that was close!

  • ya men usain bolt make jamaice proud......

    i'm jamaican....go usain bolt go....

  • jamaican yam+ boiled green bananas= world record broken.... no drugs necessary.

  • Asafa is an amazing sprinter and maybe the second best 100m runner ever, but Bolt is simply out of this world, as he has shown from youth days.

He is the most gifted athlete who ever lived, and Asafa is the only one who can seriously challenge him.

  • Whoever thinks this dude isn't juicing is fucking retarded. 10.03 last year to a 9.69. Get the fuck out of here.

  • Many people are ignorant of Usain`s potential, or about T&F.

    1. Usain ran 10.3 at age 15.

    2.Usain ran 20.58 at age 15

    3.20.13 at 16

    4. 19.93 at 17

    5. 19.88 at 19(injury plagued, poor training habits)

    19.75 at age 20-21

10.03 at age 20-21(though he didn`t have a great start, wasn`t focussing on the 100 but still had a natural speed superior to any athlete in history).

So with better training habits, technique, start and more strength 9.69 happened.

  • 1meGigo you are spot on. who- ever, has had a junior career like Bolt...and if you're already winning everything you enter- by large margins..then why even contemplate steroids?..fact is that this guy ran a 10.03s 100m THE FIRST TIME HE EVER RAN ONE. its no surprise to have usain running 19.3 200m for most whove followed his progress. the 100m times are a bit of a surprise though- as he never did that event...but if you can do 19.3 200m then anything freaky in the 100m is possible.

  • Correct Bnewman 227.

I agree his 100m exploits have suprised us but he`s be surprising th world from age 15.

He ran 10.3 at age 15 in the 100, which wasn`t hsi favourite event.

Now he is much stronger, fitter, trains harder with a better technique, ehnce the improvement.

Also, recall when he pulled up at the world champs a few years ago?

He ran in lane 1, was leading gatlin and co over the first 120 meters, so the potential was there.

  • in 2007 he ran a 10.03 one year later he is run fast then 9.6 at fifteen he runsa 19.9 and five years later he is runing 19.30 his capaalities show to be gon on and off it s atrend look up drug conspiracy with athleets. he is a conspiracy. the commite is hiding him form this and only years to come u will see what i mean.

  • you're wrong as usual ...same as in the other threads at YT. Drug suspicion comes up when athletes plateau then suddenly improve. Moreso when they have hit their mid 20s. Thats when its suss. And almost without exception every person whos been busted have exhibited those traits. Bolt hasnt exhibited any. I'll say it again..why use if you have won everything your whole life and if you are using, why create such suspicion by posting unbelievable times?- wouldnt you do it more subtley?

  • ill let others decide whos the moron by checking out your posts versus mine...it doesnt take long to see that you insult and fight with everyone and dont back it up with coherent argument- you resort to cuss and a 5 year old level of comprehension and grammar.

  • LOL U FOOLISH LAD

  • You must be american? You think everybody likes to cheat like you. Ass wipe Carl Lewis! Does he think his negro genes just mutated differently because he is an american. Usain Bolt is real; Asafa is real.

  • "negro genes?"

    Fuck you, asshole.

  • i agree..what's so surprising about the 100m in 1983 world record being 9.93, and then in 1991 being 9.86, and then- 17 years later it being sub 9.70? To me, the WR progress has continued as it should. Albeit Bolt is a freak which has caused the progression to bump. Johnson was the same. No one spoke out about him. IMO 100m for men has been underperforming for the last 20 years. Bolt and Powell just bring it back in line. 0.25 in 25 years is about right. thats only 0.01s per year.

  • Its not the 18th fastest. If he runs 9.77 4x its equal. I meant its the 8th fastest time thats been covered in 100m..

    Thats what I meant dude.

  • fair enough... you could rank them according to wind reading also. i never said that 9.83 wasnt any good. What i said was that asafa "choked". by that i mean that he just doesnt flow when he's challenged. its a real problem for him and in this race i think it cost him a victory and a 9.75 or faster time.

  • I was saying that he chokes at challenges as well. His Coach has come out and said that he still has not mastered the art of running throught the rounds, especially a final only 2 hours after the semi finals.

  • bnewman your a freaking retard. asafa powell doesn't *choke*. it's simply because he doesn't have either the conditioning to do 4 races in 2days (the olymic 100m), or he simply has a slower refractory rate then everyone else. Meaning he can't come back to 100% as quickly. He does not choke... if you notice he always states how he 'ran out of gas'. His legs are tired on account of how he isn't at 100%. even the critics need to get this right.

  • whatever

powell's record shows that he ties up when challenged...its a theme that is well known amongst observers of the sport. you cant claim any BS about recovery as he ran 9.87 in rain the week before, then 9.82 and then a 9.72 and when interviewed he said he felt great etc etc etc. Powell gets caught in the trap that other good sprinters have suffered from in the past. He tries to go faster when he should be relaxing and accepting deceleration. He shouldve ran 9.77 or better in this race.

  • even if asafa could have run 9.77 or better whos to say he could of beaten bolt. We dont how bolt would have reacted. That could of made him run even faster. The fact is that bolt ran 9.69 at bejing jogging. In my opinoin the only person who stands even a chance against him is tyson gay when hes back on form

  • agreed. except for the bit about tyson gay. IMO Bolt is untouchable.

  • -1.3 wind. if 0.0 powell would have run 9.76 bolt 9.70. these are actuall basic times. so you can see powell didnt choke, usain is just better. also were are powells splits for this race because i cant find them anywhere.

  • powelll ddint choke ur right he sucks ass

  • hey fuck you usain beat him by .06 seconds this guy is fast he dont "suck ass" what is your problem?

  • u r one unintelligent dude! what have u accomplished in ur brief existence...can u run 9.83 seconds? I'm sure u cant so shut that hole in your face...Asafa may not perform the way we would like when he should but how can u judge a man and u've never run a hundred metres in his shoes...dude u need to chill and have some sense.

  • haha wut atypical dumbfuck i could careless what u say bitch hhah sory ass poewll

  • bullshit. -1.3 is 0.04s. So how do you get 0.07 from that?..its a sinple calculation. 0.03 x 1.3 .....google it.

  • Since when did having fun become cocky?

  • Asafa didnt choke.. Bolt just has superior top-end speed idiot!

Asafa has run under 9.85 3x since Beijing, and he'll do it again when he wins the Circuit Finals. IM predicting 9.75.

9.83 is not a choke! thats one of the TOP legal 10 fastest times ever.. Get your facts straight.

  • actually 9.83 is 18th all time. its asafa's 10th best time. thats the facts. not your bullshit. Asafa choked - his final 40m splits were slower than he's done over the last few weeks when he wasnt challenged. Furthermore asafa's top end speed is the same as bolts. Checkout Sports Scientists website for analysis.

  • Its called having fun, these sports people are too serious. Its suppose to be fun! Asafa didn't choke, Bolt is just faster than him!!

  • asafa choked again...its like he throws an anchor when someone is next to him.

  • i wouldnt say that he choked but it was a big improvemnt for asafa. it seems that even before the pre race in beijing he dont look tough he needs to toughen up have to make his presence felt. hope someone tells him that

  • if he didnt choke then how come the week before he ran 9.72 and could only manage 9.83 today?he was clearly ahead, and his 10m splits show that he ran the last 30m significantly slower than last week-even accounting for the wind. shit YT has the dumbest athletics commentary on the internet-a whole bunch of people posting opinion instead of fact and then arguing about their unproven, speculative comments. asafa has run better than this EVERY TIME since the olympics when he hasnt been pressured.

  • well i think since you seem to know everyhing maybe you should get a job as a commentator and analysis with the IAAF.and furthur more i`m not a commentator its just an opinion just like yours. veryone on here got opimions whether youmight htink they are right or wrong

  • i didnt post any opinion, dickhead. only fact- unlike the morons here at YT. Additionally since when did commentators know anything about this stuff?...if you want real science then goto the south african sports institute's blog and youll find that what i write is pure fact..based on measurement, not subjective, uninformed blab. if that means i know everything then thats just another conclusion you've pulled from the air.

  • could you run 9.83 you cock sucker maybe you should try and appreciate the times he may not be the best but hes good keep the science crap out of it

  • nice comeback. i'm in your head arent i?..lol..what are you, 12 years old?...gets the science out of it- i bet you're a Palin fan eh?

  • yeh one year older than you lol

  • im 37...dont believe everything you read. its my son's account.i cant be bothered registering one for me too...do you honestly think a 12 yo could write like this?... i think you're proven yourself...lol

  • yeh you lol stop using your son as an excuse

  • This performance is probably even greater than what Bolt did at the Olympics, 9.77 into a 1.3 headwind with a terrible start is incredible!

  • erm..no. remember bolt couldve gone low 9.6s in beijing. 1.3 headwind is only 0.04s lost compared to still.

  • its a bit more than 0.04

  • no its not. it is 0.04. do a search on the effect of wind in 100m and see for yourself. i didnt just pull this number from my butt...id be a moron if i did that.

  • great race!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy i was born in that small island in greater island of the caribbean..........

    PROUD JAMAICAN.........

"NO WONDER THEY CAN WIN RELAYS"

  • this is how it should have been in China

  • I agree. This is how it should have been.

  • finally, ive been waiting to hear this commentary for ages
