  • 80s always the worst time for hairs

  • This is a classy song. I suggest listen to REVOLVER 1966

  • I love this song <3

    I love Paul McCartney <3

I wanna see this movie Broad Street!!!

    xx

  • John Lennon said of the song, "One of my favourites of his—a nice piece of work."

    Writing and recording:

McCartney recalls writing "For No One" at a ski resort on holiday with his then girlfriend Jane Asher. He said, "I suspect it was about another argument." The song's 1st title was "Why Did It Die?".The song was recorded on 9, 16 and 19 May 1966. McCartney sang and played clavichord (rented from George Martin's AIR company), piano and bass, while Ringo Starr played drums and tambourine.

  • creative brilliance lucidly condensed and in crystal clear form. effortlessly timeless.

  • This is from Give My Regards to Broad Street, right?

  • Right. Although I prefer the original version from Revolver, I love this version as well. This is my favorite song by Paul, just as Tomorrow Never Knows is my favorite by John. Guess what my favorite album is? ;)

  • ホ、ホルン組み立て中~!

  • 42, 67... he's still cute :D

  • man people probably thought he was getting older then but man........i would love to see a paul thats 42 in concert with MODERN STAGE EQUIPMENT it would sound awesom....... but i guess that goes with any band that is good but even at 42 looks and sounds great!

  • Notpron #47 brought me here. Glad to get that out of my system.

  • Get rid of the fuckin' sub-titles for fuck's sake.

  • they're no that bad. WATP ;)

  • @boydy666 - Naw Naw Naw.

  • Man, he is so beautiful, his spirit is so amazing and the song is so poignant!

  • ah.. now it's amazing how he knows the french horn will fit so perfectly (referring to his studio version where he did the sounds on his own)..

    what a song.. what a singer.. :)

  • It is a pity Paul McCartney hasn´t heard a recording of Beatles songs arranged by Leo Bouwer for guitar and orchestra played by Carlos Barbosa-Lima on Concord Records.

  • Maybe he has? there is a clip of Paul and CBL playing together on Paul's website.

  • i always heard "juicy nothing" <3

  • Fat go-nads?

  • i like that song with the band =)

  • He's a Beatle ..he can sing in whatever language he wants.

  • This man is arguably, simply the greatest composer that has lived!!

  • Singing in an American Accent??? Ridiculous! John sated in his last interview in 1975 with Tom Snyder that The Beatles never changed their accents as in England it was really looked down upon. If you don't have that DVD then watch the The Anthology the clip is in there. This is my favorite Paul McCartney Beatles song and I think it fits perfectly with one of my favorite John Lennon Beatles songs In My Life!

  • My favorite song too. Do you know when and where this film footage was taken? I like the piano better :) but it's ALL GOOD!

  • Wow his voice sounded wonderful then. Not like on the US tour now. Which is still sooo good

  • well, i agree with you, and i'm also a huge paul mccartney fan, but i'm just saying it's because he's getting older. He's now 67 and in here, he's 42. As you said, same as today, Paul still rocks on, and he will forever

  • Jude1942 I agree with you John, I also love Paul, I'm a big fan of his music too.

  • he sings in an american accent because when he was in the Beatles they were tryin' to sing like american rock'n'roll singers (Little Richard, Chuck Berry etc)...

There was an interview in anthology about it(=

  • I don't Think they were especially trying to sing in an american accent. It's just coming "naturally". Remembering the Anthology, I think John said something like "we tried to explain them (the Americans) it was the Liverpool accent!". I know that Paul for example did "work" a lot to scream like Little Richard. But their accents... I don't think they really worked at it. Plus it's not the Very American accent, if you see what I mean ^^

  • I don't see what you mean actually 'cuz I don't see enough what american accent should be(= I've just heard Paul was saying that he was trying to imitate american accent from his childhood(= What about John, "He had a real Liverpool accent" (as his dad was sayng)...

And after all it's all subjective(=

  • i don't know much about them trying to sound american, but it has been my theory that people with accents normally sound american when they sing, because they hold the words longer instead of quick jists, take for example, leona lewis, people thought she was american, but she's english. anyways people who have accents seem to have better chances of singing since they have variety uses in their vocals, but that's just my observations anyways go beatles!!! :)

  • McCartney jokingly replied about their singing with an American accent, 'It sells better'.

  • Give me a break pal. They've always had Brit accents, never North American. Yes they did Western music however didn't change their accents.

  • Great like any other song from Paul, I still feel sadness for John I wonder what would his reply's to Paul had been.

  • why does he sing in an american accent now?

  • well hes probably been in america for almost half of his life... so why not?

  • they sound shit. his singing is to the ears is to what his shirt is to the eyes.

  • thats a bad comparison because his shirt is atrocious but his singing is amazing

  • I miss you Traci!

  • I don't know the point of releasing that song again in the 80s when it was nothing more of a carbon copy of the original, only the new vocals are really lousy.

  • I read that the reason he did all those songs again because he didnt want them to be left on a shelf and forgotton. he said he would record them ( With The Beatles) and that was that. They stopped touring so he couldn't perform them live.

They sound good but I still love the songs when he did them as a Beatle. This song has on Paul & Ringo on the record with side musicans.(REVOLVER)

  • excellent french horn.

  • great song

  • Beautiful the french horn solo

  • That is the nastiest shirt in the world, even for 1980's

  • I don't agree with this but i do know about it and paul supposedly died November 1996, when Revolver (which included 'for no one') was release August 1996, do the math and get a life (I found this out in 5 min from wikipedia incase your wondering).

  • sorry 1966

  • Woops...'96?....he is 66 by the way.

  • Give my regards to broadstreet

  • what movie is that ? is that a movie, a movie movie ?

  • doesnt sound as good with the violins

  • What do you mean? Violins belong to this song, they're always belonged.

  • Oh, they still not belong... but it sounds as good with violins!

  • i mean it sounds better on guitar

  • Take a look at the video of eekabostatic, i also think is better on guitar. Greetings Pedro8190

  • But the original version has been played on harpsichord, not on guitar. Can you hear?

  • It wasn't harpsichord you dickhead it was an upright piano

  • But it wasn't guitar, right? Someone claimed it was. You don't have to be so rude, dude. Calm down!

  • Sorry, no there wasn't a guitar as far as I remember

  • I love this movie

  • who is the horn player in this vid? I know the original recording is Alan Civil in 1966...

  • looks like it's Jeff Bryant.

  • That's right according to data recording.

  • beautiful! thank you so much. I wanted to share this vid without having to loan out my tape! xoxoxox

  • lovely beatles song

  • 'caus taken from japanese edition video tape...

  • ummm...that looks like Korean writing....

  • お前に見えようが見えまいが、こりゃ日本語だバカw

  • 일본어랑 한국어가 그렇게 비슷한가? -_-; <- THIS is Korean.

  • and what does that mean ?
