Think of it as diving. Skiing is more like jumping off a diving board and landing facing forward is much more natural than on a snowboard where you land back down facing sideways. I think it's much easier to spin on skis than it is a snowboard as you can compact yourself much more with your extended range of motion (ie. being able to bring your legs up independently of each other closer to your body)

I completely agree. I used to ski for 12 years before switching to a board and spinning is indeed waaayyyy easier on skis, you can do a 720 off pretty much any little kicker. Too bad it just looks so stupid..

needs the song... on another note.. i may be extremely biased towards skiing... but it seems skiing is progressing much faster in trick difficulty then snowboarding... skiiers are throwing about 20 different double flips now.. 1440's.. henrik does switch 1620 mutes now.. tom wallisch is hitting ridiculous hand rails.. and snowboarding has only gotten to about double cork 12.. which was done by skiier jacob wester about 4 years ago
