  • You can carry 7kg on you for say a 4 hour hill walk with minimal trouble. If your of able body why arent you doing exercise in the first place.

  • man carrying tha weight around is suicide i just take a 18-200mm lens and a wide angle with 3 filters, and a tripod.

  • @hardcorefrom94 Well I guess you don't bother to look very far. He gives lots and lots of advice covering all aspects of photography. He's on YT, Twitter has a daily blog and all that for free. He has tons of books does workshops and on and on. My advise to you if you are getting into photography. Before you do anything, Open your friggin eyes and stop whining.

  • @newcoyote Kudos to you! I guess people just don't realize who Rick is, and that he's one of the "Explorers of Light". Best advice... Open eyes & ears, keep shooting, and learn.

  • @hardcorefrom94

"This guy" is one of the premier photographers in the world. He is giving us an overview of his gear and what he uses it for. It's not supposed to be an in depth tutorial.

  • great stuff to dream of...but too much gear for one trip...planning the shoot is lighter!!

  • Does he realize that you can't see the detail that the lens are capable in those example pictures? Youtube isn't the best forum for viewing high resolution photography.

I could be wrong but you don't want to format your cards. When you do it reuses the same section of memory, and raises the potential for card failure.

  • Way too much stuff for a single person on location. Only 2GB CF cards? What is this, 2002?

  • @esotericsean would you rather lose 2 gb of pictures or 32 gb of pictures. Many Pros and even amateur enthusiasts use what some people would consider small capacity cards because sooner or later cards fail and I dunno about you but i would much prefer to lose a few pics than all my days shooting :)

  • @Rolodojo Point taken. But I would probably need about 100 2GB CF cards for a days worth of shooting :P

  • I wish I have a fortune to buy all those equipment and top of line canon dslr.

  • Haha, that's alot of extra weight. The two bodies with two lenses will do for almost everything, you don't need to carry all that crap at the same time. But probably he doesn't, it's just for show of.

    He's a good photagrapher though.

  • Hahaha damn he is packed

  • Are you F'ing kidding me.........What do you have 3 assistants to walk into the woods? I'd put my rolleiflex or hasselblad up against your 25,000 dollars worth of plastic crap any day of the week

  • go rape denis furgason

  • Hard core. I like the idea of the external drive. All those raw file fill up the laptop hard drive fast.

  • what camera you are using/for your advice what camera is best suited for all kinds of shot...pls reply

  • it is not cameras that you should look for, but its lenses.

  • hij is gevaarlijk

  • this guy is a serious photographer

  • Ty for this vid, Love it..

Keep up the good work! 5/5*

  • I love this.

  • It's my dream to become a pro-photographer like Rick and travel the world taking pictures of anything and everything. I use Nikon rather than Cannon but still, these videos of his have helped me a lot!

  • 4:20 - ripod :P typo!

  • There's a capital T behind "ripod" if you look carefully.

  • Polarizer- when sun to the left or right only. got it. this guy is great!

  • O god you have the whole shop with you! coool.. :)

  • damn you got the whole photograph store in that bag with you.

  • lol

  • THANK U.I LEARNT A LOT!

  • Yeah...it's great, but Jesus! All that stuff costs thousands of dollars!

  • isnt his "photo jacket" the type you pick up in any fishing or hunting store its just a jacket for out doors!!!

  • It might be. But hey. It's a jacket with many sized pockets. Perfect for photographers because the most essential equipment ranges in sizes!

  • that is alot like me, i have a lot of gear and i have 2-3 bags to carry all camera lens flash and 2-3 camera bodies...but i dont have diffusers or reflectors

  • photo jacket.

    what a pratt.

i just take my camera, a couple of lenses and a normal messenger stlye bag full of memeory cards and what not.

    im not a proffesional though.

  • Geeez Jessops in a bag.

  • nice vid, but damn expensive for enthusiast's and reporteur photography too!

  • man i cant afford sht like that loll

  • lol i know right.......that's so much shit and soooooo expensive

  • real photographers can deal with minimal equipment!!!!

  • you are a jerk.

  • He's just made my EOS 400D look like them joke cameras that squirt water.Good vid though thanks.

  • Show off. My whole kit is less than one piece of glass.

  • very good vd thanks for the info.

  • Amazing! Got more valuable info in this video than in weeks of reading.

  • Loved it. That was great.

  • Thanks, that's good stuff. I will go back to it for tips.

  • really helpfully information. Even though it would take me about 7000 years to afford all those items it was still really informative.

  • Enjoyed this, irrespective of how much this all costs it's good to have any kind of advice that helps people take better shots.

  • man that was great! I look forward to the up and comming movies

  • you need a pack mule, and many thousands in hard currency. and if you are a newbie, it wont serve you nayway :)

  • Very interesting! It's funny to have read so much lately around dslr and all the equipment you might need/want, and then see them all gathered in your bags :)

But however interesting this was (it sure was), I would find it even more fantastic if you could share some of your tips, experience, concerning the taking of photos and what to think about. Maybe something that even an amateur can find useful?

  • wow, that's a lot of camera gear to take out into the field, i rarely take more than my 1d mark2n, 24-70, and 70-200 when i shoot; of course i'd love to have a wide angle, tele's, long zoom, tripod, flash, etc. but good god who has the money or the sheer strength to carry all of that; it's nice to have all those tools at your disposal, especially if you're a pro, but i've always believed in planning your shoot and bringing only what you need

  • Planning is fine, but when you are shooting wildlife and stuff like that you can not plan

  • wow, that's a lot of gear to carry on one shoot, i rarely have more than 2 or 3 lenses and one camera body with me; i'm not a professional but i have friends who are and none of them would be caught dead traveling with the more than $10K amount of equipment he has, geesh

  • if only i caould afford these stuff ! ! !

  • I want this guy's stuff.

  • i dont think you wanna spend all this money when you start out.

  • quite good info if your just starting out,
