  • This same angle was done with Jim amd the Midnite Express in Mid South in 84. I was confused when Crockett showed up, he wasn't in Mid South in 84. Then I realized it was NWA in 88 after Jim Ross started announcing.

  • Funny segment

  • JR: "Well, the party seems to be winding down, Tony. Look at him!" LOL

  • Beautiful Bobby Eaton blows his horn classic.

  • Awesome. Eternal love and respect for old school wrestling. The old boys always know how do it right.

  • Jim Cornette is the greatest manager ever in pro wrestling. We all have a calling, and Cornette definitely lived his.

  • Hmm Rock & Roll Express did the same thing to the Cornette & the Midnights (Condry & Eaton) in Mid-South.

  • That was so funny! I never saw that particular show in the '80s, but seeing Jim Cornette's face squeezed into that cake by the Fantastics is hilarious and so funny! The Fantastics put Cornette face first into the cake then ran out of the studio away from their rivals the Midnight Express! They really set Jim up!

  • @north5880 Anytime Jim Cornette gets humiliated is always funny.

  • I miss the old studio days :(

  • The Rock n' Roll Express did the same thing to Cornette in Mid South a few years earlier. In any event,it's always great to see "mommy's little boy"get a face full of buttercream icing!

  • @soln4suhreborn actually i prefer seeing Jimmy crack some fool over the head with his racket.

  • @soln4suhreborn

have you seen that video on youtube anywhere??

  • if i remember correctly,a youtuber named irishmcneils4ever posted it about a year ago but hs account vanished into thin air.

MAN,i wished it was still up,it was hillarious.

there was also a clip up from Mid South where The Midnight Express crucified The Fantastics with a steel chair-classic stuff.

  • THIS IS HOW WRESTLING SHOULD BE STILL

  • Any wrestler can sell a potato, but it takes a great manager to sell a cake!

  • Cornette is one of the best ever

  • you better cheer them on, you moron lol

  • LoL @ 1.11 !!!! Notice how Bobby tips the table over...HaHa

  • look at "Sweet" Stans complete dive at 1:23-24!!...lol...that was classic!!

    JCP!!

  • *LOL* Oh man...brings back too many memories. WTBS on a Saturday afternoon :)

  • yes is the best

  • The best was the Mid-South cake slam. Corny yells at Jim Ross for running the tape then Bill Watts come out and says'"I gave the order to run the tape,I Thought it was funny." Corny insults Watts and his son, then Bill slaps him. Later on when talking to Butch Reed,Watts gets beat up by the Express and Reed justs walks away.

  • @yardlet6

And that was about the hardest slap ever seen on TV. In his book, Watts praised Cornette for taking such a hard shot.

  • Yes - this was the third version of the angle, but the first to a nation wide audience who probably never saw the first two.

  • Cornette and the Midnight Express were awesome. Cornette and his loaded tennis racket, and his "I called up my mama..." LOL

  • Classic Cornette shenaningans!

  • Didn't Cornette get caked in World Class as well? It might have been the Fantastics that did it there as well. You would think Jimmy would learn to beware of large cakes!

  • Cornette is greatness and Bobby Eaton is the most underated wrestler of all-time.

  • talking about CAKE i thought it was humble PIE!!!

  • i love this vid!!! my fave!!!

  • This is the third time that Cornette got cake-slammed. Second was Mid-South by the Rock & Roll Express and the first was by the babyface wrestlers in the North Georgia-Chattanooga territory. There he managed The French Angel,Jerry Novak and Carl Fergie.

  • This shows why Jim Cornette was truly a great heel manager and a true heat magnet.

  • dont care wat any1 says Jim Cornette Is The Man (fuck tna cornette) the old managing cornette rules

  • I remember The Thrillseekers did it to him six years later.

  • And the Rock N Roll Express did it to him 3 years earlier in Mid-South

  • I guess a great angle is worth repeating.
