mile davies was the founder of cool-jazz and bebop, with his friends,in late 50'ies,and he met jimi hendrix in late 60ies,they jammed and worked together, had discussions about the future of blues and jazz,he was a fan of jimi, jimi was a fan of miles.Jimi started to play more jazzy,in fact he was also a furious jazz-guitar player. The influence of both you can hear on several records!
I have all official and 4 unofficial recordings, plus the winterland, isle of wight and the fillmore east recordings,i was a hendrix afficionado, with young 14,and it never left me again,he is for the guitar, what davies was for the trumpet,a totally renewer of sound, like beethoven, and a very sympathic, gentle kind of man...!And he was afraid, his blues is not authenthic and soulful enough!!!
bad ass riffing by the master bluesman- nothing but original and creative blues riffs-loveit. hadnt heard this hendrix tune since i first heard it in the90s

jamminjoe44- yes this is pre experience-june 1965.the red guitar in the slide show might not be the one jimi is playing on this track, the photo with that guitar is from 1967.
Awsome!! does anyone know what the red guitar was that Jimi was using?? Im taking a guess that its a Gibson model ... Nice sound!! Im also guessing that this was pre experience ..
johndawson420-no, curtis knight is not on this track, click on the show more button above to get the band members list. the slide show has curtis knight in it because i did not have any other pictures available at the time.
