@Grambino2012 - Asperger Syndrome was first identified and diagnosed by Dr Hans Asperger, an Austrian pediatrician; Austrian meaning Austria in Europe.
This form of Autism was first identified by an Austrian pediatrician. Therefore, it is NOT another made-up disorder by the American Psychological Association and/or Pharmaceutical companies. And medication cannot treat Asperger itself, although Aspies with depression and anxiety problems can be prescribed standard anti-depressants.
@Grambino2012 That's exactly what a neurotypical (low intelligence by your definition) would say after watching a five minute forty-three second video. Aspergers is so much more, aspergers is a different way the brain perceives the world to neurotypicals..
I was of the understanding that asperger's was not a type of higher functioning autism but that it is so close in it's psychiatric applications, and diagnosis that it is treated as the same. This in my mind is an outdated and rather lazy approach.
Fuck Ami Klin, how can this guy be a so -called "professional" he has no idea about people with Asperger's, most of us DON'T need help, though it can be an improvement.

Of course most aren't like him, he's a genius. Most of those with Asperger's have average IQs, so they are deficient without any beneficial ability.

The real question should be, "how does watching Maria Bartiromo on TV affect your life?"
