They aren't shut down. I talked to the deputy chief last week. He said everything was great on the department. (I no longer go to school there).
The Hahn did have to be totaled though. During the ice storm a year ago there was no power on campus for a week so there was no heat in the fire house for that time. The water in the tank and in the pump froze and expanded causing it to damage the pump rendering it inoperable. It's a shame, she was a nice engine.

It's actually not like a brick at all. That is only a Minitor 3 (same size as a Minitor 2 and the Minitor 4). The stored voice doesn't add any size to it. The Minitor 5, now THAT is a brick, lol. The 5 is about double the size of the 3.
While our school (unfortunately) does not offer fire science, we are one of the very few completely student run fire departments in the country. We are students of Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, New Hampshire. =)
i think what you guys do is amazing i mean most departments have older people to guide the younger guys but you guys do it all on your own and i think that deserves a congradulations

That dispatcher is pretty wordy. Here in BCoFD, we dont get much other than a box, adress, what it is, and who is going.
