First heard at a Northern Soul all nighter then it crossed over to Jazz/Funk scene as the two merged as one ended and the other took over and because of licences laws all dayers sprange up and the rest is history..............good times :-)
I'm amazed nobody has never covered this. Great song, would stand up today with a more modern interpretation of the music. Just missed out on the UK top 40, remember it well thanks to the Dave Brown Radio Kent soul show in 1982.
@REGOTOBED thank u ...great ...just moved down to the coast tho so mite have to make a trip to london one sat eve ....this brings back so many happy memories ...xxx
Oh yesssss! Cream this is!! I got the 7" version only..so this is special..although I used to buy loads of 12inch dance tunes back in the day..this one musta slipped my grasp..but hey thanks bro for the upload for us to get back to the day and relive these awesome awesome tunes...this is a tune!!!
oh my oh my, In and Out by Willie Hutch, Im young again dancing with Adrian Nurse at Ilford Palais on a saturday afternoon, LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!
i used to think that my generation had the best music being a 80's baby and growing up in the 90's, but now i can appreciate my mother's generation. Damn they brought it
You have some fantastic tunes from my past ... Aggghh!! i miss my early 20s in the early 80s ... they were my dancing in disco's about 3 nights a week times back then, getting home about 2.30am, then up for work (on a week day) at 7am bright and breezy ... LOL couldnt do that now though, am a bit past it now ;)
hear all this kinda sound in all and EVERY Dance tune and soul - bobby womack lonnie liston smith the commadores earth wind and fire.......the list goes on and on.................................
oh god....this is soooo good....reminds me of passing my driving test back in the 80's.....good times!!.....so sad these times passed ...bring back the 80's!
@JOEHAYTER Wow, It seems that you lot were around when I was DJing with all the mentioned legends below, don't forget Chris Hill and Steve Walsh Robbie Vincent. I used to play JFM Radio, Some spots with John Leach on Essex radio Oh and Dave Gregory. I played all the clubs mentioned plus Sweeney"s, Hollywood's, (Done the open night there) Caister soul weekends.
I am glad that we gave you some good times that have lasted. Oh and its still coming back to me, Epping forest country club.
I always thought somebody should have taken this and done a housed-up version - it still cuts it, with that steady disco beat. Ripe for a cover version!
I had my best party ever and this was one of the massive tunes I played at the time and I will never forget that magic evening. I still hav my copy and I still play it. Blinding stuff.
quality sounds never sound old, nice.x
