I have to play it again, no question. Unfortunately I had a bug somewhere in the middle so I had to quit - that was 2000.

That game brings the best atmosphere and world you can dive into.

( Ad&d (2nd Edition) rules! I hate all the stupid wizards of the costs adaptions :( )

the underdark storyline was one of my favorite parts, except for the mindflayers and that beholder in the lizardy guys lair

Ahh yes, the underdark. Ender of so many of my adventurers. I think half of my play troughs ended at some point during it.

@premier6666 Yeah.. The WORST thing about the Beholders is that they can petrify characters in the blink of an eye, as well as can cast dozens of nasty spells in quick succession.. Mind Flayers? well I think we both know the problem with them lol

And what exactly do you mean by the term "gimmick" runs? Is that another term for speedrun?

@LokizarroX Gimmicky, weird party composition. One class only party, solo runs, no spellcasting run, solo bard run... I like making oddball characters.

Maybe you are right. It also depends on the toolset - does it allow new monsters, Or do we have to take genlocks and call them "orcs"?

As for the setting, the FR world does not depend on D&D rules. If we can adjust the DA rules, that will be no problem.

It would be an immensly huge project though. Imagine we use professional speakers for all the dialogs :)

fooblepie: I had thought of that, but the NWN toolset is not flexible enough. Everything would have to be rectangular, and the graphics aren't too good anymore.

The D&D problem: I think the spirit of the BG series does not lie in the D&D ruleset, but in the story. We should find equivalents for most monsters, but might also have to create new ones. Another problem would be the characters - Jaheira would have to be a shapeshifter, Jan Jansen maybe a dwarf...

oh god so did i lol x3! but i did love the whole thing there..I tried to make my character look like a drow..I think that would be a really good option, for like elfs, to pick if you want to be a drow or a regular one ya know?

The politic of Dark Elf is interesting and it really test us on our judgment, plus it also test us on our love towards our chosen lover... Both Aerie and Viconia will have a different sort of jealousy when the Dark elf princess approach us..lol

Got to love the Underdark. Creepy music alongside the dark's setting makes this track extremely effective.

I still don't remember if the part after 1:48 was there; that might be because I mentally tuned it out when playing because it's generic fighting music...... I don't know... gotta find that BG2/TOB cd now I want to play the game again

Yeah at 1:48 that's the generic Combat Music... So I would have to assume that yeah they did. However... There is a distinct possibility that the combat music comes from the Underdark... Hmmm...

My fave track on the OST, aside from the shadow-tainted forest. It really captured the feeling of a vast, oppressive blackness that was the essence of the underdark.
