  • @fanmaster911 where did you get your charlston?

  • do you have any other videos of remote controlled ceiling fans?

  • Fasco made the Charleston, Great Room, and American Spirit with remote controls. The model number on this fan would be RM452WBR, I own the same fan, as well as a remote-control American Spirit (model #RM995CB)

  • I own a 52" White Fasco Charleston 2nd Generation and I love it!

  • model name is charleston

  • fasco charleston

  • How do you know this was made in 1991?

  • Great stuff, My great aunt would be really happy to see that. She is really into fans like that. Since she got a hand fan it has never really been the same. You are doing a great thing by posting this video. You don't realise how happy she will be to see this. You have the made my day, and hers!

  • p.s. Thank you very much for your time!

  • Thanks for the video - my four year old LOVED it!

So, here's a serious question...I don't fully understand why my little boy loves fans so much. I really don't understand what compels grown men to take videos, then post them, of fans. But since you ARE a grown man, you can probably explain it in a way that my little guy cannot. Please tell me...what is it about ceiling fans that so fascinates you? I'm so curious, and at 4, my son simply can't articulate what's going on in his head.

  • Don't know if anyone replied to this. I'm 14 and have loved fans since I can remember. Have you noticed how babies see a fan and are just mesmerized by its spinning? Some of us just don't grow out of it. I hope your little guy can join us someday, we'll take him in with open arms, and teach him everything he needs to know about fans. Please support and encourage him, I know some who had unsupportive parents, and they really were crushed that they couldn't pursue what they loved at a young age.

  • how old is this fan is the great room fan what year is it.

  • I like Charlestons very much, and they were some of the best ceiling fans of their time. Even today's Hunter Original is bad when you put it up against 70s and 80s fans.

Casablanca also still makes some quality products.

  • The current Casablanca ceiling fans I really like are the Capistrano, Panama, Lanai, Wailea, Stealth, and the Verazanno.

  • Everyone loves charelstons.....I wish I was of age so I could have one of these when they first came out

  • Cool ceiling fan

  • I didn't know that Fasco made the charleston with a remote control. That's cool. I wish that Fasco still made ceiling fans. Those charleston's were good quality ceiling fans.

  • I agree! Most ceiling fans made today other than Hunter Originals are trash!

  • Well, the new skeletal ones are really no different than other Hunters besides the fact that you can oil them.

  • Well, they may not be as good as older originals, other older Hunters or any other fans with stack motors, but at least their not as bad as those cheap ceiling fans because they don't have those spinner motors like most fans have. This summer I bought one of those 1930's replica Hunter "Hotel Originals with Adapt-Air." It may not be as reliable as older Hunters but I think it may be a nice collector's item.

  • Technically, the new Original has a large skeletal motor, which is a type of spinner motor.

  • It may be, but it's still well ventilated unlike those in cheap ceiling fans which are not well ventilated and basically have only one opening for a vent.

  • True.
