@Matriculon Definitely big differences! Type 2 diabetics have a resistance toward insulin and often use diet, exercise, and pills to keep themselves healthy. Type 1 diabetics' pancreases don't produce insulin, so they give themselves insulin injections or use an insulin pump. While exercise and diet affect Type 1s, they aren't nearly as strict or vital in treatment as they are in Type 2s. I am Type 1 and count carbohydrates and give insulin accordingly so I can eat whatever I choose.
How can I encourage my boyfirend who is not such a good diabetic to become more like you? and how do you do this with out him thinking im naggin? He loves carbs, fast food, sweets and doesnt test as much as he should etc.
lol the carbs thing... when my bf learned my insulin ratios it was great... sometimes its nice cuz i could be driving and he will draw up my insulin :D
Hey, dude! I loved your parody of David after Dentist. My dad(LMAO! I ALMOST PUT DADA!) has type 2 diabetes, and he's had it since I was 3, in 1997. And my mom is overweight. But here's the ironic thing, I'M SKINNY! LMAO. My dad does have to take insulin, despite the fact that he doesn't have type 1 diabetes. I love you man! LMAO.
Hey, in your David after Dentist parody, when you said "I'm feeling low" you should broke out in song and started singing that song "Low" by Flo Rida. Like this-"I'm feeling low, low, low, low." LMAO.
Hi mate, hope your well. Im a bit disapointed at the moment, unfortunately the pump is not going ahead, so unless i win the lottery, it looks like i will be remaining on injections. A bit disapointed but i will just have to make the best of it. Hope your well and keep up the good work.
my parents had a bordie collie named sheena.they also say that sheena saved my life on a few occasions.not only would she bark constantly, but she would race around the house until she found someone.sheena died in 06,and i can honestly say that a part of me died with her..keep up the great work bill
Sorry to hear about your collie. Thats amazing how dogs can do that. They even train dogs now to detect lows for people that have sever hypo unawareness. That's special. One of my subscribers has a Dog Named "Chino" that detects lows and bloggs about him. Thanks for your post, Sheena was a good doggie
Cool loved your video, especially your beautiful cat, pets are essential to diabetics, because instead of eating more carbs they seem to take your attention for play or exercise, they're great! As for relationships the best thing for diabetics too recieve is support and understanding from their significant other, and help with staying on track with eating, and exercise! I've been married 15 years and I can relate to the spouse giving me a carb count, now that's true love :) thanks!
My hubby loved the diabetes rap at the end of this video! He stopped playing on his PC and started laughing. He asked me to replay that part so I did, thanks for including it.
In high school I dated a t1 guy so our parents and teachers were always worried that one of us would have a diabetic issue at any given time! I wasn't a compliant diabetic and he was so we didn't last. We are still friends though, almost 20 years later!
i hate the diabetes police..

ThX! It's funny, some people didn't get the humor in my David after Dentist.
Thanks! :-)

YAAAAY! YOU REPLYED! LOL. I love you dude! LMAO.

BTW, Why did you disable the comments in that video?
DFDSFUEIFH 2 years ago
Because there were some nasty stuff getting said about the video and diabetics.
Funny thing is, is that I emailed David After Dentist, his father... and he just got Diagnosed with type 2 a few months before that video.
So he posted my video in the responses.

Yeah, well, you could've just deleted all those comments and blocked those users, but it's too late now. LOL. I LOVE YOU MAN! LMAO.

I kept my diabetes a secret for such a long time. Once I tried not tuck it away and learn about it, it made me feel better.
Thanks for posting your comment.

I don't agree that deep fried foods are available for everybody. I can even manage pizza well.
I do think that asking her what she wants and developing a plan to deal with hypos are good advice. And that carb counting is sexy.
