The preaching of the Cross is a stumbling block to the Jews(because they didn't believe) , and to the Greeks (them that perish) foolishness...but to US WHO BELIEVE , Christ Crucified is the power and wisdom of God.

This is speaking of those who missed the rapture but they repent and will not accept the mark of the beast or worship his image so they were martyred ...they also are included in the first resurrection because they will receive glorified bodies immediately upon their death. Sometimes it was sounded at War Times, Sometimes at Feast times..etc, etc.. There are only two Resurrections...The Resurrection of the Just and of the Unjust. The last Resurrection is for the dead (lost sinners REV 20:12-13) which will end in the Great white throne Judgement..and finally the lake of fire. So all Born again believers will be included in the first Resurrection and reign with Christ 1000 years.

The last verse (27) tells us that the Antichrist will confirm the covenant (peace treaty) with Israel for 1 week (7 years) And in the midst of the week (last 3 1/2 yrs) the Antichrist will break treaty and turn on Israel. Matthew 24:15-31 also expounds upon the last 31/2 yrs of the Great Tribulation.

A few questions. Who are the saints that are martyred during the tribulation? Are they Christians who belong to the New Covenant? Some Christians take a view that the Holy Spirit is taken out. The apostates, those who trust in some other form of salvation rather than the cross of Christ, will most likely go through the tribulation ..ie The Day of The Lord. True Bible believing Christians have always been persecuted but I don't see where we will go through the trib..The Day of The Lord ..ie..when God's wrath is poured out. I believe the pre-trib Rapture.

@CROBN This is speaking of Israel being gathered from the ends of the earth, Chronologically , this event is taking place after the Rapture Mr. CROBN.

@helmite Hi and thank you for your comment. You are right about that. In looking at the 7 churches being addressed in Revelations chpt. 1,2,3 we can conclude that some will be left. Also see 2 Thess. chpt. 2 among many other scriptures. BUT CONSIDER THE CHURCH OF PHILADELPHIA IN THIS VERSE:

Revelation 3:10

Because thou hast KEPT THE WORD OF MY PATIENCE, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth [will let], until he be taken out of the way.

8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:..........

The he who lets..that shall be taken out of the way is the church. The Holy Spirit will be here to convict...
