I reckon for 6 months thats pretty good. Its strange that when women play the banjo, they always seem to keep themselves under controll, and they time themselves personally, but when men play they always have trouble where women dont.

The concept is the same, if you can play guitar (acoustic and a lot of picking that is) you should be able to pick up the Banjo no problem, I started playing guitar 12 years ago and mainly picking all the way, and I picked up a banjo two years ago and I was in heaven. I give a lot of praise to this girl, she is fantastic if she hasn't been playing any other instruments before, keep on going love!

Nice! I like that Cripple Creek number. I have a Deering Goodtime Special banjo. I have been playing for 3 1/2 years. I play mostly basic bluegrass banjo solos like CC, Cumberland Gap, Old Joe Clark, etc. Keep up the work.

is this anything like classical guitar? I mean picking wise because obviously its not the same music. But I'm actually just learning classical style but have always wanted to get into bluegrass and banjo looks fun but I have more experience with a classical guitar than a banjo with none.

Great job! The 5-string is an awkward and difficult instrument to learn for many people, but after only 6 months, it seems to me that you've got the hang of it. In my humble opinion (banjo player - 30 yrs), you'll soon be a "bonafide banjo picker". I agree with Stanleytone... can't wait to see more.
