Get a MG30DFX, it's actually not a bad amp contrary to common belief, you can get pretty sweet tones VERY close to this on one, as well as decent cleans and some pretty heavy styles with built in effect if you use them right.

There are ton of great guitar players out there (even in here on UTube), not so many that become famous. It takes more than skill to be a great guitar player, it also takes a bad ass hat ; )

If you go on marshalls myspace they have pictures of Slash and Dave visiting Marshall testing amps out, this isnt a vintage modern prototype, they were out way before this, its a custom amp, but I think it is quite similar to a JCM, just my opinion.

Considering that this is an old clip, i think that the amp might be a Vintage Modern PROTOTYPE. Maybe Marshall asked Slash to step by when he was in england to check out their new amp. Prototypes doesn't have to look anything like the finished product.... And it would also explain why Slash now uses 100w Vintage Modern heads in his rig.

solid state means that its not a tube amp. tube amps are generally accepted as better, because they have a warmer, fuller tone and sound better louder rather than the other way round.onlly downside they cost more. The MG series is solid state.
