what I cant understand is why the Arabs are even talking about default. Ireland (my country) and Iceland didnt even contemplate default. We the Irish taxpayers are forced to pay for companies the fail to the tune of 77 Billion euros or about 100 billion dollars in a country of only 4 million people. Are we been told the truth about how much they really owe and why are the Dubais taxpayers not on the hook as the Icelandic and Irelandic people are?

Currency's exchange doesn't mean a lot. Japanese Yen is one of the lowest currencies n the world. 1 US$ is equal to 110yen(latest).

I have to say, there is no chance any Muslim nation to prosper to the level of other secular nations without either selling out the major ideals of it's religion, or abandoning the faith totally.

I have seen Muslim fathers killing their own daughters because they didn`t want to wear a hijab or turned Christian. Religion and especially the Muslim religion seems to inspire hate and irrational ideas beyond any. Sad though. I will always hope all Human beings can learn to live in Peace and Harmony. And any annalist agrees the end of this is not insight Since the US has been borrowing FREAKING TRILLIONS to save it`s economy. More US banks have gone Bankrupt then any other place on Earth. The help of European governments is peanuts compared. The US government Now even OWNS most of the US/GM Car industry and Insurance industry! Sorry my Euro friend, but you missed the big picture. Dubai is having trouble paying back it's debt which is estimated to be between $40-60 billion. Thats nothing compared to all the trillions injected in the system. The REAL problem is that European banks and financial institutions have written TRILLIONS of dollars worth of insurance on debt around the world. Its called the CDS market and it's at least a $500 trillion market.

This was expected early this year, there was no possible way for the scale of Dubai's real estates to recover soon, anybody who believed that was still asleep in the fantasy years of the last decade.
