  • WATA POOTS OUT FIYA !!! stupid fish

  • fuck i've been looking for this video for about 4 years i use to have like 20 of these beast

  • these R raRe....

  • I had some of these when I was a kid....I loved them,they were so cool :D

  • clasic game room

  • I had the bat, octopus, bison, carp, jag, walrus, mouse, samu, kangaroo, frog, fox giraffe, bear, armadillo, anteater, moose when i was a kid. Gotta catch em all, back then

  • I never realized until now that my Battle Beasts were the action figure version of Rock, Paper, Scissors.

  • So, America beat Japan to Pokemon?

  • @Fawful5 They are Japanese toys. Takara made these.

  • HOW do you play with these figures? Cannot make a story out of it...way too boring. Is there a strategy game one can make since there are so many figures

  • I regret selling these and M.U.S.C.L.E. men at a yard sale 20 years ago.

  • @LedWilde Yeah! my fav was the guy that was a giant hand!

  • @ABCMeEFG I remember him. I had a few favorites but my #1 was probably the red "ghost" looking guy with an outfit like Barney Ruble's. They each had their own personality though which makes it hard to decide really.

  • these were awesome. Too bad they were before my time and I had to rely on my brothers. Either way though I don't see how people are hating on these things; just the designs, colors, and unique nature of each of the figures were enough to make me love em. An obvious worse toy than these was those M.U.S.C.L.E. men toys.

  • @smnaotrt Actually, M.U.S.C.L.E. men were the shit back then! I used to steal them from the kid across the street. Good times!

  • I collected these religiously as a kid. I remember inexplicably losing 4, though.

  • Rock paper scissors!

  • I got fire!

I got water! Water beats fire!

    FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUCCCCKKK

  • Man, I wish I could find my Battle Beasts.

  • That kid with the water is such a prick.

  • WOOOOOOD .FIRE .FIRE BURRRRRRNS WOOD!!!! I REMEMDER THESE TOYS I HAD A SET LMAO

  • Soo.. it's litrally paper, scissors, rock but you have to pay for action figures?

  • Seriously, the dumbest toy line ever!

  • LOL! one of the most useless toy lines ever! no kung fu grip no transforming no projectile launching the just had one feature. that stupid insignia that reacts to heat.

  • I get chuckle that fact that battle beasts where in Canon with Transformers... even thot it not really that odd.

  • @apex2000 I wasn't aware of this. How were they a part of Transformers?

  • @apex2000 An episofde of the Japanese series; Transformers Headmasters would later cement that fact. :D

  • Comment removed

  • fuck yeah! thank god for youtube. where did u find this commercial lol

  • "They battle for fun". Apparently Planet Beest is populated solely by sociopaths.

  • Rock-paper-scissors ???

Just play with your hand then.

  • Good for enslaving and building Scorponok.

  • Cool nostalgia! I had one or two of those... I think I had a moose (haha... moose) and its sign was evidently wood.

  • Who in here knows about the cartoon? Man I use to say that in school all day long!!!!!! WATER WILL PUT OUT FIYAAH!!!!

  • @superstar2320784 The only animation they made for Battle Beasts was for the commercial(s). They never did have their own cartoon series, but they did make a guest apperence on one of the episodes of the Transformers: Headmasters anime.

  • FUCK and YES!

  • WAAAAATER! WATER BEATS FIRE!

These guys have the best lives ever.

  • @ScutigeraColeoptrata THEY DOOO

  • "Wood beats water!"

    "Wait, how doe-"

    "It just does, okay!"

  • @JonasAlbrecht Trees drink up water?

  • @JonasAlbrecht according to Wu Xing that even does make sense, since Wood absorbs water^^

  • I loved these things...but god that was a dumb commercial. lol.

  • Wow 84?! I thought I had all of them at 25....

  • fire can make fire...water can controll the seas, wood can chop down tree's <.<

  • I watch this video whenever I get confused about what wood, fire and water accomplish.

  • I WANT ONE

  • Fire! Water! Water puts out fire! lol classic shit i used to have. i had two of em!

  • Have you seen the Gormiti toys..they are a copy of this

  • water beats wood too. Stupid motherfuckers. Over 2/3's of the earth is covered in water. And when wood meets water for prolonged periods of time, it begins to soften and decay.

  • @2431346 I concur; I always favoured water. I also recall my 2nd-3rd-Grade self endeavouring to come up with a backstory more worthy of their look and this advertisement's cool animation (I recall thinking of something along the lines of them being humans who were struck by miniature red lightning and took to being superheroes for awhile before abandoning Earth to find a new home planet amongst the stars....lol)

  • Were those voices the Dinobots and the animation company the same folks who did the original Transformers cartoon?

  • Why can't they use their weapons instead of relaying on there element. AND they to have the obligation to REMIND their opponent of what beats what!!!! THEY SHOULD FUCKING KNOW BY NOW!!

  • what about morning wood?

  • so, this is basically rock-paper-scissors you have to pay to play. Yay.

  • Fire burns wood...

    Water extinguishes fire...

    Wood beats water...

Wait... so how DOES wood beat water? Why should we take Wood's word for it?

Anyways water should stop interfeering with the great fire vs wood fight. Fire burns down all the forests, and then water comes in to put out all the fires. When the wood is all gone, there's not much to catch on fire, and good luck running out of water.

  • it's like roshambo only not boring.

  • WOOOOOOOD

    FIIRRRRREE BEATS WOOOOOD

    FIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRREEEEE

    WAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTEEEEERR

    WAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTEEEEERR BEATS FIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRREEEEE

    WOOOOOOOOOOD BEATS HNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGHHHHHH

  • omg 84!!!

  • Im fire

    Im wood...i mean water!

  • "I got fire!"

    "I got water!"

    Got wood?

  • Wood is supposed to represent trees, which consume water in order to grow. The analogy is sound, it just needs a little work.

  • Wait...wait...so why would wood be able to defeat water?

  • My man harry liked this.

  • Cool! Rock Paper Scizzors that costs money!

  • I recall having some of these. One of them was a duck in blue armor.

  • is addicting...

  • 0:01 I WANNA BE A LUMBERJACK WITH THAT AXE!

  • sponge beast beats water beast!

  • WAATTTTTTTTTTTAAHHH!!! D:

  • what a mannly song

  • collect all 100!

  • O M G lord.. I play with this when i was kid or very young =)).. I had like over 40 battle beats =).. Favorit figure was "Leion with leather over left Eye =)

  • I remember when i got my first 2 packages of these. It came with the pirate lion and the bear, and the ox and orangutan. My friend and i eventually started collecting and had roughly 20. We would play for hours with these things. Man i miss my childhood and the 90s lol

  • I have way over a hundred of these things, I still love 'em!

  • There are over a hundred to collect - the TAKARA line had cool LASER BEASTS too! Ebay's got 'em! Now!

  • Why can't fire evaporate water?

  • I forgot about these things! I had no idea there were 84. I was use to transformers and gi Joe w/ their tanks and planes. Then i got 4 of these and was like....rub their chest. Sounds like a load of fun. The song got me hooked.

  • shit i'd forgotten about these toys, I clicked this link by accident what a surprise, I never knew what they were I just had one with the hologram I was like, I wonder what this guy is?

  • these guys pissed away an episode of transformers

  • I remember when I was a kid, and I saw this commercial, and I just thought, "How the hell does wood beat water?" :-p

  • @ShawnRavenfire, it just does. ;)

  • @ShawnRavenfire, LOL, that's what I ask myself still this day.

  • The announcer for the “Battle Beasts” ads is none other than Alan Oppenheimer (aka Skeletor from “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe”).

  • 84 of these fuckers? It's like Pokemon, but drained of any kind of strategy or role-playing element.

  • my brother and I had like 4 of these things put together. Also I played with them in the water a lot and they lost their battle badges.

  • im....confused

  • There were 84 of those things? I had exactly two haha. I can't remember the elements I had since I was pretty young.

  • I still have a few of these, but forgot what they were called and had been trying to ID them for years now. Everyone kept telling me they were "Visionaries" whenever I'd describe the hologram chest plates. But glad to finally know what they're really called.

  • "I got fire."

"I got water. Water beats fire."

Funny thing is this sales pitch would have totally worked on me when I was a kid.

  • wood beet speech impedeement...probably *starts crying*

  • i had huge collection. and i miss those little guys.

  • Wait, how does wood beat water again? LOL

  • these things were the shit until they brought out the multi element ones then things got a bit out of hand.

  • How Can I Buy One Online?

  • @Animalia534 @ebay search hasbro battle beasts

  • These guys were a wierd toy line. They were fun at times, but a whole toy line based on "rock paper scissors" doesn't have a long life in terms of playability

  • LOL, wtf.. lmfao

  • i tried so hard to get all 84 but the stores near me kept getting the same group in, and my parents kept buying me the same set, so i made armies or sharks and moose lol

  • For some reason I made the rhino the general and I made the cat and mouse into the main heroic duo and the elephant was their muscle.

I never played the water>fire>wood>water game tho.

  • Que espectacular recuerdo ...

    ¡Madera! fuego quema madera...

    ¡Fuego! agua apaga el fuego...

    ¡Agua! madera bloquea el agua...

    y juntos son un cachanflón ! ! !

  • Water, fire, and ...wood?

    Seriously?

  • @Karlfalcon You left out the all-trumping Sunburst, the rarest of the four.

  • i only got a few as a kid so I back tracked as an adult and have all of them now. never too late for a happy childhood.

  • how does wood beat water?

  • When I drop a log in the toilet water splashes everywhere, so that's how I know.

  • @compositsketch physics....just kidding i have no idea

  • NEW BATTLE BEASTS introduced at TOY FAIR 2010! Based on Minimate bodies!

  • Its RPS with Marketing.

  • I still have all mine.

  • These look BADASS.

  • I loved to switch the arms around. You know, the guys that had the built in weapon arm. Double that up and you got yourself a real battle beast! Plus, the dog kept eating the loose weapons....

  • water beats fire... now i know... and knowing is half the battle

  • when i was a kid, here in Panama, this toy was populat (before 1989)...now that I can...i dont see it in no place!!

  • I use to get these at KB toys all the time! The had a whole end cap full of these and the chariots. A very clever and practical toy line, One of my faves!

  • I had a ton of these things when I was little. I loved em. however I couldn't remember what they were called for the longest time! then those Gormidi toys came out earlier this year and I was like "hey those are kind of like those toys I had a long time ago" and thats when I realised I had forgotten what they were called. then I found out they are pseudo related to the transformers and I made the connection

  • i loved theese things aswell ,there were special ones like the "pirate lion" you see in the vid.i sent away for a poster it took a few weeks to come of course and it had a picture of every battle beast

  • I found a toy like that long time ago, it was the blue armored guy...I thought it was some "no brand" toy.

  • So these are the infamous Transformer spin offs from Takara. Cool commercial.

  • Wow... I'm seriously flashing back here. I loved these things! :D

Weird how you can remember almost everything when it comes to your favorite childhood shows and toys, except what the damn things were called! Thanks for posting this!

  • Rock, Paper, Scissors in monster form.

  • if you research these there weren't actually 84, there were only 70 something of them, including the sun fire ones.

  • No, there were actually a lot more than 84. Plus, there were the vehicles, playsets, poster, and role-play toys.

  • Wait... the Battle Beast wearing blue had water, and the one wearing red had fire? Something is off about that.

  • i thought the exact same...that's fucking weird.

  • HOLY FUCKING SHIT, THAT'S FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!111oneone

  • lol COLLECT ALL 84!

  • I had seriously like 200 of these things when I was little. I had 4 or 5 of the same kind. Remember they used to come in packages with their arms up??? lol. One of my friends mothers who was jealous that I had so many told me that their was a secret battle beast that had a STAR for the symbol. I looked for it for years and never found it. Damn bitch. Thats how I ended up with like 200.remember their vehicles. The Ram Tiger and Dear?Their battle stations the Shark?Still got it in parents basement

  • the logo she was talking about was the sunburst. it was very rare and was added later and beat any element!! COOL.

  • @BILLBERRY1000 wow your friend's mom sounds like a bitch lol. i think I probably had a dozen or so, some cat vehicle, and a couple of "life sized" plastic weapons.

i think around 13ish I felt like i was too grown up for my toys and got rid of pretty much all of my old cool toys, of course today I kick myself in the ass for that.

  • Its funny most people have no idea that these guys are part of the transformers toyline in japan. meaning , these guys are technically Transformers toys.

  • Lol! Awesome!! I totally loved these things as a kid!

    "Watah put out Fiyah! :)

Fun stuff! Thanks for posting this!

  • these were one of my all-time favourite toys as a kid. you know, before i became this fat 26 year old day dreaming of his boyhood to strangers online. oh god.

  • i feel yah... 29...

  • Come on folks, wood totally beats water. It floats in water right. If water had its way it would drown that wood, but it floats. Well, if they had wind, wood can beat wind, stand strong against it. Wind could beat water. The ocean can't stop the wind from blowing.

  • Hey I'm making custom made Battle Beast toys from scratch that are 4" tall with heat sensitive rub signs and 14 points of articulation would anyone on here be interested in revamped Battle Beasts? If so what characters would you like to see first?

  • How are you making them? Are you making molds?

  • Yes I would be making molds from custom sculpts! Ball jointed p.o.a. and extreme detail while keeping the 80's feel, it's gunna be sweet!

  • Wood can't beat water...wood gets water logged lol...WATER BEATS EVERYTHING!

Seriously these guys were AWESOME! They fit perfectly into GI JOE vehicles. These guys attacked the Joe's and Cobra with extreme prejudice forcing JOE to form an alliance with COBRA to defeat them. They came close, but the ARMY ANTS came into the picture and JOE and COBRA were defeated. (that's how it played out at m y house anyway). YES!

  • @element1108 LMAO!!!!! hahahaha i did the same shit!!!! battle beasts were my favorite toys when i was a kid! i always eventually lost the hologram thing tho. my shark was fire for some reason. never understood why he wasn't water

  • @element1108 Red burn wood, Water put out fire, wood float on water.

Just like paper cover rock, Scissor cut paper, and Rock smash scissor

  • @Neoguest it is, but in actuality wood in water long enough will swamp and fall apart ;). This my logic as a child I did favor water, still do. ;)

Water is the ultimate element. Powerrrrrrrrr

  • @element1108 Wood actually needs water to live (like any plant) so water would actually help wood, but yeah too much water though would be bad, but it's not bad at first as water id vital to keeping wood alive. But yeah like Neoquest said, this is based on rock, paper, scissors. Each element has a strength and a weakness.

  • @David315842 hehe, it's funny cause as a kid water was always my favorite and I thought about it too much...just kept that 23 year old logic alive ;)

    Bring battle beasts back!

  • @element1108 Or in Japan; Beastformers. In Japan, these guys were supposed to be related to Transformers, since they appear on an episode of the Headmasters anime series. :) As for them coming back well they didn't have a cartoon show, I don't even know if they had a comic, but the toys themselves were popular enough, so I guess it's a possibility.

  • @David315842

I remember buying a comic of them in the UK. I'm pretty sure it was them like.

  • @GlamMan3000 If that's so then it's true.

  • @element1108 ARMY ANTS hell yeah, i forgot about those, i had like 30 of them

  • @element1108 That's actually a million times better than the plot of GI Joe: Rise of Cobra. So congrats, 8 year old version of you.

  • @element1108 wood suck water lol

  • I just came across a couple of these guys while looking through my old toys to find something to give to my nephew. I couldnt remember the name of them for the life of me.

  • "Fire beats wood."

    Get that. Wood burns.

    "Water beats fire."

Get that also. Water puts out fire.

    "Wood beats water."

    ... WHAT.

  • WOW I FORgot ABOUT THOSE lol I HAD ALOT OF THEM!

  • I wonder if the cool rockers that recorded the battle beasts song in the studio got some 80's battle beasts song making pussy!? now that's something to brag about!! Why do I see mullets on those guys?? why??

cool battle beast song makin' mullet guy.. lol you know he graduated from some legit music school!! okay , I'll stop

  • The ultimate game of Rock-Paper-Scissors.

  • the bat was my fav next to the shark

  • WATAH! WOOD! Wood beats water! LOL!

  • WATAH! FIRE! WATER BEATS FIRE!

  • i like the figs but the voices for this tv ad were gay

  • Sniff sniff, im tearing up here. The Elephant was my favourite :)

  • omg. i loved these toys!!! the 80's were awsome ... i wonder if they are worth money??? since there classic??? anybody kno??????

  • you can buy them off ebay for like £3 each, but imagine of they were still in there perfect box and you had all of them

  • I was such a tomboy... oh wait! I still am lol. I had the black panther one.... wish I knew where it was :(

  • how does wood beat water?

  • You can make dams with it. XD

  • Wood floats on water. It's kind of rediculous in the same way paper beats rock.

  • Good question. Beaver dam maybe?

  • Those toys look loke they kicked azz in the 80's

  • I have my Battle Beasts on my desk at work!!! (I'm such a nerd)

  • When I was a kid I thought I was the ish because I had all the ones in the animated sequence in the commercial LOL.

  • starfish and hippo were my dudes. and that elk looking one.

  • oh no way. battle beasts!

  • That Giraffe was one bad dude!

  • Only problem with the beast were their little fire, water, wood emblems coming off when you'd try to rub them. Cheap stickers. Gosh I miss em though!!! :)

  • How can wood beat water? Doesn't water make wood weak?

  • BATTLE BEAST!!!

  • -My favorite was the Porcupine.

  • Why do they sound like they have Chinese accents?

  • I remember those, but they were monochrome in my country. Does this make sense to you?

  • Yay! Gargantuan Gorilla beat the other guy! I wish they had made a cartoon out of those toys; it would've ROCKED!!

  • These were some of my favorite toys when I was a kid. I had a bunch of these things, then my mom gave them away to some poor kids :(.

  • Aww, yeah I lost a bunch of my cool toys too during a move.

Well at least your Battle Beasts made some less fortunate kids a bit happier. ;3
