Thank you for your kind words, Jill. I would encourage you to make some videos of your poetry. I get a lot of nice comments from the few I have done, even the darker ones from the time when my son passed. I'm glad Danni shared my poem with her friends. Thanks for watching.
Hi Danni, thanks for sharing my poem with your friends. It's out here to share! Glad to see a lot of your friends are Pagan and Wiccan. I met my husband WAY back in 1995 in the IRC chatroom, Wicca! He and I were handfasted in 1997. Blessed be!
i too was handfasted back in 2006 we're thinking of renewing our vows perhaps up i scottland.. my mothers home land.. ive never been and that seems a crime to me so i must make good..lol.. btw a friend of mine called smith haha no joke wants to know if that poem has ever been published haha the silly thought id written it ..wish i had but if it hasnt been published, consider it, he works for a news paper so he may be able to help you there
Ahh, renewing your vows in Scotland, what a dream come true. We have always wanted to travel to Scotland. My husband, Rafe, (TimberGeek on YouTube) has a Scottish/English heritage and we've talked about visiting a lot. It will have to wait until we can gather some money together, which in this economy looks rather bleak! No, my poem has never been published. None of them have. I'm not opposed to the idea, just never pursued it. Until I posted it on YouTube only a handful of people had heard it.
Oh my - This is BEAUTIFUL!!!! I see now why my poem reminded you of this...we have similarities in our writing. :) I just love your imagery and inspiring messages in here...it is magical. Inner tears from the opener are the keys to the 'little pink box' also! Amazing! I love it!! A definite add to fav's!! xxoo
This was absolutely beautiful to me. I live in the south and never see much snow so this video footage was perfect. Your poetry is soothing and very well written. I would give 100 stars if youtube would allow it. Dolores
Thank you Dolores, what a sweet thing to say. I can't imagine life without snow, but I dream of it! What a long winter it's been already. Maybe we can make SouthTube this year!
That is a wonderful poem. You have much talent as a poet, but also in your recital. The video was splendid, though I'm sure you would have preferred something slightly different.
Thank you, tooomp! I somehow neglected to comment on your comment and that so isn't like me. I hope you forgive me and come back often to check out my vids. You never know what I may post next! LOL
Thank, Ruthie! Glad you liked it! I love contests, challenges and 20 question type vids (I miss my Twish *sniff*) and thanks for putting one out there for me to respond to!
(I meant to do this as a direct response to you...LOL...deja vu, here you go) Thanks, Ruthie! Glad you liked it! I love contests, challenges and 20 question type vids (I miss my Twish *sniff*) and thanks for putting one out there for me to respond to!
Thanks, John, I'm really enjoying making these vids and bringing my poetry to others. I have had some of these for so long and they have only been shared with a few friends and family. So many more people can here them now. I hope people like them. Thanks for your kind words!
Ravensky this went together very well. No need to change a thing. I think that simple things bring out the best in your words. Love it favourited it. And you read it so well too. I am in awe.
Your words painted such a vivid picture in my mind. It was as if I could see the box, the prince, the garden and the girl so clearly. I wish I could make a drawing of it. Wouldn't it be neat if one the artist on YouTube could make a painting to go with your poem?
That would be fantastic. I would love a collaboration like that sometime. I'm a fiber artist, and my work tends to be more textual. I've always wanted to do a woven or embroideried tapestry of it. Like how someone from that time would honor the miracle of the prince's metamorphosis. But that wouldn't really lend itself to the YouTube format very well. Of course the problem has always been finding the time!
Absolutely beautiful writing.

This made me think of fairy tales I read when young.
phaedress 4 years ago
I'm a big fairy-tale fan so undoubtedly parallels can be drawn.
However, it also has a touch of the "oldie" 60's song, "Laurie (Strange Things Happen in This World)". ;-)

quite right.

I could never stir the troops, but I might make them long for home and take out their best girl's photo and shed a tear.
And then I could read them my poems...
HAHAHAHA
