  • evemt riders do sometimes take out a stride - this probs wasnt planned tho :L well sat, she made it look planned! so smooth!

  • Seems like she almost falls off more than anyone.

  • no offence haha ur all like one of the best riders HAHAHA she IS the BEST she can get on any horse and ride it..not just sit on it and make it look pretty she actually rides it..she can take any horse and ride it 100%

  • omg

  • umm does anyone else notice how shes behind the movement and yanks on his face as he goes over the jumps how can this person be a professional ?? so confused

  • @pinksparkles162 this is how eventing riders ride... where have you been? she is NOT yanking on the horse's mouth. eventing riders sit back a little more than hunter jumper and eq riders. as the horse jumps she is letting the reins slip through her fingers

  • @pinksparkles162 You know, Mary King is one of the best riders in the world. She is 50 years old and is still WINNING 3* events like Badminton and Burghley. She will most likely be representing Britain in the 2012 Olympics. Unless you have a similar record of achievements, I really don't think you're in a position to criticise her riding. This is how event riders ride.

  • @pinksparkles162 im trained by piggy frenchs sister and her mother and all eventers have to sit back in corss country other wise you would be completely out of balance.... and basically fall off at nothing! having the shoulders behind your hips is 1) a signal to the horse to slow down and come back to you and 2)put you in a secure position. its not behind the movement at all its the horse a little over excited and mary king sitting back to slow the horse..... so dont criticise until you learn!!!

  • @pinksparkles162 well tecknicaly if u make a sertan amount of money on horses per year u are considered a professional. I know a lady that has like 3 years of riding experience but she runs a bording farm so she rides with pros at the shows. (shes ben riding 3 years but she's not all that good cuz shes ben riding off and on for 3 years. only about 2 years experiecne)

  • @pinksparkles162 Actually not once did she yank on the horses "face" as you put it in this video. If you look carefully you would see that she lets the reins slip through her fingers and naturally rides with long reins so she's prepared for situations like this.

  • wow that was a close 1 !!

  • MARY THE KING OF EVENTING YAY 4 MARY KING!!!!

  • Fark, she's amazing. What a seat. She just knows how to sit behind the movement enough to stay on while not interfering with his movement and jump. Love ya Mary!!

  • brave horse

  • i dont see why people are critizing! Mary is an AMAZING rider and she has also broken in plenty of horses herself and they had exceeded to this level of eventing! i have been riding for 9 years, and still only at pre-novice/novice level, Yes depends on the horses aswell and their ability, but as i was saying mary is an amazing rider and she has the best seat known when things go wrong like that! x

  • Not really:L anyone who can sit properly can stay on!!:/!

  • amazing horse and rider!

  • @LetsFlyOnceMore Too be perfectly honest, anyone can break in a horse who knows how properly. I have got several friends who've done it. And you can do that after 4 years? I highly doubt that. Just saying love that you need to think of the world of horses abit better and before you say oh you don't know anything about horses, I've been riding for 12 years and I've got 2 friends at international pony eventing x

  • That shows all riders that....well.....some horses love to jump(:

  • noone should crit this beautiful rider unless they are more experienced than her - and i highly doubt some youtuber will be.

  • I would've flown of by her lucky jump XD

That really was a miracle :')

(I've never heard of Mary King, though.. I only know a few Dutch riders at high level, sorry xD)

  • She is amazing rider but she is just human she made a mistake there but horse was so amazing to jump that, well sat anyway, but the horse did great job here not her she was just lucky. She is one of the best admire her

  • She is a total idol of mine - and this shows why!!!!!

  • a better description would be.

look how incredible that horse is taking of like 3strides early, at the second fence and clearing it and the final line!

  • one word SKILL! haha luv it!

  • Now, I've been a fan of Mary King's since I was a little tacker (and so was Mary!), but I have been wondering if she's actually won any 3* or 4* in the past few years? She's always featured in coverage, but she never seems to make it to the podium and I feel bad for her. Especially after that horrific 'Speed Eventing' debacle.

  • Wow, close call.

  • WOW, amazing!!! I want that horse. lol.

  • woah! goo mary king!!

  • oh wow

i saw those pics in a book of mine xD

  • wow! very athletic horse! she helped him alot with her position too! kewl!

  • could i please use this clip?? :)

  • well far off!!

  • i hate it when they put there hand in the air why do they do that i hate it!

  • they do it for balance.

  • its a XC pose called 'hailing the cab'

its very easy to balance like that

  • old school, very true. love it.

  • @tedoloverbaby its called hailing the cab they dont for balence and most of the time they cant help it

  • its not a miracle, its mary king!!! i swear her and william fox pitt can get through jsut about anything lol

  • agreed :P

  • @jen4dougie4eva no its not a mircal and who cares that its mary king..... i've neer heard of her but its just skill every rider shouldbe able to do this after about 4 years of riding

  • @LetsFlyOnceMore after about 4 years of riding i'd like to see you do the tracks that she does and save the situations that she's been in. And you should look her up first before saying that she doesnt have any skill

  • @LetsFlyOnceMore LMAO im not saying she doesn't have any skill i actualy said the complete oposite and also i have done things harder than that .. heck i brake in ,train and compete horses what will not stop and dnt have any controll. i ride horses what no-one else wants to ride because there " dangous* and "uncontrollable" but really all they need is a friend

  • @LetsFlyOnceMore Haha yeah right!! Seen the size of the fences? there all at 120/125 cm! thats 4ft/4ft 3 ish! I'd like to see most people ride around that!! And it's easy to break in a horse you need to put a saddle and bridal on, then chuck a person on them. The skill is in getting them going correctly, but often this is not the case.

  • @JessieLouiseWood yeah and? also its not that easy .... breaking in horses is a delicate process because you can teach them bad thing or make them afraid of the saddle its a delicate process what should not be done by ammtures because when ammtures do it they ruin the horse.....

  • M-I-R-A-C-L-E

  • & max aka cashel bay does that all the time :)

  • My bff's mum has that horse now :)

  • wow i thought the horse would have taken advantage of that and go crazy, buck the rider off! Very comfortable pony!

  • Why would it do that?

  • im just applying that some horses are a lot less comfortable with a person in that position, and that they could possibly freak out. I'm only saying this because i expected the horse to freak out, but i was impressed that it didn't, because i was raised around very spazzy horses

  • Ok lol jw, just seemed an odd comment at the time, get your point, there could have been an oppertunity for him, but horses at these levels tend to be used to these situations lol x :) fair point

  • k cool, wana b frends? =D

  • Comment removed

  • wowza! thats pure stamana(sp?) right there!

  • are you soposed to lan that far bakc before a jump?

    what an amazing animal

  • when your horse takes that kind of spot, it doesn't really matter, just be happy you're not dead or dying. Technically no though

  • its just because the horse took off so far

  • well, those were some akward takeoff spots no weren't they? :) haha. nice riding though.

  • is this Cavvi or Cashel Bay?

if it's cavvi please may i use it in a Cavvi memorial tribute.. i will give all credit..

    thanks x

  • it's cashel bay

  • what happend to cawi

  • That horse looks comfortable!

  • just goes to show how talented those horses are

  • shes great :D

  • It's much better that she slips her reins than gives her horse a great jab in the mouth in a situation like that. It's hardly incompetence.

  • i dont think anyone on here is critizing mary they are just stateing what happened and that it's a mircle she made it this shows how gd a rider she is!

  • yup.

  • @HelsBels2006 its not a miracle anyone who was hanging on properly wouldof been able to sit that

  • i dont think ANYONE on here has a rite to criticise mary king! shes like one of the best riders around!

  • WOW That Was Well SAT!

  • i work with that horse. its not naughty. and the person who sed she loses her reins it for a gd reason that horse is bloddy strong

  • i dont think you can call a horse naughty for getting the wrong stride into a fence! fantastic horse!

  • she has i thing for loosing her rains she did in in burghly and retired

  • at burghley she sed the reins kept slipping through her gloves cuz they were slippy

  • naughty?! great horse for making it! he is experienced and no's what he's doing!

  • well sat!! gd horse lol

  • blooooody hell
