@goodvocalcover lol I thought you would've said CoB's a power metal band, makes much more sense than thrash :p People think they're a melodeath band because of the overall aggressity of the music/vocals (which are reminiscent of death metal), but at the same time, it's very melodic and upbeat, thus melodeath. Thrash is really different, go listen to Exodus' Bonded by Blood if you want a perfect example :p

OMG. I don`t feel like getting into details but really? I mean, Alexi uses harsh vocals that are easily understandable. Most Death Metal bands have real grawls, some guttural some not but still growls. I have yet to hear a Norwegian black metal band or any black metal band that uses CoB kind of vocals. They mostly use some sort of screaks.

Yes, I listened to Wintersun some time ago, good band. Jari does use harsh vocals that are very similar to Alexi`s, but Wintersun is a really melodic band with tons of clean vocals so I wouldn`t say its a tipical death metal band (neither is CoB) like, lets give the most common example, Cannibal Corpse. Basically I don`t like CoB harsh vocals and I have met quite a few people that feel the same way. So whatever you know, its a matter of taste.
