@alexthemod1: Yes it is much less gainfull than other Rats. More high end and less noise though. However, it makes a great platform for chip-modding. I pulled the chip out of mine and replaced it with an LM308. This is the same chip as the sought after mid-80s Rats. I have one of those and tested them side by side. The modded Turbo was louder, less noisy and less compressed, but just a thick. It had a more natural sound and way more high end.
@alexthemod1: The LM308 opamp is no longer made (AFAIK), but available for $5-10USD on ebay. I took mine out of an old Peavy amp a friend gutted so he could build a Fender clone in the cab. I recommend replacing the original chip with a ZIF socket, so you can plug in different chips and get different tones.
The guy has bought the pedal, put his own time and effort into making a video and uploading it to youtube, so that you can hear what the pedal sounds like. If the genre of music he's playing doesn't help you decide if the pedal is right for you, then that's your problem. It's not like you paid anything. Jesus, some people.
the thing is i think its more of a general comment, on nearly every pedal demo its just someone (mind you this guy is okay for this sort of thing) thrashing playing solos, in my view, just showing off, everyone does it. its not like people will invest in these pedals on the basis of using them just for solos, though i know some people will do that. its silly.
At least this guy isn't the Tone King. That guy is a fuckin' abomination and why people support him or his demos (including amp websites), is beyond me. He's the WORST guy to do any kind of demo because he makes everything sound like ass. Whatever happened to real demos on the websites??? I don't like where its going man, user videos are way too one sided.
there's a filter knob by the way

this peal seems to have less gain than the normal proco rat? does the turbo just mean the gain is pushed further?

Ok. So, after 7:34 mins of solos and bluesy stuffs, would you let us know how this pedal could work on the remaining 99% music styles?

Listen to 0:59 ... Doesn't that remind you "Won't Get Fooled Again"? I think it's pretty similar... Same chord (A) and very similar sound.

Sounds great clean and with the turbo rat.
