Well, it'd be difficult to explain without knowing how much you know about music theory. I'd assume you know at least the very basics. It spans six semitones (or half-steps), so to hear a tritone, play c-f#/c#-g/d-a#/etc. Anyway, the melody of this has a lot of these intervals in it, and these intervals are famous for discomfort and dissonance.
