Dont all diss him or say I can do it in five minutes, do a video journal of your journey like this guy did, upload it, shows us all and then you can talk.
I have to chuckle, walking up pen-y-fan should not be classed as anything more than a vigourous walk, most people i see up there are clueless and a good percentage of those people are 1 day explorers from the suburbs.who have almost no experience of the countryside.I think society is going mad at the moment,a fit tough experienced outdoor man could run up and back before you city dwellers can get halfway up! Moan over.
people die on snowdon every year penny fan a poofy little mountain. and i say that for a reason:- you make my shins hurt penny you piss me off cos my sleeves wet and now i cant see my mates cos they half way up and the fog rolling in plus i got no sleep and they did and now they shouting down to me well i tired of them like i tired of you i'm cold and my sleeves are wet. fck u all i just gonna wander off somewhere over here no one see me in this fog - i just wanna have a bit of kip.....
Things can turn seriously nasty up in the beacons within minutes.. i got caught out up there one jan. lovely place in the summer tho. just not when your up to your waist in snow getting blown all over the top lol..
@cheechwizzard101 I live about 10 mins away form the beacons and the first time i climbed pen y fan was when i was 6, it wasnt hard either, it is more of a vigorous walk. i agree that anywhere in the beacons turn deadly if your a fool! but thr music is abit dramatic i can get up there in 30 mins:D
@123macquade123 The situation hard for MOST of the people is that i wasn`t living there,i walked all the way from Lisbon(or Lisabon-i always mix the name) side which my tent was near. I carried almost 10kg equipment(rain-survival gear and some emergency food) with me at all times and the mate up at the summit even asked me `where i parked my car` and was very surprised to my answer. Try as i did and if you it in 30minutes-even without a bag-,i will give you anything you ask. :)
@halfmumi well mate i awfully sorry but i just cant see how that walk id supposed to be hard, have a look at this and this is the walk i complete and thats with a small daypack-type in to google maps click get directions and type in 'trefil rugby welfare club' and 'pen y fan, brecon beacons' , the trip is about 21 miles and camp at the bottom of pen y fan after i get to the top and com back down and walk back in the morning.
@123macquade123 it's all fine.Expedition and "speed" stuff is totally different things. :) "Discovery" and "Adventure" soul starts when you step into "unknown". That is what i did, nothing except 3 GPS point coordinates. I Even crawled under the fences and walked on few people's land because i couldnt find a way.Imagine. (= Well, that is a very nice performance mate, Keep up the climbs! Especially solo's. (=
It has been a year but still i dont have time to add subtitles.I know, without translation, video should look hard to understand. =) Will add subtitles soon(hopefully).
Tebrik ederim. Başından sonuna kadar sıkılmadan izledim. Hazırladığınız video sayesinde izleyipte inşallah bende yapacağım diye bir çok kişinin içinden geçirdiğine eminim. Umarım bizlerde sizin gibi bu zevkleri tadarız. Uzun başarılı spor dolu bir hayat dilerim.

Correction: `Libanus` is the name of the place.4.4kms in the shortest distance, which is not possible because of PLs- Farms etc..
