  • another looser making reviews with pictures!!! DUDE get real thing!!!

  • netbook for me. Can't quite understand how the tablet craze began. To each their own I guess.

  • i would rather buy a tablet or netbook, but more likely a tablet cause now they're starting 2 come down 2 compete with expensive Apple tablets & smartphns. i will not $ a smartphn. they still don't offer WiFi prepaid options, just 3g "pay as u go," & even the prepaid option(if u want 2 avoid 2 year contracts, which many people can't afford) is expensive. plus, there aren't many prepaid phones with at least a 4 inch display(big bumber) & optional ethernet adapter in case wifi or 3g signals fail

  • Nice! I do think tablets have their place though - just throw in a capacitive touch screen together with my keyboard and Win 7 (or maybe the soon to be released Win 8) and I'd be set!

  • Wii U!

  • thanx man , nice video, now whos wining this tablets war? i need to get the best one of them, thanx again for the infos

  • Tablets will devour netbooks. Totally crushing them and removing them from history. Why? Tablet OS designed specifically for small screens from ground up. Applications designed specifically for small screens. Web browsing experience superior to Netbooks. Form factor lighter. Solid state drives means more reliable data storage when throwing around your device. superior chips and SSD's mean no(very minimum) heat, therefore no fan noise, absolute silence. Yes the Tablet will clobber the netbook.

  • Tablets won't be taking over netbooks anytime soon. Tablets still cannot out perform netbooks in terms of specs and keyboard.

  • @youwinmagic umm u might need to check your info there buddy

  • Definitely looking forward to E3 this year

  • There is always some exception, but by and large the netbook will be replaced by the tablet as Apple predicted at the launch of the original iPad. Much more serene and efficient way of surfing the web, checking email, jotting down notes, doing light productivity etc. Not to mention the hardware: thinner, lighter, longer battery life.. It is a no brainer.

  • Only tech questions?

  • No they can not and as tablets get more powerful they will eat into notebook sales. 15 years from now will we all use tablets instead of laptops because they will be as powerful as a good notebooks. Anyone who thinks they will not be are just kidding them selfs.

  • I wholeheartedly agree with you about the touch screen of tablets beating notebooks hands down for web surfing, however are no match to netbooks for typing, and power. I still think there is a need for netbooks for traveling professionals, who need something light and productive for traveling. Tablets are not productive for content creation, and a laptop is much to heavy & bulky.

  • I think net-books will most definitely survive the tablet revolution, as it will always be ideal for business users who travel a lot for meetings, reporters etc. That being said, net-books will never regain previously lost revenue.

  • sad to say im using a netbook right now

  • @WhatThePresidentSays haha I'm also using a netbook right now

  • Very good way of advertising your website, indeed. I'm probably going for full fledged laptops, and neither netbooks nor tablets anytime soon, as htey simply don't suit my needs. Also, as for thIe Wii, I don't think Nintendo will survive this war, but I do like the DS series. However, i highly disapprove Nintendo's idea of going 3D, and this will just make my DS cheaper, hence maybe I can buy one, soon. :D

  • I'm thinkin of upgrading my 2011 13" MacBook Pro's RAM to 8GB, will more RAM memory reduce the battery life?

  • is it true a new xbox is coming out this year

  • I believe that the netbooks will just evolve into tablets with fold away keyboards, and the os market is already preparing for that, with win 8 being designed to be touch friendly, more than 7, of course.

  • is it possible to change the wallpaper on a mac? I mean, every single mac user just get stuck on that wall -.- (trolling mode, I know..) even my sister wtf

  • @TheBestFagEver Shit you're right. I haven't changed mine since I got it.

  • @TheBestFagEver Yeah you can change it...and you can even make it switch to different wallpapers every few sconds, minutes, hours or days or whatever. I have a whole collection of cool wallpapers and it changes the wallpaper every 5 minutes.

  • Im stickin with Apple :)

  • netbooks will survive as people just dont have the extra money to get a tablet for $700+

  • If prices on tablets keep dropping, netbooks are going to have a very tough time...

  • DO NOT GET AN ACER ASPIRE ONE! I got one before and it was the worst computer I've ever used.

  • Is ACER paying you for this video ? Acer are known for cheaply built laptop so I wouldn't trust ACER for a tablet. Why is the ASUS 10" transformer not mentioned? ASUS tablet is up par with Ipad 2 for only $400 and on add-on keyboard w/usb for $150 more.

  • check this out pltrp(.)com Please! Thank you!

  • Cool bro looking forward to your ask Dave videos, heading over to computingforever now

  • Tech news from the Tuesday the 26th on Monday the 25th? You're seeing the future now, lol!

    

    Tim

  • Im sorry to be a troll ... but ... ITS NOT A WII 2! IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WII! YES IT IS SUPPOSEDLY REVERSE COMPATIBLE BUT SO WAS THE WII TO THE GAMECUBE! THE PROJECT NAME IS 'PROJECT CAFE' AND THE RUMORED NAME IS 'STREAM'!

(again soz for trolling but get your facts straight!)

  • You're like the "People's reviewer, because you have the mid range products most of us actually use" and that's a good thing. Check out my channel and thanks.

  • I believe netbooks will be overtaken by smaller notebooks and tablets. Notebooks used to be 13" and up but now with the Macbook Air and Samsung 9 series come in 11" models which is the smallet screen I would ever make do with for computing on anyway. There's a guy in my classes with a 7" netbook and it's just gross. So small you can't even fully view a word document on it. It's just the most terrible thing I've ever seen done to a computer, I really hope netbooks like that die.

  • Ooo I like the Acer Tablet :D

  • Aww yeah the 100th view

  • Can someone answer this question to me, I simply don't understand... What is the damn point in netbooks or tablets? What is the point in a device (tablet) that bridges the gap (between laptops and smartphones) that never actually existed?!

Consumerism! Gotta milk some more money from them wallets! You'll be better off donating those $500 to someone who really needs it.

  • @Tr1pTr0p Well, netbooks are literally underpowered, tiny (sometimes so small they're barely usable) laptops that can't really do anything all that well due to said lack of power. Tablets are (if done properly) more for doing the kind of tasks you'd get a netbook for, but they do it better because the performance is better, and the software is more customised for those kind of tasks to begin with, rather than being a full desktop OS on a tiny screen on a machine that can't run it properly.

  • @TalesOfWar Netbooks are more than powerful enough to do everything a tablet does. If you plug your mouse in a netbook, you got yourself a real portable personal computer. Literally; a personal computer running Windows.

Now you might argue that Windows takes a long time to boot up and that its generally slower than tablets, which is true, but I think that the power or "magic" of Windows itself is enough to compensate. Plus, comparing Windows and iOS/Android is simply ridiculous.

  • Yes netbooks can. I don't see $300 tablets that can do all that a netbook can. Netbooks can run Windows apps which is a pretty big thing in my opinion. There are just things that tablets can't do.

  • @cusinndzl

    But they will.

  • @BrokenBjartur Yes but as tablets get better netbooks will get better. Companies haven't just quit on netbooks. If you look at desktop computers you might call them old compared to laptops, but companies still make great desktops.

  • @cusinndzl

There is a difference. The appeal desktops have is they are always more powerful, and easier to upgrade. What makes netbooks appealing is the exact same thing that makes tablets appealing; They're portable. Not sure if netbooks will ever stop being a desired form factor, but tablets will, and already are, replacing much of what makes netbooks appealing. In a couple of years when you can get elegant stands and plug keyboard and mice in, tablets will be a no-brainer.

  • @cusinndzl Technically they can run everything Windows can, but running them well is a totally different matter all together. Many of my friends own netbooks, and doing things as simple as surfing the web or using Word are just so clunky and slow, especially when you hit pages heavy in java and/or Flash (like Facebook, which is what most people who buy them will be primarily using them for to be honest). They're just annoying to use. On a comical note. My MBP is thinner and as light as most lol.

  • @TalesOfWar Netbooks have been getting better. You can get dual core ones with Ion 2 graphics, and with that they can do a lot of the basic things fairly well.

  • Lol

  • Should I buy a gaming pc or stick with consoles?

  • @XC0MB4TXEV0LV3D Console probably have greater longevity over pc gaming rigs nowadays with more games developed for them. on the other hand you can continue to upgrade your pc. nevertheless a powerful gaming pc will cost much more to buy or build than a console. its a tricky one to answer. hardcore gamers usually make use of both systems to have the best of both worlds. whatever works for you.

  • @LACK78 Thanks, I really enjoy gaming so I will proberly get a full gaming desktop in the near future to back up my consoles. Plus all the games from yester year are still avalable on the pc platform which to me is an amazing selling point.

  • @LACK78

I actually think the opposite. consoles are ,imo, pretty unpredictable compared to pcs. When there is something wrong with a pc, it is pretty easy to diagnose, whereas consoles are hard (at least harder) to fix. The upside for consoles is that all games for the console works perfectly fine whereas pc games depend on graphic cards, ram, and cpu for gaming performance. I personally prefer a pc over a console just because it is easier to maneuver around in the game than a console.

  • @XC0MB4TXEV0LV3D I'd go with consoles. They're much cheaper than having to upgrade your computer every year to play the latest games.

  • @XC0MB4TXEV0LV3D I am wondering the same thing. I got a Xbox 360 in Janruary and I used to have a gaming desktop. I recommend getting both if you can manage but if you have to choose just one, go with a console if you have a lot of friends with consoles so you can play together. Or get a pc and play online if you don't have any friends lol.

  • @doomtomb3 Yeah man come to think of it the cross platform between all the windows games overs the years seems really cool, being able to play the original Halo CE and crysis 2 at max settings.

  • @XC0MB4TXEV0LV3D Remember that with a Gaming PC you can play some games like civilization, Shogun 2 Total war etc. You also get modding capabilities in games like dragon age and fallout.

My setup is X360 for all shooters, multiplayer games and console specific releases and a gaming tower for everything else.

The main disadvantage to a PC is the price, however it does mean you get better graphics and 1080p output.

  • @XC0MB4TXEV0LV3D

PC gamer here. If you enjoy graphics and have monney to spend PC. If you prefer the exclusives that consoles bring, and have more friends on xbox 360 or whatever get one of them.

I built my own high end gaming PC, if you aren't going to build it yourself don't even bother, if you have little technical knowledge don't bother with PC either.

I will probably get a PS3 too for some exclusive, gran turismo, FFXIII, GOW etc.

  • @XC0MB4TXEV0LV3D (cont.) Consoles do run you cheaper, but, at least from my experience, tend to provide you with a more aggravating and less polished experience online and with friends. Steam chat is a great feature that works on all games, even non steam ones and can be accessed much quicker than your friends list on PS3 or X-Box 360.

Really it comes down to what games and gaming experience you want. So choose what's best for you and what suits your budget.

  • With the Acer at $450 and the upcoming ASUS at $399 I wonder if these guys starting price wars are making any money at all? And if they are, how come the Xoom can't be priced lower?

  • @gxcad They're doing the old PC market thing. Price it low and hope to sell in volume. PC OEM's do badly from this. Microsoft do fine, they get the same license fee no matter how much the system itself actually costs, but companies like Dell and HP and Acer and the like all aim for low prices and massive volume to get any return on the investment. I fear the same happening with Android tablets. it's already happened to a degree with Android handsets too. Apple rake it in at the higher end.

  • Is video games are tech?

  • @EdwardTheTechGeek Yes, video games is are tech.
