You can find the Persephone soul in the Demon Guest House's lower floors reached through the Gardens of Madness

That potion that you mentioned at 8:08 can be collected early on with the help of the double jump and Flying Armor and Puppet Master souls, though you'll need to jump off of that ledge at 7:53.
