@glamiswarrior33. Marines send their troops to Army Ranger school... and more than 50% of them fail. Marines also send their troops to Army Airborne school for airborne infiltration tactics. Marines have the best basic riflemen in the world. This I know, my best friend/brother is a marine, among other friends. If the are supposed to be tough, tell them why an old washed up veteran like me can still spar and beat them up on my front lawn every Thanksgiving, lol.

Combat is the only way to prove ones worth and let us remind ourselves that German soldiers never gave the U.S. army such a fierce nickname. Enemy troops across the various battlefields do not FEAR the U.S. army. They have and always will FEAR the United States Marines because we kill everything we see. No disrespect intended but if everyone could get in then it would not be the MARINES.

I was in Navy boot camp in '71. So you think it was easy? It was basically the same as this Marine situation. A recruit is the lowest form of life, etc. My Company Commander, SMC Tom Ennis, was as tough as any of these guys. He was a riverboat "captain" in V-Nam. He started out saying we'd hate him. Well, it didn't happen. Think of a Clint Eastwood from N. Orleans. We were pounded into a winning company. When marching to barracks, after graduation, he said he was trading us in like used cars.

This isnt intended to be a publicity stunt. Hopefully, these educators will head back to their classrooms and understand what it takes to be a Marine, demonstrate by example the core values. They don't need to (and probably get into trouble if they did) yell at their recruits (err....students). But they can definitely instill in them the values of a good human being.

My drill instructor, back in 05 hit me, made me vomit, kicked me, turtle fucked me (cavilar hitting cavilar), and crushed my fingers when I was pushing the deck. Why? Because I was taller than him. He sleep and food deprived me, and even fucked with my while I was trying to sleep. Why? Because I was six foot three. Let them deprive you of food and sleep and IT and hit you any chance they get. You will go fucking insane. Only then will you know what it means to be a recruit.

They actually let the educators get access to some of us recruits. They had the Senior Drill Instructors pick several recruits from their platoon in Bravo Company, me being one of them, and tasked us to go eat with them. We basically had to talk with them about our experiences in recruit training.

The chow wasn't half bad either (we ate at the main chow hall instead of the recruit chow hall). I enjoyed every second of it. lol

No Marine is a pogue... Period. This is coming from an old 0311..Take any Marine and he's a basic rifle man. Such as a Marine who works in S-1 for example. I would put that admin. Marine up against any of the best the Army has to offer and see who's trained better in field.
