  • I have the cd. It is good, but it requires work if you want to improve your vibrato. I am still working to find mine because I naturally have a fast vibrato. So for me, learning to slow it down and control is my goal.

  • do sit-ups and your vibrato will come

  • Vroom vroom vroom hihi.

  • Actually tremolo is also pitch. Volume is crescendo

  • Tremolo is NOT vibrato.

    VIBRATO = fluctuation in PITCH

    TREMOLO = fluctuation in VOLUME

  • what if police sirens go "Nee nor Nee nor nee nor nee nor, woop woop, nee nor nee nor" ?

  • If you aren't singing with vibratto, you are probably tense. It takes time to fully open and relax. Vibratto comes naturally when everything is in place. Just work on your technique and let your tension go to gain vibratto. It isn't manufactured from the stomach, it is a natural variation of pitch from your vocal chords when you sing freely.

  • its fake vibrato, i want natural, js.

  • wow thanks !! i do these with my vocal excersises cuz i needed sumthn to kick off the vibrato n these worked perfectly thanks!

  • @kojmas get the fuck off.

  • This video is the best I've seen! It definitely helps my practice! I loved it! =D

  • vibrato is fake and not natural..cus naturally it comes out straight like how you would talk. If you speak with a vibrato then thats natural..hahaha

  • @kojmas So ignorant. You have NO IDEA.

  • @TgHrOeMeAnS oh

  • thumbs up if you can't thumbs up

  • Is vibrato pulsating through air volume? or is it pulsating through fluctuation of pitch? or is that the same thing?

  • I've done a spinning vibrato before and it sounded so amazing. But I tried to do it again and it didn't work. I can do vibrato but not the spinning kind.

  • this man is so right, i slowed down my vibrato (never had voice training) and it sounds exactly like those 3 excercises can do for you, not the back and forth business i'm hearing that you should do between 2 different notes,

  • Wait im confused DX does a person make virbrato happen or does it just happen without u knowing? plz answer!!!!

  • @TheDemiLFreak1 Dude my guess, if just happen we wouldn't have control to do when we want.

So I believe you make it happen however with a lot of training this will come naturally when you want it come.

    I hope help.

    Bad English...lol

  • @massarde9591 thanks ;]

  • I actually did it! Thanks, ur the man!

  • This was highly helpful, cheers :D

  • I... can't do any of these exercises! I don't get how he's achieving the sound. Is it by using his diaphragm to create a faster airflow? I was told in another video that vibrato doesn't come from the stomach, and he doesn't explain how to achieve the sounds. He just says, "Do this. [insert example here]" I'm frustrated at my own self-made vibrato because it doesn't sound right and does work all the time. Please help!

  • @MowLiao I know my reply is a little bit late, but here's something you can try.

Start out with an extremely slow vibrato. Singing it on a note like "Ah," it might sound/feel like "Haaa...haaa...haaa." You should feel a sort of flipping somewhere in the back of your throat. Doing this extremely slowly will get the general feel and control of how it's done, and then work on doing it faster. If this doesn't work, try slowly varying the note by half steps, then faster. This works for some.

  • I purchased your vibrato cd's a few months ago and have a vibrato but can't really sustain it. I sing a song and go for the vibrato and sometimes I get and other times I don't. should I my practice increase? and if so, for how many hrs? I'm just lost and need a little guidance...thank you

  • You talk to much.

  • @MrSteveeboy lolzz :))

  • Oh my GOODNESS! I have been trying to develop vibrato for like 9 months! And after watching your video like a minute..... I did it!!!!(:

  • i had done vibrato once and luckily ive recorded it, but i cant do it again, and thats when (i think) my last breath doing the song... what do u think?????

  • my car wont start!! :((

  • ur a good teacher.....!!!!!!!!!!

  • @wishigirl thats to funny

  • loooooooooool ur funny

  • Vibratos are no problem for me. The issue is singing smoothly *_*

    Who wants to swap voices?

  • i think these methods are best iv seen up 2 now and they do help alot! thnx

  • you dont understand, these methods don't work because you already have vibrato, so you think it will work, but it probably wont. you are incorporating your vibrato into these methods making us think that they will work, but it doesnt

  • I have a good vibrato in mezza voce. But, I have problems in the higher notes when I am using the chest register. I sing opera. Any tips?

  • I am wondering also, are you teaching a vibrato that you pulsate with from your diaphram? I have been really confused with myself how to sing with vibrato and am not sure if doing correctly. I know that I sometimes sing with a vibrato from my throat and it is really hard to not do that. Then I sing with one that seems to come from my diaphragm. Please help- I guess telling me how it feels when singing correctly might make more sense to me. (do u feel any movement in stomach?)

  • Hi

are these exercises all designed to center minute movements in the vocal chords? they seem helpful to tighten up the vibrato even if you already have one.

  • Very Helpful stuff!! ive been doing it for almost 4 days and my vibrato is getting better.. Nice Job!

  • Thanks for the video..

the problem is.. I CAN'T DO THIS!!!!!

    I'll never learn vibrato..

  • @yenee94 Don't say that ! just practice and sing a lot of songs with Vibratos, that's how I learned it. don't give up !

  • I had to laugh at the panting puppy lool

  • What is the estimated weeks for one to develop their vibrato if practicing one of the methods everyday?

  • @anwaraemon practise all of the methods lool

  • These all sound like diaphramatic vibrato.... I'd rather someone get a vocal coach than by a CD they can't interact with...

  • hello!! this sounds helpful!! I went to your website to contact you, however the "Contact" page was down.. What's the process to be able to take from you?

    Thanks!

  • Also I Made up Games for The ZZZZZZZ and The Dog .. I Act Like a Bee And I Act Like I Dog.. Im !0 By The Way.... :\

  • THANKS!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome!!!! This is really good stuff!!!! Thanks so much !

  • Awesome!

  • Great simple basic step, thank you for your time to make such video.

  • Okay, so I've been reading different things. If I'm correctly using vibrato, will my "Adam's apple" move while my voice is pulsing? The movement very subtle, but it's there.

In other words, is vibrato more mechanical (consciously adjusting the pitches in my voice by adjusting my vocal cords), or is it more reactive (learning how the air flows on my larynx, and manipulating that to create the vibrato effect)? I hope my question makes sense.

  • @mikecarr2410

Did you ever get a response to your question. I'm wondering the same thing.

  • my ordered cd just came in today. I will report back with positive results soon. I am excited to improve my vibrato.

  • who can translation this to Vietnamese ? i can't understand it !!

  • @sica1297 Hah you can't understand him talking in english but you can't write in English? that's weird.... I'm viet but translating something to viet is hard so i can't do it for you.. sorry.. you can try to practice by making the same sounds as he's making!

  • All that this man is showing is working!!!

    YOU CAN Develop your vibrato!!!

Listen masterclass of maestro Galouzine, the part about vibrato.

You are should trust the guy who has great international career.

  • This video was great! I was so surprised, I got this really nice small vibrato from the very first tip. They are really helpful, put up more videos!

  • Thx for posting it! Great tips!!!!!!!!!!!

  • They say not to force it, because most people try and use there throat or diaphragm to pulsate putting strain on your voice. Using the diaphragm to pulsate you have less air and can't sing as long and its a fake vibrato. Using yout throat makes it tighten up and then it starts to hurt and fatigue you.

You just got to learn how to breathe properly and just speak your works in elongated sentences with that breath with no effort. Then you can focus on your vibrato.

  • Absolutely. In fact, the 2nd CD in the program uses some exercise variations on what you are describing.

  • @StormWHM Ehm... you just eliminated every possible way to make a vibrato!

From what a voice expert said in an article, the Diaphragmatic Vibrato is the incorrect one (you can't tamper with the support of your body just to have vibrato).

You have to "slightly fluctuate the pitch using the vocal cords and ideal air support". For that, you use your vocal cords - the diaphragm keeps providing air in a steady way (just like when you do a 30 second "hiss", just that).

  • @rafanavega (You have miss-read my post. Please read through thoroughly before commenting.)

Vibrato is the oscillation between pitches, sing your scales and practice on switching pitches faster and faster until you begin to feel how to do it. Don't expect to do it perfectly over night, you need to practice.

Encode it into your muscle memory will make it feel natural or effortless. You are the one controlling your voice, it is called proper technique.

  • @StormWHM I have not misread your post; I believe it was you that didn't understand what I said.

You stated: "Using yout throat makes it tighten up and then it starts to hurt and fatigue you."

You state that *using the throat* is malicious - fallacy. Doesn't matter the intention behind it.

Using the throat 'does not necessarily bring those conditions you previously stated'. Only it's bad usage.

  • @rafanavega OMG!! Please re-read my comments above.

I was talking about not using your "throat" to "Force a Fake Vibrato", you will know you are doing it this way when only after a minute or even less your throat starts to hurt. Because you are forcing it...

  • @StormWHM Sorry to intervene, but pulsating from the diaphragm is a very useful technique. Samuel Ramey is an operatic bass who sang with this technique for 40 years. He is nearing the end of his career now, but has been one of the finest bass voices of all time. Fake vibrato: that's just not so.

  • I thought I just have vibrato. My choir teacher told me that you either have vibrato or you don't. I'm trying this!

  • I mean I thought that you were sort of born having vibrato or you weren't. I thought I couldn't get vibrato. Now I have some hope to get it.

  • I've written a mini-article about the question of "are you born with vibrato or not?" in the info section of this video posting, and you can see the full answer at my singwithpower.wordpress. com blog.

  • @rector559 with proper training and breath support it just occurs naturally... I had been singing since the age of 4 and didn't develop a vibrato til I was 15. I attended a summer voice camp after my freshman year of hs and by utilizing my voice properly, it just started happening and as you continue your progress as a musician you learn to use it better...

  • The tips in the video don't come right away, but tip #3 worked pretty well for me.

  • no one really has ever clearly explained to me how to vibrato.

QUESTION : is REAL vibrato manually making that "vibrato sound" or is the vibrato supposed to naturally happen without actually making the note pulsate conciously.. no one knows how to explain and teach vibrato to those who doesn't know how to vibrato.

  • Great question! You're essentially asking: Is vibrato natural (happens by itself), or is it consciously caused somehow by the singer? I've written a mini-article for you in the info section of this video posting, and you can see the full answer at my singwithpower.wordpress. com blog.
